The mother of the voice actor who played Joe Swanson in “Family Guy” made attempts to have the show canceled ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
For 25 years, Patrick Warburton has been the voice behind Joe Swanson on Family Guy. But alas, his kinfolk haven’t quite cheered him on. At a recent PaleyFest LA bash celebrating the show’s milestone, Warburton let slip that his folks aren’t fans of the Seth MacFarlane masterpiece. In fact, his mom even took a stab at getting it axed!
According to Patrick Warburton, his parents’ dislike for the show has only grown stronger over the past 25 years. He revealed that his father spent three months in a monastery and almost became a monk. Additionally, when Warburton was 13 years old, his mother distributed pamphlets in their neighbourhood about the sins of masturbation, which didn’t exactly help Warburton fit in with the cool crowd.

Seth MacFarlane‘s Family Guy is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, but if Patrick Warburton’s parents had their way, the long-running animated comedy series would be dead and buried.
Patrick Warburton has voiced Joe Swanson on Family Guy since the first season, but his parents have never approved of his involvement in the series. “They hate the show even more today than they did 25 years ago,” Warburton said during the PaleyFest LA: Family Guy 25th Anniversary Celebration panel (via People). “My father was in a monastery for three months. He almost became a monk. … My mother [went] around the neighborhood when I was 13 years old passing out pamphlets on the sins of masturbation, [which] did not get me into the cool crowd. So they hate the show.“

Patrick Warburton has voiced Joe Swanson on “Family Guy” since the show’s first season 25 years ago, but the role has never exactly gotten his family’s seal of approval. During a recent PaleyFest LA event celebrating “Family Guy’s” 25th anniversary (via People magazine), Warburton revealed that his parents hate the Seth MacFarlane-created animated comedy and their disdain for the show went so far that Warburton’s mom once tried to get “Family Guy” canceled.

“Family Guy” creator and executive producer Seth MacFarlane shared insight at PaleyFest on whether or not the Griffin family will ever make it to the big screen in a full-length feature film. The show’s cast also brought the house down Friday with a live table read of upcoming episode “The Edible Arrangement” and nine performances of musical classics from the series as the show celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Without giving too much of the goodness away, the episode the cast did a table read for — written by Travis Bowe — is titled “The Edible Arrangement.” It’s centered on Lois and Stewie bonding after consuming a few of Brian’s weed-infused gummies. The episode features the first time Lois has ever heard Stewie talk, which provides Stewie with the perfect opportunity to tell her all about his old plot to murder her.

When you hear the name Seth MacFarlane, you’ll probably know that you’re in for some borderline humor that does hit the spot but not always in the way you’d expect. MacFarlane is funny, which cannot be denied, but his humor has been divisive from the very beginning. Whether it’s Ted, his Oscar hosting gig, or his most famous work, the adult animated series Family Guy, MacFarlane certainly knows how to draw attention to himself. The latter series has, despite all the praise directed at it, often been criticized for its humor and how it tends to take things too far, especially when sensitive social issues are concerned.
Now, this report isn’t about MacFarlane directly, but it is about another Family Guy character, the paraplegic macho police officer Joe Swanson, who is voiced by one of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces and voices, Patrick Warburton. The...

Attorneys gave their closing arguments in the “Rust” trial in Santa Fe, N.M., on Wednesday, with the prosecution urging jurors to find Hannah Gutierrez Reed guilty of involuntary manslaughter and to hold her accountable for an “astonishing” lack of gun safety on the film set.
Special prosecutor Kari Morrissey argued that as the film’s armorer, Gutierrez Reed, was in charge of guns on set, and that it was her failure to tell the difference between dummies and live rounds that led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
“This was a game of Russian roulette every time an actor had a gun with dummies,” Morrissey said.
Defense attorney Jason Bowles urged the jury to find her not guilty.
He cited flaws in the Sheriff’s investigation that made it impossible to know for certain where the live rounds came from. He also pointed to errors committed by the production,...

