John Carpenter is a filmmaker who boasts several stone-cold classics to his resume. Not only did he more or less invent the modern slasher movie with "Halloween," but he's also responsible for titles such as "Escape From New York," "The Thing," "They Live," "Prince of Darkness," "Big Trouble in Little China," and many more. Carpenter is pretty much retired from feature filmmaking at this point, and his as-of-now final film, "The Ward," isn't so great. However, there's one later-period Carpenter movie that I consider to be one of his best works: "In the Mouth of Madness." It received mixed reviews when it opened in 1994, and it wasn't much of a box office hit, but in my humble opinion, it's pretty damn great — and scary, too.

Liam Neeson’s Frank Drebin may have found his foil in the upcoming reboot of The Naked Gun, as reports have come out that former Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen may be close to signing on.
As reported by Daniel Richtman, “Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to play the villain Cane.” While no details have come out about Cane and Mikkelsen has not officially inked a deal for the upcoming Naked Gun installment, I would personally love to see him take on the role.
If confirmed, Mads Mikkelsen will join Ricardo Montalbán’s Victor Ludwig from the first Naked Gun, Robert Goulet’s Quentin Hapsburg from The Smell of Fear and Fred Ward’s Rocco Dillon from The Final Insult. Considering that lineup, we would absolutely welcome Mads Mikkelsen to the list of heels trying to outsmart (well…) Frank Drebin. And hey, let’s keep tradition and get “Weird Al” Yankovic...

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 will welcome fans back into the Tejada household. So far, fans have gotten a glimpse into who Dru Tejada (Lovell Adams-Gray) is. Though he is much more thoughtful and lighthearted than his siblings, all of that is beginning to change.
This is why Dru is transforming into someone heartless.

The third season of Power Book II: Ghost might showcase the Tejada family coming apart at the seams. Not only are matriarch Monet (Mary J. Blige) and patriarch Lorenzo (Berto Colon) at odds, but their conflict has also boiled down to their children. The official season description reads in part,

Spoiler Alert: The following story reveals major plot points from the Season 3 premiere of Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost.
Power Book II: Ghost dropped its third season premiere on Friday titled “Your Perception, Your Reality” and as expected, it’s filled with sadness and frustration following the tragic events of last season.
Monet (Mary J. Blige) is really going through it following the murder of her son Zeke (Daniel Bellomy). She’s lost her way and healing can only begin by her avenging his death—an eye for an eye. Being that her husband Lorenzo (Berto Colon) shot down Zeke accidentally in a case of mistaken identity, things are plenty complicated.
In the meantime, Monet is so enveloped in grief that she neither notices the internal struggle going on in the family nor that there’s a new baddie in town named Noma (Caroline Chikezie) who is searching for...

Surprise, "Power Book II: Ghost" fans - Lauren is back! Well, technically, according to season three's March 17 premiere, she never actually left. As viewers may remember, Lauren (played by Paige Hurd) was thought to have been killed off by Effie (Alix Lapri) and Brayden (Gianni Paolo) in season two's penultimate episode. After it's discovered that she's working with Ada Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) and catches Brayden, her boyfriend, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), and Cane (Woody McClain) talking about their drug dealings on a wire, Effie and Brayden, unbeknownst to Tariq, take Lauren out to the woods to kill her - all in an effort to avoid criminal charges.
Though viewers didn't see Hurd's character actually die, many believed that scene marked the end of the road for her, with Jenny later revealing that Lauren's body was found by locals after a "car accident." That turns out to be a complete lie,...

It's been a minute since we've been able to talk about a series in the Power Universe. And it's been a sad, sad time.
Luckily Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 1 is here to save us from ourselves and get us back into the world we've immersed ourselves in for the past 8-plus years.
And look, the original spinoff will just never go out of style. They've come back cool and confident and entertaining as ever. I'd even venture to say this may be the series' best-ever premiere.
Tariq has come a long way from the kid we met many years ago, coasting around the penthouse and failing miserably to stay out of trouble. He's long since grown up and shed a lot of the immaturity he once had, choosing instead to concentrate on school, so he can get his money and take care of himself and his family.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 will put Effie Morales (Alix Lapri) and Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) in the spotlight. Both women have shown that they are ruthless in terms of getting what they want. Moreover, they have both earned the respect of Tariq St. Patrick.
In fact, Effie and Monet are very similar.

The Tejada family is reeling from a major loss in "Power Book II: Ghost" season three, but Monet only has one thing on her mind: revenge. The cold-hearted queenpin's (Mary J. Blige) world shattered to pieces in season two's shocking finale when her nephew son Zeke was shockingly killed by Monet's husband, Lorenzo (Berto Colon), unbeknownst to her. Now she's only concerned with hunting down the person who took her firstborn away. But Blige tells Popsugar that her character's blind-revenge mission in season three, which premiered on March 17, will only put her "in a place where it compromises everything" later down the line.
It's clear that Monet's grief journey this season affects everyone around her, including her three kids - Cane (Woody McClain), Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray), and Diana (Latoya Tonodeo) - but especially Diana, who unknowingly set off the chain of events that led to Zeke's tragic death.

The Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 premiere is approaching. From the trailers and photos that Starz has released thus far, an overview of the season indicates that Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) is slated to become a lone wolf. While he’s put his faith in Brayden Westen (Gianni Paolo) and Effie Morales (Alix Lapri), his best friends have betrayed him.
Season 3 is set to introduce a more ruthless Tariq whose only ally may be Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige).

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 will find Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) in a very precarious situation. After being released from prison in season 2, Lorenzo was determined to take back the reins of his family. What he didn’t anticipate was the pushback he received from his wife, Monet (Mary J. Blige), who had run things on her own for a decade. However, Lorenzo was able to sway his three children Cane (Woody McClain), Diana (Latoya Tonodeo), and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray), to his side.
Still, jealousy caused Lorenzo to make a very chaotic choice. The consequences of that will make him more dangerous than ever in season 3.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 will showcase an alliance between Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) and Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige). For the first two seasons, Tariq worked under Monet, often doing her bidding even when it caused tension between him and her children, especially her son Cane (Woody McClain). Now, the pair are set to embark on a different alliance.
This is why Tariq and Monet’s faith and dependence on each other make the most sense.

In Power Book II: Ghost, the Tejada crime family is on the verge of imploding. Helmed by Monet Tejada (Mary J. Each week we highlight the noteworthy titles that have recently hit streaming platforms in the United States. Check out this week’s selections below and past round-ups here.
The Banshees of Inisherin (Martin McDonagh)
Martin McDonagh’s fourth film marks an In Bruges reunion between the writer-director, Farrell, and Brendan Gleeson. It again finds the two leads as another mismatched, in-a-rut couple of men serving up heaping portions of existential despair and black comedy. But this rut is of a very different ilk—much smaller in scope, lacking villainy, almost cute… until it isn’t. Banshees is McDonagh’s A Straight Story, but he doesn’t go full monty. He works in a few comically violent McDonagh beats that rip us out of the ordinary. But it’s the permeating sense of normality, routine, and unremarkableness that gives them their punch. To note the simplicity, he opens on a white...
