Heather Locklear is ready to revive her “reputation” with the upcoming Melrose Place reboot. The actress officially joined the hit Fox series in Season 2 and gave the show the push it needed to succeed. Now, with MP in talks to come back, Locklear is ready and raring to go. Keep reading for more details on what her hopes are for the new version.
Heather Locklear Ready To Revive ‘Rep’ With Melrose Place
For many years, Heather Locklear was known as a blonde bombshell actress. She gained notoriety on Dynasty and T.J. Hooker plus she had been married to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee. However, it was her role as determined and direct Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place that brought her back as a household name. She garnered many accolades and helped to make the show the hit it was. Once it ended, she had some minor guest roles. Yet, the...

A revival of ’90s hit “Melrose Place” is in the works at CBS Studios, with original stars Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton set to return, TheWrap has learned.
The Darren Star-created night-time soap followed the complicated lives of several 20-somethings who lived in a Los Angeles apartment complex called Melrose Place, where the drama included a bombing, a drowning and a “Dynasty”-esque pool fight.
Locklear played advertising exec Amanda Woodward, whose addition to the show late in the first season helped boost ratings at the time. Zuniga played Jo Reynolds on the series from 1992 to 1999 while Leighton played Sydney Andrews, sister of Josie Bassett’s character Jane.
Lauren Gussis of “Dexter” and “Insatiable” fame is set to write and executive produce the revival, which would see the “Og residents” returning when one of their friends die. Per the logline, the reunion “uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances,...

It’s been almost 25 years since Melrose Place ended so for the show’s silver anniversary, Hollywood is bringing three of its original stars back to the title locale for another round of the dishy soap opera. As reported by Deadline, cast members Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton, and Daphne Zuniga are all attached to the reboot as both stars and executive producers. It is reportedly in development at CBS Studios, which is looking for a network or streaming home for the series, including pitching to its original network home at Fox. The new edition of the ’90s classic drama, which was a spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210, is written by Lauren Gussis and revisits the show’s original characters. The characters will be brought back together by the death of one of their mutual friends. But that reunion might not be a happy one, as familiar and new tensions emerge.

In the new installment, when one of their dearest friends dies suddenly, the Og residents of Melrose Place gather to honor the deceased. Tonight, VH1′s Hit the Floor, one of summer TV’s potential guiltiest pleasures, debuts at 9 p.m. Et. The scripted show, from first-time showrunner James Larosa, centers on the Devil Girls, the dance squad for a fictional La basketball team. There’s naive rookie Ahsha (Taylour Paige), whose mother (Kimberly Elise) was an original Devil Girl and doesn’t want her daughter to follow in her footsteps; Kyle, a gold-digging stripper (Katherine Bailess); and Raquel (Valerie Ortiz), the seemingly sweet single mom. But you know we’re all about Jelena (Logan Browning), the ruthless captain. Looking at the picture above,...

The cast of "Melrose Place" had a reunion yesterday in L.A. -- the first time we've seen some of them together since the show went off the air back in 1999.Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Josie Bissett all reprised their roles as Amanda Woodward, Sydney Andrews and Jane Mancini, respectively, on The CW's recent reboot of the long-running soap, but yesterday they were joined by some other familiar faces.Grant Show, Laura Leighton, Andrew Shue and, most surprisingly, Marcia Cross were also spotted as the group left a photo shoot on Thursday afternoon. No word on which other cast members were there or which magazine the shoot was for -- but it's likely tied to the fact that it's been 20 years since the show first debuted on Fox back in 1992. How time flies!Check out the gallery above to see how they all look now.Plus, take a look...

