Philip Button has been a leading executive in the entertainment & sports industry for over 15 years. Button began his career at the William Morris Agency (WMA) where he rose from the storied mail-room program to become SVP Global Sports & Entertainment. After the merger between WMA and Endeavor, Button was a Senior VP of the combined company, William Morris Endeavor (WME). Button has represented and worked with some of the most recognized personalities and brands around the world including; Academy Award winner Jackie Chan and his production company The JC Group, Golden Horse Award Winner Fan Bingbing, Academy Award, Grammy & Golden Globe Award winner Lionel Richie, Grammy Award winner Usher, Emmy Nominated Celebrity Chef & Lifestyle Personality Marcela Valladolid, Professional Golfer Michelle Wie, Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya & Golden Boy Promotions, Baseball Legend Alex Rodriguez, Basketball Hall of Famer Steve Nash & Meathawk Productions, MLB Los Angeles Dodgers, Global Icon Pelé, EPL's Chelsea Football Club, Manchester City FC and Mark Mastrov's New Evolution Ventures, a leading health & fitness investment company (24 Hour Fitness, Crunch, UFC Gym, Alex Rodriguez's Energy Fitness).
In 2019 Button launched Seven XV Ventures, a diversified entertainment and sports company that partners with talent, athletes and brands to develop and produce content for distribution across all media platforms and to create branded lifestyle ventures. Seven XV also advises companies on strategic partnerships, acquisitions and investments. Seven XV partners include Jackie Chan and his production company, the JC Group; Will & Jada Smith's global content creation company Westbrook Studios; Emmy Nominated Celebrity Chef & Lifestyle Personality Marcela Valladolid and her company Casa Marcela Inc; Propagate Content, an independent content production company, Kevin Hart's HartBeat Productions and award winning creative and production company Stept Studios.
Button was previously Executive Vice President, International Production & Management for STX Entertainment. In his role, Button focused on International Productions & Sino-Foreign co-productions, talent partnerships, new business ventures and establishing strategic partners that contributed to the growth of STX Entertainment on a global scale. Button was an Executive Producer of the $145+ million global box office hit "The Foreigner" starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan which was directed by Martin Campbell. He was instrumental in the development of the project and putting together the financing and distribution of the Sino-Foreign Co-Production between Beijing based SR Media and STXfilms. Button also helped secure a partnership for STXfilms with Tencent Pictures (the film & television arm of China's internet and social media giant Tencent) and Free Association, Channing Tatum's production company, to co-produce a film adaption of the mega-hit "Zombie Brothers," the top title of Tencent's digital comics and animation platform.
Button, who is bilingual in Spanish, holds a B.A. in History with a specialization in Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He resides in Los Angeles and San Diego with his partner, Marcela Valladolid, and their children Fausto, David and Anna Carina.