Santa Fe, N.M. — The “Rust” trial boiled over in hostile bickering between the prosecution and the defense on Wednesday, after the defense poked several holes in the Sheriff’s investigation.
Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film’s armorer, is on trial for involuntary manslaughter in the October 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The prosecution has argued that Gutierrez Reed unwittingly brought live ammunition on set.
Cpl. Alexandra Hancock, the lead investigator on the case for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, testified Wednesday that there is no “direct” evidence of that theory — only circumstantial evidence.
In his opening statement, prosecutor Jason Lewis argued that photos show that Gutierrez Reed had the live rounds on set as early as Oct. 10 — 11 days before the shooting — and failed to notice them.
But on cross-examination, Hancock agreed that she had “no idea” when the live rounds came on set.

Patrick Warburton is an American actor with much experience in voice acting. Known for his trademark deep bass-baritone voice, Warburton is probably the most engaged voiceover artist in Hollywood; however, as the actor revealed, it’s hard to make a fortune from playing voice roles unless you are voicing a main character in The Simpsons. Warburton has voiced many iconic characters on television, including Family Guy‘s Joe Swanson. The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office released a massive trove on Monday from its ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust.” The release adds significantly to the public record of the events leading to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on Oct. 21.
But it does not answer one key question: Where did the live round come from?
Movies often use real guns, but never real bullets. But on “Rust,” a live round made its way into a Colt .45, which Alec Baldwin fired during set-up for a shot inside a church at the Bonanza Creek Ranch. Investigators would later find seven other suspected live rounds on the set, mixed among dummy rounds.
Det. Alexandria Hancock was tasked with figuring out how they got there. On Nov. 9, she interviewed Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film’s 24-year-old armorer, who came in with her attorney. The interview was recorded on Hancock’s bodycam.

That’s how I discovered Versus, the third film from director Ryûhei Kitamura – as a bootleg Dvdr. A bootleg without subtitles, without any information beyond the sheer enthusiasm other people had for the film. And I was blown away. Versus‘ reputation kept growing, eventually getting a legitimate UK DVD release from the now-defunct Tartan Films.

Patrick Warburton is likely known by many upon many people as the voice of Joe Swanson from Family Guy but he’s also been quite prominent when it comes to movies as well since he’s been seen and heard in a good number of them. With his voice and his gruff manner being his most distinctive features he’s the kind of guy that’s very easily stereotyped since he is big and kind of intimidating. But with that in mind he’s actually been pretty funny over the years since he’s managed to take his size and his look and make it into

The prospect of a TV iteration of the thrilling book series Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events was always going to be a welcome one.
After a movie that failed to kickstart a franchise due to diminished box office returns, it seemed as though there was absolutely no chance of ever witnessing the other books being adapted.

I talked with Patrick Warburton today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour about his new NBC sitcom Crowded (more on that in a later post), and had a chance to also talk about his other memorable comedic work, from David Puddy on Seinfeld to Joe Swanson on Family Guy to Brock Samson on The Venture Bros. But Warburton said that while all of those certainly have their fan bases, it is his short-lived 2001 Fox sitcom The Tick that “has this grand cult following.” Our interview was at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, and Warburton said … Continue reading →

Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane are back as John Bennett and his childhood stuffed bear Ted in the new film Ted 2. For those not familiar with the first film, Ted comes to life after a Christmas wish a younger John makes. Fast forward to the present, and both are grown up losers (of the lovable variety), smoking weed and drinking beer through life. A few years have passed in between the first movie and the sequel, and some things have changed. John is now divorced, and, as Ted 2 opens, Ted is marrying his one true love Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth).
The film’s conflict begins once the honeymoon is over. Ted and Tami-Lynn are fighting more than expected and after some advice from a fellow cashier, Ted and Tami-Lynn decide to have a baby. The only problem is, Ted is a living stuffed animal with no working parts. Through...

The best song of 2014 and 2015 keeps getting awesome covers!
After seeing Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' hit performed by high school students, Glee, and some awesome elderly people, we get to hear the song through the voices of Quahog, R.I.!
In this YouTube video, Mikey Bolts effortlessly switches between various Family Guy characters (as well as some other popular cartoon favorites) to make dragons want to retire once again.

But our favorite is probably Hank from King of the Hill:

Seriously Hank is the best.
Watch: Elderly People Cover 'Uptown Funk' and It's Amazing
It's safe to say if Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane ever needs a day off, he can just give this guy a ring!

