Iron Maiden and Z2 Comics have announced a graphic novel based on the band’s Piece of Mind album, arriving November 21st. Below you can get an exclusive first look at the special alternate cover featuring Eddie as “The Trooper” and its accompanying collector’s card.
The graphic novel celebrates the 40th anniversary of the legendary 1983 album, which contains all-time Maiden classics such as “Where Eagles Dare,” “Die with Your Boots On,” and “The Trooper.”
With a solid track record of heavy metal collaborations with Anthrax, King Diamond, and more, Z2 Comics pulled out all the stops for Iron Maiden: Piece of Mind. Don’t expect Charlize Theron to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon. When asked if she knew when she was coming back to the franchise after her cameo at the end of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Theron was all shrugs.
“I haven’t gotten a call. Is that bad?” Theron told MTV reporter Josh Horowitz during the “Fast X” premiere in Rome. When pressed on the issue, the star assured Horowitz that she wasn’t lying three times then made a joke that he should cut her answer.
“No, that’s what we’re running,” Horowitz quipped back.
If you didn’t know that Theron was in the MCU, first of all, c’mon. She’s a huge name in Hollywood and a master of sci-fi action movies. Grass is green and of course Charlize Theron was going to appear in a Marvel movie. This...

Atomic Blonde 2 is, in a surprise reveal, a thing that’s happening… on Netflix, no less.
Charlize Theron, whose Netflix sci-fi action thriller, The Old Guard, just arrived on July 10, has revealed plans in an interview with Total Film to field another action offering for the streaming giant. However, rather than immediately following up that film, said offering will be a sequel to Atomic Blonde, the stylish Theron-headlined 2017 late-Cold-War spy thriller. Indeed, while there’s no news to cite for The Old Guard 2, Theron does reveal that she successfully pitched the once-mooted Atomic Blonde sequel—having also served as a producer on the original film—to Netflix through Scott Stuber, Head of Original Films.
“We went into [The Old Guard] talking about [a sequel] as a possibility, and it’s definitely something that excites us,” she explains. “We took [Atomic Blonde 2] to them and Scott Stuber, was really interested in it.

Fans of Visceral Games’ Dead Space series have reason to tune in and watch Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 5 event, it seems.
No, this sadly isn’t confirmation of EA’s plans to resurrect or remaster the beloved survival horror trilogy but it could well prove to be the next best thing. Writer Antony Johnston, who worked on a number of titles in the franchise, has confirmed that their next big project is going to be revealed during the aforementioned presentation tomorrow, though declines to specify exactly what that will be. Notifying his followers on Twitter, Johnston says:
As some of you know, I’ve been working on a big videogame for almost 2 years now. In totally unrelated news, you should all watch the PS5 launch event on Thursday.
Okay, so the obvious question first: what’s the game? Sadly, we haven’t the foggiest idea, though considering it’ll be...

10 Best Non-Superhero Comic-Book Movies of the 2010s, From ‘Atomic Blonde’ to ‘Snowpiercer’ (Photos)
Superhero movies, it has been (accurately) said, rule the box office. But although billions of dollars are made every year adapting comic books about costumed vigilantes, there is a whole universe of comic-book storytelling that frequently goes unexplored. Human dramas, light comedies, sci-fi and action comics alike, these works are frequently brought to the screen but sometimes overlooked by mainstream audiences who equate comics with the superhero genre. We were paying attention. These are the non-superhero comic book films that moved us and thrilled us this decade.
10. “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” (2017)
Audiences are bizarrely unkind to space operas that aren’t called “Star Wars,” which is a shame, because “Valerian” is one of the best in the genre. I don't know about you, but I thought Charlize Theron's hardcore action thriller Atomic Blonde was an awesomely entertaining film. She went all out for that role and in the process of shooting that first film, she seriously got the crap beat out of her. She even lost some teeth in the process! It looks like she's ready to put herself through even more pain!
During a recent interview with IndieWire, all she said was "We're working on a sequel." She didn't go into any details. Just that there's a sequel and it's in development. I enjoyed the first film, so I'm totally up for a high-octane, badass sequel!
In a previous interview, comic creator Antony Johnston talked about a possible sequel, saying:
"Everybody involved wants to do it again, from a creative point of view. All of the creators - [director] Dave [Leitch] , Kurt, Charlize - everybody wants to make another movie.

