Just like her character Damini Roy from ‘Four More Shots Please!’, actress Sayani Gupta always speaks her mind. She agrees, though, that it can backfire sometimes. Sayani in a conversation said: “It always backfires but that’s not the point. You say something because it bothers you and you feel like you need to lend your voice to it.”
“You pick and choose your battles but you don’t shy away from speaking your mind for injustice so that is something I have lived by all my life,” she added.
Sayani agrees that she is under more scrutiny as she is an actor.
“The fact that I am an actor makes want to get better but it doesn’t stop me from saying what I believe in. But having said that, we are getting older… figuring lesser battles to fight because you feel sometimes what is the point.”

Four More Shots, Please! Season 3(Amazon Prime)
Directed by Joyeeta Patpatia
Unalloyed fun… the sassy quartet is back with a bang. Many bangs, actually, considering the predominance of carnal activities. No harm in that. Anjana(Kirti Kulhari), Siddhi(Maanvi Gagroo), Umang(Bani J), and Damini(Sayani Gupta) have a healthy appetite for the good things in life, including sex. They are not apologetic about their hedonism, or afraid to fall flat on their face when their heels can’t balance their drinks.
What to do? Sometimes, no , make that very often times, things don’t go according to plan. Of the four characters Siddhi is the most adroitly etched. She is a rich spoilt brat and she makes no bones about it. There is a marginally captivating subplot about Siddhi’s lately-widowed mother and her…errrr… golden vagina. Every middle aged man in the neighbourhood wants to woo her.And her golden spot.

Amazon is pushing further into zones exploring human relationships. Their new anthology Kaali Peeli Tales in the ‘Mini TV’ series seems like a good way to re-acquaint ourselves with the vernacular of the urban nomad. These are characters you would probably run into in Mumbai’s suburbs while waiting for a taxi or bus.
Kaali Peeli Tales is a heartwarming anthology of six unique stories which navigate through the intricacies of modern-day relationships. Set in the fast-paced city of Mumbai, the six stories revolve around young and cosmopolitan characters who are on crossroads of change and acceptance in their individual lives. Mumbai’s iconic ‘Kaali Peeli’ takes the center stage and becomes the connecting thread between the six stories, depicting how the ‘Kali Peeli’ is not just a taxi, but holds sentimental significance for a lot of us.

Actress Nyra Banerjee, who plays the role of a phone sex operator in the series "Hello Jee" says: "I think people find the situations and characters more relatable. Also, Ott has an audience which is comparatively more open to various scenarios the women are. They are more accepting."

Actress Maanvi Gagroo says her opinion on Ott censorship has changed over the years. While she was wholly against the idea till a while back, she now feels some sort of a regulation is necessary, though it need not be censorship.
"Earlier I was against censorship and I thought there should be self-censorship. If I am an adult and I am 18-plus, I should be able to watch whatever I want. Ott is not like television that you switch it on and whatever comes on, you will have to watch it. There are many steps of filtration in Ott -- like downloading, subscribing and choosing content," Maanvi tells.
However, something did change her mind subsequently.
"Now I feel when anything becomes popular and the numbers start increasing, you have to bring some sort of regulation so that nothing is exploited. Regulation does not necessarily mean censorship. Regulation means you keep an eye on certification,...

Mumbai, Jan 28 (Ians) Maanvi Gagroo returns as Sidhi in the third season of the popular web series Four More Shots Please. She says the success of the story happened because a large section of the audience felt represented on screen.
"Till now we had not seen such characters on screen, but it doesn't mean that they don't exist in real life. Of course, these are slightly dramatised versions but these things happen. There are women who drink and party, make their own money, and make mistakes. They live life on their own terms. They are regular people trying to lead life on their terms. I don't think the purpose of this show is to change any mindset. I think a huge section of the audience felt that they got represented. "After reading the script, I was skeptical about how will they position something that's palatable but at the same time make a bold statement? Another big concern for me was the fact that I had to play a mother. I wasn't ready for this and I had the fear of being typecast into that role, which has been quite prevalent in the industry," Kirti said.
"I kept questioning whether I should take the plunge and play a role, which could probably change my image and affect the type of work or opportunity that could come my way.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana,Jitendra Kumar, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta,Maanvi Gagroo
Written & Directed by Hitesh Kewalya
Why are films about gay people so sad? They are either about AIDS or star-crossed same-sex lovers who are doomed to die or suffer, take you pick.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan(Smzs) breaks the glass ceiling and the gaze that sees the ling …it not only normalizes a same-sex relationship, it compels the homophobic onlookers—the frowning family and the sniggering relatives—to come around , to …well…if not accept than succumb to the pressures of normalizing homosexuality that seems to be building up like gathering clouds all around the homophobic cartel of wedding revellers, none more so than patriarch Shankar Tripathi who sees his only darling son Aman (impressive debutant Jitendra Kumar) kissing with his friend in a train filled with wedding revellers.
Crazy things keep happening all through Smzs,...

Ujda Chaman
Starring Sunny Singh, Maanvi Gagroo
Directed by Abhishek Pathak
Fate is a strange bird. It brings good fortune most randomly to souls. Why else did Kartik Aryan become a star after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety while the equally talented Sunny Singh who played Tutu got left behind?
Hopefully Sunny will catch up with Ujda Chaman, a stinging and partially sharp and always blunt satire which takes potshots at the Adonis-Venus stereotype of Male and Female perfection that our cinema has propagated ever since Madhubala was wooed and won by Dilip Kumar. Ujda Chaman tells us how heroic it is to be flawed so long as we accept our shortcomings.
We all know that there is nothing perfect about life, not the relationships and certainly not the pulls and pressures that bring couples together in a conflicted embrace. One such couple is the 30-year old bald but undefeated...