Two years after the original made almost $550,000,000 at the worldwide box office, Ted 2 is still thundering forward. Leads Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane have both committed to returning for a second round. Amanda Seyfried as Mila Kunis' replacement, and now, at least one supporting player from Ted 1 is ready to come back too: Patrick Warburton. Hardcore Ted fans likely remember Patrick Warburton played Mark Wahlberg.s co-worker Guy, who was in a guy relationship with Ryan Reynolds. Yes, seriously. This actually happened. That Patrick Warburton would be one of the first people to board Ted 2 should surprise no one. The former Seinfeld star (Feels like an Arby.s night!) voices police officer Joe Swanson on Family Guy, and by all accounts, he gets along great with creator Seth MacFarlane. So, really, why wouldn.t he come back? It.s just win-win all around. According to Deadline, as...

I thought this would be an easier review, because I thought I had reviewed it before, back when I saw the screener around the time it was being unleashed on VOD. Turns out, my good friend and Tld badass Eric King(Brobocop) reviewed it for me, so I actually have to do a little bit of work. That’s okay, though, because Bad Milo was one of the gems of 2013, in my humble opinion. Bad Milo is one of those movies, that when you read the description, you think that no way will this movie be any semblance of good. You would think that, but you’d be wrong. I had an idea, what to expect, from a movie that was described to me as a story about an irritable man with a demon living in his intestines, that would come out through his anus when stress levels reach a maximum,...

As the lights dim for the "Family Guy" panel in San Diego Comic-Con's large Ballroom 20, a video plays in which show creator Seth MacFarlane apologizes to fans for not being there "shaking a thousand strange hands and being coughed on."
MacFarlane's presence was sorely missed, as was Mila Kunis', but there was still plenty of talent on hand. Executive producers and showrunners Steve Callaghan and Rich Appel took the stage along with executive producer Danny Smith and actors Mike Henry (Cleveland Brown), Patrick Warburton (Joe Swanson), Alex Borstein (Lois Griffin), and Seth Green (Chris Griffin).
Callaghan starts the panel with a bang by revealing that one of the Griffins will be killed and replaced with a new character in Season 12. "It could be anyone, any one of our six main cast," he adds. It did not seem like he was joking, and the crowd didn't quite know what to think.

Kristen was dissed on the April 28 episode of ‘Family Guy’ but HollywoodLife.com has learned that it didn’t bother her that they made fun of her being ‘dirty.’ She actually thought it was funny.
Kristen Stewart is taking the high road. HollywoodLife.com can tell you that K-Stew didn’t care one bit when Family Guy‘s Lois Griffin, and Glenn Quagmire slammed her on the show.
Kristen Stewart Doesn’t Care About Being Made Fun Of On The Show
A source close to the actress tells us: “She doesn’t care about the Family Guy diss as she feels like the show is like Saturday Night Live and they are going to get you eventually, plus she didn’t think the joke was in bad taste or vile as it was a joke about hygiene. She has definitely dealt with worse. She is taking things fine and laughing it off.

On the April 28 episode of ‘Family Guy,’ Lois Griffin totally made fun of K-Stew and it was shocking! Read on to find out how it all went down.
Let’s hope that Kristen Stewart doesn’t watch Family Guy! Lois Griffin and Glenn Quagmire had quite the conversation about Kristen, and it was pretty mean!
Kristen Stewart Dissed On ‘Family Guy’
Here is how the whole conversation got started:
Quagmire: Who would you rather do, Kristen Stewart or Scarlett Johansson?
Lois Griffin: Definitely Scarlett Johansson. For one thing, there’s the boobs, which Kristen Stewart does not have. Also, I get the impression that Kristen Stewart is more of a bath person when she really needs a shower.
Joe Swanson: She does seem kind of dirty.
Lois Griffin: Yeah. Someone should write ‘Wash Me’ in the dust on that flat ass.
Kristen & Rob Having Lots Of Date Nights

During Sunday's episode of Family Guy, Bill Maher made a cameo during a musical number about the glories of Canadian strip clubs. As character Glenn Quagmire (voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane) attempted to convince friends Joe Swanson (Patrick Warburton) and Peter Griffin (MacFarlane) to venture with him to Montreal, the gang broke out into a parody version of "Merry Old Land of Oz" extolling the virtues of the city's full-contact strip joints.