Looks like Ridley Scott has found a comic book that he wants to adapt into a feature film. The director is currently in talks with Fox to direct a film based on Queen and Country, the Eisner award-winning graphic novel by Greg Rucka.
Queen and Country is a spy thriller that is set in a fictional British Secret Intelligence Service. The story centers on an operative named Tara Chace, "a top British intelligence agent who is used as bait to draw out an international terrorist after an attack in London."
I've never read the comic, but I love a good spy thriller! This seems like it will be a great project for Scott, who most recently directed the fantastic film All The Money in the World. Scott has also been in talks with Disney to direct The Merlin Saga.

Stars: Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella, Bill Skarsgård, John Goodman, Toby Jones, Roland Moller | Written by Kurt Johnstad | Based on “The Coldest City” by Antony Johnston & Sam Hart | Directed by David Leitch
An ice cool Charlize Theron kicks plenty of ass in this stylish Cold War action thriller from the co-director of John Wick, but the script leaves a lot to be desired.
Sporting a distractingly dodgy British accent and a Debbie Harry-style peroxide blonde hair-do, Theron plays MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton, who’s sent into Cold War Berlin to investigate the murder of a fellow agent (Sam Hargrave) and recover a missing list of undercover agents. Her contact in Berlin is shady MI6 station officer David Percival (James McAvoy), who seems to have gone a little too deep undercover as a contraband-toting wheeler-dealer and appears to have his own agenda.

Charlize Theron excels as an action lead in this cold war spy story, adapted from graphic novel The Coldest City
I can’t think of any actor more deserving of their own pulpy action franchise than Charlize Theron. Having stolen Mad Max: Fury Road from Tom Hardy one-handed (literally), she is relentlessly, murderously brilliant in this adaptation of Antony Johnston’s graphic novel The Coldest City. The setting is Berlin just before the fall of the Wall; the paranoid hangover of the cold war is giving way to a new era of hungry opportunism. A British agent has been murdered; a valuable list is missing. And MI5 asset Lorraine Broughton (Theron, looking like Debbie Harry dipped in venom) is flown in to clear up the mess. There she butts heads with fellow agent David Percival (James McAvoy, skeevy-sexy, accessorised with beer sweats and casual treachery) and has a fling with...

MaryAnn’s quick take… The living, breathing, bleeding life of the breathtaking fight scenes cannot overcome confusingly twisty spy intrigue and multiple male gazes on the story. I’m “biast” (pro): I’m desperate for movies about women; love spy stuff
I’m “biast” (con): nothing

Berlin, 1989. The Wall is about to fall, but the Cold War isn’t over yet. MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron: The Fate of the Furious, Kubo and the Two Strings) is sent in to retrieve a missing list of all spies and operatives on all sides, if she can find it before the Soviets do. It’s an “atomic bomb of information,” not least because the list includes the identity of a double agent known as Satchel. Atomic Blonde — I guess because she’s so hot?...

Theron brings a sense of style – and some serious martial arts chops – to this frenetic spy caper set at the end of the cold war
Atomic Blonde is an action spy thriller starring Charlize Theron as the neon-lit badass warrior, sashaying frostily through many a Berlin nightclub in revealing evening wear, where she might accept with a knowing half-smile a Stoli-on-the-rocks and some badinage at the bar from various admirers, male and female, before putting the smackdown on some brutish East German thug.
It is adapted by screenwriter Kurt Johnstad from the graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnston and Sam Hart, and like many movies derived from graphic novels, it tends towards the frenetically edited, hyperactively silly and Ritchie-esque, and this isn’t helped by the flashback structure. But Atomic Blonde also has some terrifically good one-on-one combat scenes – much more continuously and realistically shot than the rest...

It seems like every few years the action genre gets an infusion of new blood. In the 80s it was Jackie Chan and his crazy stunts, in the 90s it was John Woo's Hong Kong cinema. In 2006 Neveldine and Taylor blew our minds with Crank and 2011 brought us The Raid: Redemption which seems to have kick-started a return to balls-to-the wall action culminating in John Wick, its sequel and now Atomic Blonde.
Based on Antony Johnston's "Atomic Blonde: The Coldest City" graphic novel series, the movie stars Charlize Theron as Lorraine Broughton, an MI6 agent sent to Berlin in final weeks before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Her mission is to track down an informant, code mane "Spyglass," who is in possession of a list of active field agents, among them a double agent. [Continued ...]...

Nobody does the spy thing better than Charlize Theron – and unlike 007, she does it in heels. And we use the term ‘kicking ass’ quite lightly.

The final trailer for Charlize Theron’s butt kicking all action hero outing, Atomic Blonde, has dropped to the pounding beat of Eurythmics, which features splattered blood and a whole host of rule breaking.

