For Lakers fans, the long wait may be coming to an end.
The NBA has been idle since March 11, when it became the first major U.S. sports league to shut down as the Covid-19 outbreak worsened. Two Lakers players tested positive for Covid-19 shortly thereafter.
But on Friday, ace NBA reporter Shams Charania posted a video saying the Lakers — and hopefully LeBron James — would be returning to their El Segundo practice facility on Saturday, May 16.

That was followed by a similar report from ESPN’s Lakers pro, Ramona Shelbourne.
After working with city, county, and state officials the Lakers are planning to re-open their practice facility tomorrow for voluntary, socially distanced workouts in accordance with NBA protocols, sources told ESPN.

Four amazing things in this 23-second clip ... 1) Joel Embiid says his playoff series with the Brooklyn Nets is already Over -- even though it's only 3-1. 2) Embiid's post-game meal is Shake Shack (the burgers are awesome). 3) He stops to take a picture with a kid (always cool with his fans). 4) Embiid's girlfriend makes a cameo ... and good lord. So, we spotted Embiid after his 76ers beat the Nets on Saturday -- in a game that was pretty contentious.

Update: Michael Jordan has weighed in with a statement: “I support Lj. He’s doing an amazing job for his community.” Also on Team LeBron: Melania Trump. She praised James for his work with children, even saying she is open to visiting the school he founded in Akron.
“It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation and just as she always has, the first lady encourages everyone to have an open dialogue about issues facing children today,” the first lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement. “As you know, Mrs. Trump has traveled the country and world talking to children about their well-being, healthy living, and the importance of responsible online behavior with her Be Best initiative. Her platform centers around visiting organizations, hospitals and schools, and she would be open to visiting the I Promise School in Akron.