My Saturday at aGLIFF Polari began with the Family Films shorts program. This kid-friendly screening included three fantastical tales -- two of them new and one a timeless classic.
First up was The Maiden and the Princess, one of the most delightful shorts I've seen lately, about a girl in need of a different kind of fairy tale and a rogue storyteller determined to see that she gets it. Familar faces David Anders and Julian Sands topped the cast list of this short directed by Ali Scher who co-wrote with Joe Swanson.
Deflated, the second short in the program, is a local production by writer and director Dustin Shroff. A young boy is forced by convention into choosing the one green ball from a store display when the one he really wants, like all the others, is pink. Deflated was not only short, sweet and to the point, it was...

She'll also be dropping by The Simpsons next season, making a... More >>...

The Duplass brothers helped pioneer the lo-fi mumblecore movement. But will they change their style now big stars are knocking on their door?
Directing duo Jay and Mark Duplass missed out on membership of the Star Wars generation. Or, rather, they turned it down – albeit unwittingly. "I was born in 1973," says Jay, the elder by three years. "Perfect timing, but I just didn't care. I guess we were already on the hunt for grownup adult dramas. HBO broadcast Kramer vs Kramer and Ordinary People. All our friends were obsessed with Star Wars and we were obsessed with hard-hitting relationship dramas."
They laugh at the sensible, grownup boys they once were.
Mark: "Silkwood. We're like, eight!"
Jay: "We've only recently acknowledged to ourselves how ridiculous that seems."
Mark: "Midnight Express!"
Jay: "You'd come home from school and An Unmarried Woman would be on TV. We'd just go: 'I guess this is...

*full disclosure: a screener was provided by director Alberto Belli.
Director: Alberto Belli.
Writer: Joe Swanson.
Cast: Rob Benedict, Marti Kass and Holly Fulger.
Noir is not just about black and white, desolation and the modern detective novel. Quite often, these films are about the isolation the weary P.I. faces and his outlook on life is often bleak. Sometimes, this individual simply needs a little spice in his life, or his funny bone tickled.
In The Case of the Missing Garden Gnome (Cmgg), this genre gets a stylish update. It’s like watching an episode of "Magnum P.I." near the end of its run, when the production team and cast decided that they should have fun with conventions. Here, this short film project is a light-hearted look at the life of Seamus Biggs (Rob Benedict), a gumshoe looking for a case that will make his career. He has...

Two-time Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks is without a doubt one of the biggest and best-known stars to come out of Hollywood, and over the years, he’s had some pretty diverse roles.
The world-renowned actor’s credits include films like Big, You’ve Got Mail, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, Cast Away, The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can, Road To Perdition, The Da Vinci Code, The Green Mile, Saving Private Ryan, and plenty, plenty more.
THR report that the actor’s latest project is coming to life this year online, having created an animated sci-fi series called Electric City that he’ll star in, which is to be shown exclusively on Yahoo, marking their first venture into scripted programming. It’s a co-production of Reliance Entertainment (whose credits include The Fighter, The Help, and War Horse), and Playtone, Hanks’ and producer Gary Goetzman’s own production company, perhaps best known...

According to the Urban Dictionary, a zombo is one of either five definitions and there is no unanimous agreement over which is the correct term. In the short film of the same name, it is the nom de plume of the lead character, a zombie hobo looking for the sound of music to sing along to in the world of 1930's Broadway.
In this little alternate universe, zombies are a fact of life and they retain their human intelligence. Because of that, these creatures are treated like dogs. When they become a nuisance, they can be carted away to a pound. With Zombo (Nicholas Joseph Harden) and Frank (Kelly Connell) looking for their next meal, how each of them embraces their life on the streets differs from how they interpret success. Frank...

I already like John Hodgman more than I like Justin Long, but the addition of Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld's David Puddy and Family Guy's Joe Swanson, among others) to the PC side in Apple's latest commercial (embedded below) majorly tips the scale. It's not like I'm about to buy a PC -- as one of Apple's most loyal customers, I possess the rare ability to see the iPhone 3Gi -- but I'd definitely rather hang out with the "PC personified" crowd right this second. It's not just the commercial that has me all hot and bothered -- I've also spent the better part of an hour listening to Warburton's oral descriptions of specialty burgers and cheeses at the Cheese & Burger Society's website. If PCs start coming equipped with Warburton's lusty food descriptions as their startup tones, Apple could be gone for good.