We’ve already had a number of teasers and trailers for Atomic Blonde, and it’s safe to say that it’s one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer. With Academy Award winner Charlize Theron in the lead role, the action-mystery-thriller adapts the 2012 graphic novel series The Coldest City (by Antony Johnston and Sam Hart), and sets the Mad Max: Fury Road star in an espionage-revenge narrative under the direction of John Wick’s David Leitch. The latest teaser, however, takes that anticipation to the next level.
It’s a glorious thing of beauty, this fight sequence, because it communicates to the audience both that the director is under no illusions about what he’s doing, and the star is having a whole lot of fun with it. We need no context for this teaser, because everything we need to know can be found within the subtext.

A new clip has been released for the upcoming action film Atomic Blonde and it features Charlize Theron completely destroying a bunch of thugs trying to kill her. She is a murdering machine! It's an incredibly fun clip and if you're into action films, there's no doubt you're gonna enjoy this. It's just a little taste of the crazy fight sequences that we'll see in the film. I've heard there's a jaw-dropping 10-minute long, real-time brawl to look forward to!
By the final stretch of this real-time brawl, Theron and her opponents are noticeably battered, panting, unsteady on their feet, and frequently backing away from each other to catch their breath and summon a second (and third and fourth and fifth) wind. It’s the alley fight from They Live, the street fight from that infamous Deadwood episode and any scene from The Raid were all combined into one of the most impressive action scenes…...

Amid the shiny, polished superhero movies we’re getting every few months in theaters, there seems to be a bit of a resurgence of edgier, more hard-hitting, mid-budget action fare. Between films like John Wick, Lucy, and The Accountant, it seems that audiences are growing hungrier for things that are different from the stuff we’ve been fed over the past several years. That’s nothing against the age of superheroes we’re living in (we Love our comic book movies), but it never hurts to change things up, and when all said and done, it’s nice to see other smaller, more original content find success.
Months ago, we got a chance to see the first trailer for such a project in Atomic Blonde. The film, which stars Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, and Sofia Boutella, premiered at SXSW, and featured a kickass female spy. Helming the project is David Lietch,...

The Coldest City, Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s graphic novel about the dangerous world of espionage, has been simmering on the back-burner ever since Charlize Theron swooped in to acquire the screen rights a few years back. That’s hardly surprising, either, given the actress’ busy, busy schedule, but we’re now only a few months away from welcoming Johnston and Hart’s Cold War thriller onto the big screen in the form of Atomic Blonde.
Universal has been busy promoting the release off the back of extremely positive reviews coming out of SXSW, and their campaign continues apace today with a brand new promo for David Leitch’s spy thriller, in which Theron’s best-in-class MI6 agent can be seen beating up goons in all kinds of brutal ways. We heard the slowed-down strains of New Order’s “Blue Monday” in the first Atomic Blonde trailer, which introduced Charlize Theron as Lorraine Broughton, a highly-trained assassin with killer looks (and boots). That refrain is still part of the new trailer, though the track now plays at regular speed to accompany more of Lorraine’s death-defying stunts. She uses her spiked heels as weapons, survives a car crash, and bludgeons some more goons to death while admitting that her life as a secret agent will eventually kill her—just not today. James McAvoy stars as an oddly chipper agent embedded in Germany, who quickly becomes infatuated with Lorraine. But she’s way more interested in the French contact played by Sofia Boutella.
Directed by David Leitch and adapted from Antony Johnston’s The Coldest City, Atomic Blonde knocks its way into theaters July 28.

Atomic Blonde is based on the Oni Press graphic novel by writer Antony Johnston and illustrator Sam Hart. The film was appropriately directed by John Wick co-director David Leitch and here's the synopsis:

Charlize Theron is proving to be a real force to be reckoned with in her combat skills, coming off the back of her appearance in Fast and Furious 8 where she plays villainous Cipher who will stop at absolutely nothing in her world domination, comes the second trailer for her John Wickesq outing, Atomic Blonde.
In the first trailer, we witnessed Theron kicking and punching her way through a horde of men before finding out she was, in fact, a secret agent tasked with a mission to stop her fellow agents from being picked off one by one with a less than gentlemanly James McAvoy in tow.
Atomic Blonde, which made its debut at SXSW Film Festival back in March, met with a mixed reaction from critics who described it as ‘technically dazzling’ yet has an ‘empty plot’, is being described as a sleek action with gritty sexuality.

