Exclusive: Freeform is in early development on drama series Rush. Written by Royal Pains co-creator Andrew Lenchewski and Kevin O’Hare and to be directed by Alexis Ostrander (Mayfair Witches), Rush is based on the Israeli series The Station, whose third season aired earlier this year.
It revolves around four high-school students who join Rush — a teenage first-responder program that exists nationally, and internationally. These young heroes work side-by-side with adult firefighters and EMTs, in real life-or-death emergencies. All while juggling their school work, home lives, and romantic entanglements. Our young heroes may find that by saving others, they may be able to save themselves.
Lenchewski, O’Hare and Ostrander executive produce alongside Underground’s Trevor Engelson (Snowfall), the original series’ creators Shahar Segall and Oren Jacobi, Add’s Hadas Mozes (Euphoria), Rinat Klien, Yaron Lichtenstein, as well as Hybe America’s Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson. “I remember being on set in New Orleans walking the backlot and thinking to myself, ‘wow, this is a high budget, A+ series that has not just the queer romance, but also a problematic one,'” reveals director Levan Akin about working on “Interview with the Vampire.” For our recent webchat he adds, “I had to pinch myself. I mean, I had to pinch myself all the time, just being there in New Orleans, because I’d actually been there 10 years before and I did an Anne Rice tour. So I was just like, I can’t believe I’m back filming this!” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

This article contains spoilers for Mayfair Witches episode 8.
Anne Rice’s most vividly unapologetic ambitious creation takes no prisoners as she is finally freed through bondage in Mayfair Witches‘ season finale, “What Rough Beast.” Dr. Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) claims her powers and her birthright, several times over, before the guest credits finish running.
Uprooted from her life as a rising neurosurgeon, Rowan learned everything she was raised to believe was a lie, and is the, desperately hidden, foretold “13 Witch” of the old and powerful Mayfair family. As newly appointed designee, Rowan not only inherits the family’s riches, but their curse. Lasher (Jack Huston) is a mysterious entity, increasingly entwined with the family for generations, and Rowan has been evading his advances. Everyone has her limits, in this installment Rowan learns she has none.

This article contains spoilers for the Interview with the Vampire season 1 finale.
The first chapter of AMC’s series adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire closed on unsubtle ambiguities. The season 1 finale took a turn from the novel, paying respect to the beloved New Orleans setting with a Mardi Gras going-away party to die for, and an almost equally lethal night cap.
Vampire family dysfunction overtook the pleasures of piercing flesh throughout the opening season, but blood ties proved tortuously gruesome on their own. The disarming charm of the majestic Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) was neutralized, and the seditious counterattack suffered internal sabotage. Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) disowned their unnatural parentage, and will be striking out on their own. But they are left with burning questions, and were given little information on life after life by the vampire who...

The 2022 edition will be the first in-person class of the workship since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Wbtv Directors’ Workshop launched in 2013 with the aim to discover new and innovative talent, to prepare directors from other creative fields for the transition to television, and to provide increased opportunities for women helmers and those from underrepresented groups. Since its founding, the Directors’ Workshop has helped to launch or further the TV directing careers of more than 60 women and/or people of color, according to Wbtv.
This year’s class was instructed by directors Bethany Rooney and Stacey K. Black.
Prior Directors’ Workshop graduates include Bola Ogun, Stacey Muhammad, Pamela Romanowsky, Marcus Stokes, Jennifer Phang, Alexis Ostrander, Sherwin Shilati, Michael Goi, Antonio Negret, Jude Weng, and Jaffar Mahmood, among many others.
The following participants, culled from more than 650 applicants, comprise the Class of 2022:

Graduates from Warner Bros. Television Group’s (Wbtvg) Directors’ Workshop class of 2019 are all ready to sit in the director’s chair. All participants of this year’s program have booked directing assignments on upcoming episodes of a Wbtvg series. On top of that, two of the directors have gone on to secure additional assignments — before even helming their first episode.
The Wbtvg Directors’ Workshop looks to discover new and innovative talent, prepare directors from other creative fields or the transition to television, and spur diversity and inclusion by providing increased opportunities for female directors and directors from ethnic minority groups. Since its inception in 2013, the Wbtvg Directors’ Workshop has helped to launch or further the TV directing careers of more than 50 women and/or people of color.
Below are the graduates from the Directors’ Workshop class and their directing assignments for the upcoming 2019–20 television season.

The American Film Institute has named 25 alumnae of the AFI Conservatory and AFI Conservatory Directing Workshop for Women to participate in the next phase of the Fox Filmmakers Lab. A partnership between AFI and 20th Century Fox, the Lab aims to increase the number of women directing major studio films — which was even lower last year than it was in 2015 — by giving them the chance to direct short films based on Fox titles: “Alien,” “Die Hard,” “The Omen,” “The Fly,” etc.

After developing their concepts in the coming months, the 25 directors will pitch their concepts to Fox executives; one or more of them will be chosen to make a short film based on their idea. Here are the 25 women who’ve advanced to the next phase of the Lab:

American Horror Story: Roanoke went full Blair Witch in Chapter 9. Here's our spoiler-filled review of the latest satisfying episode...
This review contains spoilers.
See related Power Rangers, boob armour, and impractical costumes
I watched this episode of American Horror Story through clenched fingers. No, that's not because it was scary (though it was pretty scary at times). Having flirted with Pov cameras in limited amounts this season, American Horror Story goes full-on Blair Witch in Chapter 9, which features a whole, whole lot of shaking camera, running, screaming, and tearful pre-death apologies. It's a lot to handle if you're even slightly motion sensitive.
Unfortunately for me, I'm highly motion sensitive. I get carsick if I try to read in a moving vehicle. I've listened to Cloverfield. I had to take medication after trying to watch As Above, So Below. I bought and gave away the video game Doom...