It's time for another Indie Flick Off the Radar. This week we're checking out Artois the Goat on DVD, The Good, the Bad, the Weird on Blu-ray and Soundtracker on DVD. Hollywood has lots of explosions, big budgets and even bigger stars to bring attention to its offerings. But all the money in the world doesn’t guarantee a good film (*cough* *cough* Transformers), and a lack thereof doesn’t mean a film can’t capture the imaginations of its audience. There are plenty of great movies made on independent budgets, outside of Hollywood or even the United States, or that get straight-to-dvd releases. In Off the Radar, Bill takes a look at the best and worst of indie, foreign and straight-to-dvd releases. Artois the Goat DVD Artois the Goat is an interesting premise, for sure. Virgil Gurdies (Mark Scheibmeir) is in love with Angie (Sydney Andrews). But when things...

I would like to destroy who ever pulled the hit and run tonight on Pretty Little Liars, because not only is the life of my favorite character in limbo, but I will have to wait to this winter to find out who the culprit was. Bastards! Other than that, more secrets were revealed and shameful acts pulled, but the most horrendous thing that happened was the torture of seeing Mona's name all over the place. I'm sick of that bitch. Anyone else feel the same? Anyway…
Pretty Little Liars Know How to Walk Into The Web of Danger and Get Eaten Alive in the Process
The girls start off talking about the return of Ian, Melissa's ex (and the first guy of Melissa's that Spencer fell for). Mona then shows up to invite the girls to her birthday bash, which she has dubbed Camp Mona and will feature "glamping", which is glamorous camping.

Self-indulgence is fine in moderation. After all, it’s a fine line, especially in film, between personal endeavor and audience satisfaction. Zack Snyder’s slavish commitment to recreating Alan Moore’s landmark Watchmen on the silver screen robbed the film of any personality and delivered a production held together by terrific set design. Nowhere near the bore that Watchmen was, Artois the Goat nevertheless dips into the pool of over-indulgence a few times throughout its much-too-long runtime of 2 hours. The Bogart brothers, who wrote and directed this pronouncedly quick-witted film, arm it with a curious premise: Virgil (Mark Scheibmeir, looking every bit like a younger Peter Serafinowicz), a lab technician whose flavor additive testing job is a mind-numbing daily grind, turns his life upside down in order to make the perfect cheese. There’s also the matter of a new job in Detroit, a suffering long-distance relationship with his beloved...

Laura Leighton is back where she belongs, on TV, with a cool role on a promising new series. The actress, who earned her place in small-screen history playing Sydney Andrews on Melrose Place (Original Series) (TV) -- and who reprised that part in the recent, short-lived redux -- co-stars on the ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars (TV), which premieres tonight. Based on the young-adult novels by Sara Shepard, the story follows four teenaged girls (Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Troian Bellisario) whose friendship is put to the test when Alison, the fifth member of their clique, disappears and is later found dead, but continues to reach out to them, letting each one know -- via notes and texts signed "A" -- that she's around and knows all their secrets. Is Alison dead and reaching out from beyond the grave? Is she somehow alive and toying with her pals?...

Laura Leighton as a mother?!? This is a role many long-time Melrose Place viewers can't imagine, as the actress rose to fame on that primetime soap opera by portraying evil, promiscuous vixen Sydney Andrews.
But Leighton shows off a different side on Pretty Little Liars, which debuts on ABC Family next week. TV Fanatic took part in a conference call with the star a couple days ago and have excerpted her thoughts on character Ashley Marin below...
On the appeal of her character: It’s a juicy part. It’s challenging, always, to have a character that’s acting sort of outside your own moral compass; making choices that you wouldn’t necessarily make. Ashley is certainly finding herself in the position of making some parenting choices and choices in general for herself and her family that are a little bit shocking.
On playing a single mother: Hanna is her daughter.

