From Christopher Landon's Happy Death Day 2U and the Netflix series Russian Doll to Johannes Nyholm’s Koko-di Koko-da and Tom Paton’s Stairs, 2019 has been the year of time loop entertainment, and director D.C. Hamilton looks to add another compelling time-warping experience to the list with The Fare. Based on a screenplay by Brinna Kelly (who also co-stars in the movie), The Fare follows a taxi driver (Gino Anthony Pesi) who must figure out why his latest customer (Kelly) disappeared from the back of his cab... and why he keeps experiencing the eerie event over and over. With The Fare out now on Blu-ray and DVD from Dread, we caught up with Hamilton in our latest Q&a feature to discuss filming The Fare in six days, making the movie stay fresh while filming primarily in one location, and the upcoming projects he hopes to make with Brinna Kelly.

Deja-vu is certainly one of the weirder phenomena of the human brain. You're absolutely certain that some moment of your life has happened before, even though you know for a fact that it couldn't have. But what if it had? Science fiction and horror films have certainly found strange ways to explore this feeling to send chills down our spine. And D.C. Hamilton's new film The Fare does just that. The middle of the desert is a strange place to pick up a taxi fare, as driver Harris is aware, and his passenger Penny seems to know that her destination is also in the weird unknown. But just how unknow, and how many times they've been through this before, is caught in this deja-vu...

"What don't I not know?!" Epic Pictures has debuted an official trailer for an indie romance mystery thriller titled The Fare, which seems like it could be a taxi cab horror but is actually a time loop drama about a driver and his fare. From director D.C. Hamilton (The Midnight Man), the film is about a taxi driver who picks up a woman. He is entranced by her, until she suddenly disappears and he has no idea what's going on. "He and Penny find themselves trapped in an endlessly looping ride that changes their lives forever." Starring Brinna Kelly as the woman, Penny, with Gino Anthony Pesi as the driver, Harris, plus Jason Stuart, Jon Jacobs, and Matt Fontana. This is a fascinating trailer, especially with the change to color (and back) halfway through. A time loop taxi film? I'm intrigued, it looks like a cool filmmaking experiment. Here's the...
