Hidetaka Miyazaki became a popular name in the gaming industry for his contribution to the Dark Souls series. He further solidified his place in the industry by serving as the director of many popular Soulslike games like Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. Without a doubt, Miyazaki is perfect at everything he does. However, he believes that he has a weakness: characterization.
Bloodborne
In one of his past interviews, Miyazaki talked about his 2015 action role-playing game, Bloodborne, another outstanding game he has worked on. While talking about Master Willem, Miyazaki admitted that he is not very good at characterization so his dialogue is in flashback form. However, that became one of the small details that made Bloodborne an exciting video game.

Willem Dafoe has been in the entertainment industry for nearly five decades now. Besides being nominated for numerous accolades such as Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, and Golden Globe Awards, he has received the Volpi Cup for Best Actor. Although he has played some great roles, he is best known for his role as Green Goblin/Norman Osborne in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man film series.
Dafoe most recently appeared in Poor Things, which is nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece. The film, starring Emma Stone in the lead role, is a front-runner at the Academy Awards with 11 nominations this year. While her co-stars have been all praises about her stunning performance in the movie, Dafoe wanted to replace her for one particular scene.

The 2024 Oscars are coming up and Poor Things is one contender that nominees have to watch out for. The film is nominated in a total of eleven categories, including Best Supporting Actor for Mark Ruffalo. Mark Ruffalo played the role of the film’s antagonist, Duncan Wedderburn, and we have never seen him quite like this ever before.
A still from Poor Things
Now, we all know that Mark Ruffalo is undoubtedly amongst the finest that Hollywood has to offer. However, Poor Things proved that there are times when someone of his caliber can too feel insecure. On one hand, there was Mark Ruffalo feeling insecure on the set of Poor Things, and on the other, there was his co-star Willem Dafoe using his insecurity to play a prank on him. He even enlisted an ex-co-star to make it seem all the more believable.

Poland’s American Film Festival readies for its — lucky — 13th edition, unspooling Nov. 8-13 in Wrocław.
The fest, which will open with “Bones and All” and close with Florian Zeller’s “The Son,” will once again combine classics with contemporary titles, for instance pairing Nancy Buirski’s doc “Desperate Souls, Dark City and the Legend of Midnight Cowboy” with John Schlesinger’s Oscar-winner, or introducing retrospectives dedicated to Robert Altman and Nina Menkes.
Menkes — behind “Brainwashed: Sex-Camera-Power” — will also get Aff’s Indie Star Award. Previous recipients include Todd Solondz, David Gordon Green, Hal Hartley, Whit Stillman, Rosanna Arquette and John Waters, who came to Poland last year.
“It was amazing,” Waters tells Variety, and he was “pleasantly surprised and flattered” by the local audience’s knowledge of his work.
“They really knew who I was! My favorite thing happened during a Q&a, when this man, who looked like an old Communist,...