Austin-shot indie Artois the Goat, which premiered at SXSW 2009 (with a live goat at the Ritz and everything) has finally made it to DVD after a long and successful film-fest tour. It's a sweet romantic comedy/foodie film from Cliff Bogart and Kyle Bogart (we sure do love our brother filmmaking teams in this town) that deserves more attention than it's received so far.
Virgil (Mark Scheibmeir) is a lanky slacker who spends his days working in a lab that creates artificial flavorings, and his spare time with the woman he loves, Angie (Sydney Andrews), often enjoying foreign goat cheeses procured (perhaps not entirely legally) by Virgil's mysterious and paranoiac friend Yens (Stephen Taylor Fry). Angie is unfortunately transferred to Detroit, however, and it could be a year before Virgil's company can place him in the department where he wants to work. The second iteration of Melrose Place had its share of ups and downs.
After last night's epic season finale, though, all we can say is that the clash of Wpk titans actually lived up to the hype, and that if the CW doesn't suck it up and give MP a second season, some interns here at Tvf are seriously gonna break $h!t.
In our review of "Wilshire," we begin with the undercard, so to speak, before leading up to the heavyweight bout. First up? David trying to fix things with Lauren.
Unfortunately, Morgan is bat$h!t insane and doing her best Violet impression, only Melissa Ordway has more acting chops in her left pinky than Ashlee Simpson.
In any case, Lauren shows up at Coal to congratulate David on his achievements when Morgan basically pulls an Alpha Female move and calls dibs on him. Snap.
He chases after Lauren and they make up.

The CW. If You Don't Renew Melrose Place I Will Release The Kraken. 2012. The Cloverfield Monster. Godzilla. Anything That I Can Find On Your Ass So Tough That You Will Wish Like Hell That You Would Have Never Formed As A Network To Begin With!!!!!
On to the recap.
Morgan aka The Thorn in David's Side aka Violet's Even Crazier Replacement
David is close to mending things with Lauren, but who decides to pull a Violet? Morgan. She thinks its best to have David meet her father and introduces him as her new boyfriend. Don't remember when they decided to be a couple? No? Well, neither does David. But Daddy Dearest makes it clear to David that he loves it when his daughter is smiling and tends to get homicidal when she's not. Either way is not good for David now, especially when Coal is about to have it's big reopening.

The prospects of a renewal for rookie revamp Melrose Place looks rather bleak at this point, but from the looks it's not going down without a fight. For starters, Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) is ... alive?
No, she isn't. Don't let the episode photos fool you. It's probably just some flashback or dream sequence.
On tonight's season/series closer "Wilshire" Amanda (Heather Locklear) versus Ella (Katie Cassidy) reaches a new height when Amanda fires Ella from Wpk and Ella searches for absolutely anything to blackmail Amanda. Judging from the promos, it involves a very important painting. The end result is supposedly worse than they could have ever imagined."

"Melrose Place" airs its Season 1 finale on Tuesday, April 13. While some of us at Zap2it are still hoping for a miracle, the likelihood of a Season 2 is getting more dubious by the day, so this may be your last chance to see long time favorites like Amanda Woodard (Heather Locklear) and Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton).
Yes, Laura Leighton is back, as confirmed by the photos below. It's possible that she's returning for another flashback, but since Sydney appears to be sitting in the Wpk offices, we're guessing that it's some kind of dream or vision of Amanda's.
Last week, Amanda fired Ella (Katie Cassidy) after setting her up to be busted for embezzlement. If anyone can out-blackmail Amanda Woodward, though, it's our girl Ella, so we're sure she won't go down without a fight.

In the second to last episode of the first and possibly final season of Melrose Place, David learned the downside of club ownership and Ella sought to unmask her enemy.
Elsewhere, Lauren totally feels bad about being a ho, love triangles are heating up and Nick Zano enjoys being shirtless. That's pretty much "Sepulveda" in a nutshell.
Uncover freakout: Ella tries to persuade Jonah to help her infiltrate Amanda's plan to oust her at Wpk, but Jonah, being a freaking moron, is unmoved by her tactics.