Despite director David Leitch’s ties to Keanu Reeves, Atomic Blonde is no Lady John Wick. Cold War locales may radiate similar neon hues (Wick’s Russian bath house), but this espionage thrill-kicker is more about consequence then henchman disposal. Revenge is merely an underlying motivation, as government parties fight to keep a power struggle concrete while the Berlin wall crumbles down. Would a Wick/Blonde crossover be powerful enough to level cities? Undeniably. Let’s first appreciate what we have, though – Charlize Theron giving everyone in Atomic Blonde the fucking business.
Berlin, 1989. A German city loaded with secret government operatives, as East/West tensions reach their breaking point. Britain, France, America – everyone has agents in Germany, but a rumored list could out every name if it were to be exposed. This is why MI6 Agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) is sent to Germany, with a mission of retrieval. Her...

Charlize Theron seems to be in the Liam Neeson stage of her career. A couple years back, she put out Mad Max: Fury Road, where she played the badass Furiosa, and this year, she’ll have a hand in The Fate of the Furious, and now Atomic Blonde.
Now, we’re not ones for judging prematurely here, but we’ll be damned if this doesn’t look like a great time in the theaters. Not only does this film have the pedigree of Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman, and Toby Jones behind it, but it was also helmed by John Wick co-director David Leitch, whose next project is the high profile Deadpool 2.
Check out the trailer below:
We love the fact that this looks like a kickass popcorn flick, but it’s also another movie that’s in keeping with this trend of mid-budget action films. For a few years,...

The first full red-band trailer has been released for Charlize Theron's new hardcore action thriller Atomic Blonde! As you'll see, she kicks some major ass, much in the same way that Keanu Reeves kicked ass as John Wick. That's probably because the movie was helmed by John Wick co-director David Leitch.
Theron takes on the role of Agent Lorraine Broughton, and she looks like she's going to be one hell of a strong female action hero. The first minute of this three-minute trailer just shows Theron getting brutally savage on a couple thugs trying to take her down, but she hands their asses to them. In an interview with EW, the actress talked about the intense training she did for the film saying:
"Let’s be honest, I got my ass handed to me every day. I cracked through two of my teeth in the back of my mouth...

Charlize Theron proved to be an iconic action heroine in Mad Max: Fury Road. Meanwhile, David Leitch helped revitalize the genre after co-directing John Wick. Every so often, Hollywood manages to connect the dots, so, this summer, we get a collaboration between the two forces with Atomic Blonde. With its new, ’80s-esque title (it was originally going by The Coldest City), the actioner follows Theron’s character as a spy on a mission in Berlin. Ahead of the SXSW premiere, the first restricted trailer has now landed for the Kurt Johnstad-scripted film, based on Antony Johnston and Sam Hart‘s graphic novel.
“I hadn’t seen another character like her out there. She doesn’t apologize for anything. We made her strong and feisty. She’s cheeky. These were all things I responded to,” Theron tells EW, also opening up about the training. “Let’s be honest, I got...

The Coldest City, Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s graphic novel about the dangerous world of espionage, has been simmering on the back-burner ever since Charlize Theron swooped in to acquire screen rights a few years ago. That’s hardly surprising, given the actress’ busy, busy schedule, but we’re now only a few months away from welcoming Johnston and Hart’s Cold War thriller onto the big screen, and it’s got a new name to boot: Atomic Blonde.
Headed up choreographer-turned-director David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2), Atomic Blonde places Theron in the boots of Agent Lorraine Broughton, a best-in-class secret agent and the crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service. Dispatched on a top-secret mission to Berlin circa 1989 – just prior to the historic moment when the wall came tumbling down – Theron’s operative is chasing a high-priority target: a dossier containing the identities of all secret agents,...

Meet Agent Lorraine Broughton. Considered the crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Broughton is a force to be reckoned with – a near pitch-perfect mix of brains and brawn that will soon be dispatched to Berlin in 1989, just prior to the historic moment when the Berlin Wall was torn asunder.
When casting the net in search of his leading lady for Atomic Blonde – previously titled The Coldest City – choreographer-turned-director David Leitch (John Wick) had only one actress in mind: Charlize Theron. Two years on from the moment when the Oscar-winner stole headlines left, right, and center in Mad Max: Fury Road, the actress is ready to trade Furiosa for femme fatale, as her feisty, unforgiving Lorraine Broughton works to locate a top-secret dossier during one of the most politically volatile periods in Germany’s history. James McAvoy also stars as a fellow spy, and can be seen...
