Guy Pearce has recently wrapped production on “Inside,” an Australian crime thriller and coming of age drama film. The picture is the debut feature of Charles Williams, whose short film “All These Creatures” won the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
The story sees after a young man transferred from juvenile to adult prison, where he is taken under the wing of both Australia’s most despised criminal, and a soon-to-be-a-paroled inmate. A paternal triangle grows between them, suggesting that even the worst of men may have a little bit of good inside them — that will be their eventual undoing.
The cast is headed by Pearce, Cosmo Jarvis and newcomer Vincent Miller. Supporting actors include Toby Wallace, Tara Morice, Chloé Hayden (“Heartbreak High”) and Michael Logo (“Colin From Accounts”).

As a sector grows, it adds more specialist infrastructure. Taking place Oct. 20-21 and organised by the Feria de Valladolid and Spain Film Commission, Spain’s Shooting Locations Marketplace is a case in point and part of Spain’s drive to consolidate as one of the world’s foremost big shoot locales.
“The Spain Film Commission’s policy is to target specific industry segments, beginning with location managers,” Spain Film Commission president Carlos Rosado said at Valladolid.
The Marketplace is a case in point, coming as the value of locations has grown to become a basic consideration in a highly competitive new content scene. “There’s an exponential increase of productions that has raised the need to set each story in a unique location which meets both producers and directors criteria,” Rosado added. Following, seven takeaways:

Game on. In a bold move to reenergize São Paulo’s production scene, city authorities are bowing Brazil’s inaugural rebate scheme for international and local shoots, launching a call for applications on July 6, the first day of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Since the turn of the century São Paulo consolidated its place as Brazil’s foremost film-tv hub and the biggest, with Mexico City, in Latin America. And now shoots have returned.
Pre-pandemic, Brazil’s financial capital served as one of the backdrops to the Keanu Reeves-produced dystopian sci-fi series “Conquest” as well as “Black Mirror” episode “Striking Vipers,” Amazon Prime’s “September Mornings,” the Wachowskis’ “Sense8,” and multiple other shows from Netflix, as well as Amazon Prime, Disney and Fox.
Among projects filming in the city now are Netflix’s “De volta aos 15” and Fox’s “Silvio Santos.”

With production in Moscow continuing at a steady clip throughout the coronavirus pandemic after a brief lockdown last spring, industry insiders believe the Russian capital can blossom into one of the world’s next shooting hotspots.
That was the takeaway from a panel discussion that was held this week during the virtual Key Buyers Event, which takes place online June 8-10.
“Moscow, and Russia in general, is underrated as a production destination,” said Val Kupeev, head of international relations and production service for Bazelevs, which has serviced productions such as Amazon Prime’s “Jack Ryan,” FX series “The Americans,” and Fox’s “Red Sparrow.”
“We have over 200 big and small productions a year, maybe more,” he continued, noting that Bazelevs has the capacity to service two to four largescale studio projects a year, as well as several smaller shoots and numerous commercials. “I’m pretty confident in what we have here.

Mark Rylance is taking a mulligan on his next project, signing on to play Maurice Flitcroft in a new film called “The Fantastic Flitcrofts” about the man who qualified for the British Open Golf Championship in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history.
Craig Roberts will direct the heart-warming true story about the dreamer and unrelenting optimist Flitcroft who became a folk hero after his disastrous performance. Simon Farnaby (“Paddington 2”) is writing the screenplay for “The Fantastic Flitcrofts” based on his book “The Phantom Of the Open” Farnaby co-wrote with Scott Murray.
If you want to know just how bad Flitcroft was, he didn’t have a handicap and instead merely posed as a professional. And when he managed to qualify, he shot a round of 121, or 49 over par. Other pros even demanded a refund of their entry fees for having to play alongside him, and he...

Making its American Film Market premiere, after a small festival run in the UK, is Slaughtered , an Australian slasher film from writer-director Kate Glover. Originally called Schooner of Blood (thank God, they made a moniker change), the pic now has a trailer which you can watch below. Here, a masked killer terrorizes the young bar staff at a remote Australian pub. As night falls, and the body count rises, it's not just the drinkers who are the ones getting slaughtered. Chloe Boreham, Christopher Tomkinson and Cassandra Swaby star. Glover also developed the upcoming Psychosis through the production outfit Red Sparrow.

Fango received a couple of pics (see them below) and info on a new Australian stalk-and-slasher called Slaughtered, from first-time writer/director Kate Glover. It was originally titled Schooner Of Blood, after a Down Under slang term for a beer mug, before being rechristened for the international market, lest audiences think it takes place on a boat.
The setting is actually a pub in the Outback where the arrival of a new worker coincides with the start of a massacre of the staff by a mysterious someone lurking in the basement. The cast includes Chloe Boreham, Steven O’Donnell, Roger Smith, Michael Lewis and Casi Swaby; Aline Joyce, whose credits include I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer and X-men Origins: Wolverine, created the makeup FX. Glover, who was only 22 at the time, shot Slaughtered at night in a bar where she worked by day, scaring up the...