The clock is winding down on Melrose Place with it's season, and (sadly) possible, series finale and the ratings are still looking anemic. The show has not only taken a beating in the ratings game, but with snarky critics and non-fans as well. Non-fans are calling for the cancellation of the show for reasons ranging from simple competition for slots for One Tree Hill and new hit Life Unexpected to just people who have some sort of need to hate something that doesn't pertain to them. You know… Like people against the recently passed health care bill. But I digress. Melrose Place needs someone to stand up for it in it's time of need and I feel like I am that man for the job. So whatever the reasoning behind people's dislike for the show, I am here to plead Melrose Place's case for a second season and will...

It hasn't even been two weeks since Zap2it reported that ABC cast Daniel Cosgrove in the role of young William Walker in its "Brothers & Sisters" two-hour flashback episode.
Now, reports say that Cosgrove has been replaced and former "Melrose Place" hunk, Colin Egglesfield, has stepped into young William Walker's shoes.
We last saw Egglesfield as Auggie in The CW's "Melrose Place" reboot. The bartender, who struggled with his demons as a recovering alcoholic, shared a past with Sydney Andrews. After she was found dead, Egglesfield's character was accused of her murder and he made himself scarce.
As Zap2it's Korbi TV reported, Egglesfield's untimely departure from "Melrose Place" created a stir among its fans and we started a watch for where the handsome star would land next.
Now, it seems he has jumped networks to ABC and "Brothers & Sisters." If the news is true, we're sad to see Cosgrove go.

Two catfights, one "murder", one heck of a revelation and an overdose all under an hour. If you don't think Melrose was crazy tonight then I need your Primetime Soap Viewer membership card. Asap!!!! I'm serious. I am collecting nonbelievers' memberships, because they don't know MP crazy if it stabbed them in the back and left them to die. Rant over. Now onto the recap…
The Set Up
Everyone is having some loving at 4616 Melrose Place. Except Ella that is.
She is upset that Jonah hasn't returned her calls or texts and she really wants to apologize to him for backstabbing him on the music video credit. Lauren ponders why would Ella be so upset about someone being mad at her, since Ella is prone to piss people off. Ella says that Jonah was the only person who got her. Lauren sees clear through this and tells Ella that Jonah...

Even in Melrose Place’s heyday starring deranged Kimberly, I don’t recall an underwater catfight that resulted in murder. So congratulations, Melrose Place 2.0, you have set a new benchmark with this episode. I had hoped our patience with so-so plotlines like Anton V and his boring denim line would pay off – and Melrose writers gave us a early Christmas present with this episode cramming in everything but the kitchen sink. Let’s see, "San Vicente" gave us murder, sex, drugs, theft, broken hearts, kidnapping, a Hollywood deal, a relapsed alcoholic, police deception, adultery, Katie Cassidy in black lace...

Did anyone think that Melrose finally ramped up the volume on the crazy last night? Well, I sure as hell did! We had a psychotic ex-boyfriend/brother, backstabbing friends, scheming fathers and scheming sons, and the search for what is slowly becoming the Holy Grail for our beloved Amanda Woodward. No not the item that she is looking for, but the reason behind her canoodling with Sydney Andrews in keeping said item. What in God's name could prompt Amanda trust Sydney of all people? I still have scientists and other scientific working on that paradox as we speak. Until we find that answer, how about that recap? Update: I Bet I found that answer!!!! Read after the recap!!!!!

Now let's mosey on down to Melrose Place where childish antics are a thing of the past for these tantalizing tenants as they now have to deal with either being a murderer, an accessory to a murder, a prostitute, or certifiable compared to high school drama. Being a grown up is hard work these days, but the residents of MP are pros as we will see during sweeps. So let's get started!
Money Can't Buy It. Oh, Really?!
When a Wpk client O.D's on drugs, Caleb orders for PR damage control and has Ella be his right hand man. When Caleb reveals that the client is at Ula Medical, Ella knows that she has a surefire win in this debacle since Lauren is a doctor there. When Ella arrives, she checks to see if the guy is Ok and if he has any type of medical allergies. She also...

