Justin Currie is a phenomenal artist whose work has been featured many times here on GeekTyrant (that you can see more of here and here). His work has a unique and amazing feel that I have never seen anywhere else. His is a style that uses sharp, straight edges with bright colors, making his art feel industrial, yet alive. He has achieved this look by working in Vector, an art program that uses geometric shapes and is typically used to make company logos. Some of his more famous works are his reimaginings of the Avengers and Batman as robots. Justin attended Slcc Comic Con where I had the privilege to interview him and get to know him and his art.

Last week Joey posted some wonderful art by Deviant Art User Chasing Artwork, which featured some of our favorite Marvel characters in a more robotic form. Being the Deviant Art scavenger I am, it turns out that Chasing Artwork (real name Justin Currie) also has some sweet gaming related pieces in his gallery as well, so feast your eyes on some cool Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Metroid, Shadow of the Colossus, Assassins Creed, Portal, Zone of the Enders, and Halo themed vector art. If you're a fan, make sure to head to his new Facebook page to give him a like or two.

Check out this insanely badass series of art featuring robot character designs for several DC and Marvel comics superheroes. These were created by Justin Currie a.k.a. ChasingArtwork, and I love how they look. It'd be awesome to see these become some kind of series.
Thanks to Justin for sending these over to us! Hope you all like them.

With the world in the grip of Royal Wedding fever, a new comic book based on the lives of Prince William and Kate Middleton hits stores tomorrow, just two days before the couple walk down the aisle.
The Royals: Prince William & Kate Middleton, written by CW Cooke and pencilled by Pablo Martinena, shows how the eight-year romance flourished.
"The closer the wedding day comes, the greater the excitement for this book," said Darren G. Davis, president of Bluewater. "What I like about this issue is it presents both William and Kate as two well-rounded and grounded individuals. It's a great love story."
The standard 32-page book retails for $3.99, while a special collector's edition 40-page graphic novel will be priced $7.99.
Bluewater has also announced that another royal will be entering the comics world. William's brother Harry will be featured in his own title this summer. A first look at the cover art is included below.

By virtue of the splendid and strange life that I lead, I've been lucky enough to speak with most of the singer-songwriters whose music I love. One glaring exception is John Lennon, who was killed before I started conversing with great musicians for a living. Recently, I got the chance to finally meet one of my favorite artists who I've somehow missed over the years. Interestingly, Justin Currie -- the Scottish singer-songwriter best known as the longtime front man of the perennially undervalued band Del Amitri -- has always reminded me just a little bit of John Lennon, as well as another of my favorite writers named John -- John Updike. Read on to find out why the hell I would say such a thing. And so it was during a recent family vacation in Boston, I selfishly dragged...

Ever notice how work tends to bunch up like a bunch of six year olds playing soccer? Like, you'll go days or even a couple weeks when you can just cruise along without too much trouble and then Bam! You've got seven major things to do before the end of the week and it's Wednesday night. That happens to me more than I like to admit, and it's half because of my own procrastinating tendencies, but it really does seem like the more I have to do, the more work people give me. So it's unlikely I'll be watching TV tonight but in case you are, here's what's on:
8:00pm: "ABC Sports Special: Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night" on ABC
8:30pm: "100 Questions" on NBC. The name of this episode is "Have You Ever Dated a Bad Boy?" What the hell kind of question is that? How are we defining "Bad Boy" anyway?...

The former lead singer of the Scottish pop-rock band Del Amitri, Justin Currie, is headed out on tour in the U.S. starting in June. Currie will be performing hits from his upcoming second solo album, “The Great War.”
The Ryko released-album will hit stores on May 4, boasting a twist of haunting and mysterious lyrics combined with infectious melodies from the Glasgow-born rocker.
“If I have a mission as an artist,” says Currie, “it would be to get a little more poetry into the great warehouse of rock music. All I can do is get it out there and fight to be heard; that's the great war.”
“The Great War” features songs such as “A Man With Nothing To Do,” “Ready To Be,” “The Way That It Falls” and “The Fight To Be Human.”...