One week after it is announced that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz will leave "Melrose Place," Jessica Simpson writes on her Twitter that the show is "crap."
"Catching up on MP. Who writes this crap?" Jessica wrote on her Twitter page. "I have had bad scripts to work with, but this?"

Simpson, 29, continues, crediting her sister's short-lived role for generating buzz for the show. "Thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.

When Laura Leighton got wind of the CW's plans to reboot the 1990s soap sensation "Melrose Place," she shrugged and assumed she would have nothing to do with it. "I figured I was dead," she says with a laugh.Indeed, Leighton's tenure as flame-haired vixen Sydney Andrews on the original "Melrose" ended fairly decisively: After five seasons of blackmail, prostitution, and assorted schemes gone awry, the character was mowed down by an out-of-control car on her wedding day. But producers of the new series had other ideas, and they approached Leighton with a twisty story line straight out of the golden age of nighttime soaps. "They basically thought there was a way Sydney could've faked her death," explains Leighton. "And the real twist is, in the pilot, she's found murdered in the pool. And then we'll have this interesting way of going back in time through flashbacks to put together the pieces.

Amanda Woodward, how we have Missed You!!!! The bitch game has not been the same since you left and if anyone can think of one character on TV who has surpassed Amanda's soapy bitchery, please send me an email explaining your reasoning behind your choice, no matter how much I will refuse to believe such blasphemy.
Anyway folks, here is a pic of Heather back on the set in her signature miniskirt to fit her character. Her first episode airs on November 17th and will feature Josie Bissett (Jane Andrews), Thomas Calabro (Michael Mancini), Daphne Zuniga (Jo Reynolds), and Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews). Yes a Melrose Place reunion worth foaming at the mouth over. Are you guys not excited yet!?!?!?!

Writer's Note: Sorry for the delay for this recap. The bandwith near here was not up to par and it slowed down the wireless something terrible. Again I apologize for not sharing the insanity that was Melrose Place any sooner, but here I am!
Last night’s Melrose Place brought back Josie Bissett’s Jane Andrews and brought more scheming and backstabbing that I know that Sydney Andrews is beaming from heaven…or hell… or the Witness Protection Program. Either way, she would be one proud bitch. Let’s summarize!
The episode isn’t called “Vine”, just because. The title fits with the allegory of people willing to climb over others to get to where they want to be, which is what a plenty of our residents did tonight.
While David was getting up close and personal with a female in his car, he notices a guy monitoring his every move.

"Melrose Place" is about to get deliciously ugly -- Heather Locklear will reprise her role as bad girl Amanda Woodward on the revamped series.
"We're ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to Melrose Place," executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer revealed in a statement to Us Weekly. "Heather's involvement in the show is something we've been working on for some time as we couldn't imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character's inclusion.

It seems The CW has officially enticed Heather Locklear into reprising her role as the savior bitch of Melrose Place. She'll return to the sexy apartment complex on the network's new remake starting Nov. 17. Here, a refresher of what we have in store, from the season Locklear came to the rescue of the original. (Why oh why was it so satisfying to watch her eviscerate poor Allison, the character we were supposed to actually like?): Of course, Locklear will be joining original Melrosers Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro -- who were baked into the DNA of the redo, which revolves around the murder of Leighton's Sydney Andrews -- as well as Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga, who'll also be showing up this season. And there's no denying the pleasure that is watching Locklear as Amanda Woodward. But I'm also wondering if the new show -- struggling to gain its...

Who is your favorite new character?
JonahBro: Jonah. He reminds me of an older Seth Cohen and makes me think Rachel Bilson might eventually appear on the show.
MelroseFace: Violet. Just kidding!!! I'll go with Auggie. That closing scene made me intrigued by him.
DaphneZunigaWillHaveHerRevenge: There's more than one? I was unaware that Ella had a supporting cast around her.
How long until Jonah and Riley break up?

Only 7 minutes into the new Melrose Place, and there's already a dead body in the pool. We had high hopes that the rebooted show would build on the '90s original in terms of trashy, scandalous fun, and this pilot starts with even more of a bang. Murder? Check. Inappropriate sexual tension? Check. Prostitution? Check. Lying and blackmail? Check. Girl-on-girl action? Check. Things kicked off as a still-radiant Laura Leighton returns to the show as Sydney Andrews, who seemingly faked her own death 11 years ago -- with the help of old flame/ex-brother-in-law Michael (the also-returning Thomas Calabro) -- before returning to the infamous apartment complex as the landlord and resident cougar. Bad-boy tenant David was her latest prey. Sydney lured David over for drinks late one night and announced: "Something’s happened. I've done something really, really bad." We'll have to find out what the bad, bad thing is in flashback,...

There were plenty of twists and turns on Tuesday's premiere episode of the CW's revamped Melrose Place. Spoiler Alert: And the biggest of all was the shocking death of Laura Leighton's returning character Sydney Andrews, whose lifeless body was discovered floating in the famed apartment complex's pool. But is Sydney, who was already killed off on the original Melrose Place -- back in 1997, she was hit by a car on her wedding day -- really dead this time? "As far as I know," Leighton tells People. The actress, who filmed her latest TV death in the spring, had to keep her lips sealed all summer about Sydney's fate. "It's been difficult, but it was an important secret to keep," says Leighton, 41. "It's a lot easier now that the cat is completely out of the bag." Fear not, Sydney fans: Leighton says that while Sydney might be dead, she's still...

The CW will introduce the new neighbors of L.A.'s hippest apartment complex Tuesday when Melrose Place premieres, but among them will be returning stars Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews) and Thomas Calabro (Michael Mancini). "Thomas and I have shared that mutual feeling about doing this all those years ago and now coming back and to play these roles again ... it's a little bit surreal but really fun." Adds Calabro, 50, "I just feel like I'm the luckiest guy on earth. I was on one hit show for seven years and then that bloody show comes back! And from what I can see, it's going to be another hit. In a nutshell, the return of Melrose Place is some of the old and a dash of the new.
Sure, there's the customary bunch of twenty-something's who all dwell in an "elegant Spanish-style" apartment building in the Melrose neighborhood in Los Angeles. Back from the iconic 90s series are Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) and Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro). Sydney is Melrose Place's new landlady, and she described her character as "doomed to be the center of controversy" - even at 40. And right off the bat, we know that she started an affair with Mancini's son, David Breck (Shaun Sipos). Fortunately, both father and son know the extent of Sydney's blackmailing capacity, but their situation are in no way cozy.

I've noticed something about CW shows that the new Melrose Place pilot only seems to confirm: the pilot episodes of CW shows are filled – positively Filled – with (current) pop songs. In the first three minutes of the episode alone you'll listen to "Let it Rock" and "Poker Face". In the first three minutes. I noticed this in the pilot for The Beautiful Life and I remember it from the 90210 pilot in 2008.
[Warning! This review will contain spoilers] I'm not crazy about the rebotted 90210, because I was a fan of the original version in the 1990s (at least until the end of season 4). So I had no idea that Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) was supposed to be dead at the series end of the original show. How did she survive to live another day in this updated version?...

If some former residents of 90s hit Melrose Place aren't too keen in going back to that place, it's another story for Laura Leighton, who used to play clever and playful Sydney Andrews. If you know your 90s soap opera, you'd know that at the end of the series, she married Craig Field (David Charvet), only to get hit by a car and die at the wedding reception. Apparently, not only did she live, she also has a child - Violet, played by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

For starters, the first season of the modern reincarnation will reportedly feature a murder mystery involving Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) and Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro), both from the original series. Although lest we forget, there is the matter of the seven entirely new characters, including Mancini's son David (Shaun Sipos). And both Calabro and Leighton are onboard only as special guest star.
