'Logan' movie with Hugh Jackman as the mutant Wolverine: 20th Century Fox's gamble results in one of the best superhero movies. 'Logan' movie review: 'Wolverine' trilogy concluded 'in surprising and rewarding fashion' The trailer for Logan, the final film in the standalone Wolverine trilogy, is set to Johnny Cash's funereal cover of “Hurt,” the already-depressing song by Nine Inch Nails. If there was ever a warning that a superhero film was going to trudge down a grim path, that's as unsubtle an indication as you're gonna get. It's a warning worth heeding, though. Logan is a long, grave, and violent neo-Western; a Dark Knight of the soul that earns its R-rating before its first scene is complete. For audiences whose appetite for Marvel's vaguely juvenile destructo-thons has congealed into cultural obligation and drudgery, Logan is a welcome expansion of what a superhero saga can be. And even...

The more things change, the more they stay the same… A mantra that couldn’t be more apt for a fight flick like Tapped Out.
As a child of the 80s I grew up on the likes of The Karate Kid and its sequels. As a film fan in the 90s I watched movies such as Showdown, Kickboxer, Bloodsport and A Dangerous Place. How are these film connected? And what do they all have in common with Tapped Out? Well essentially they all feature the same underdog story. An underdog story which has has existed, and has been re-used time and time again, in the martial arts genre for decades – taking in karate, taekwondo, kickboxing and now mixed martial arts (Mma).

The best part about Allan Ungar’s upcoming Mma flick “Tapped” is that it co-stars Krzysztof Soszynski, a real-life Mma fighter who previously had to lose to an overweight Kevin James in “Here Comes the Boom”. In “Tapped”, Soszynski will only have to suffer the indignity of losing to a teenager. But hey, at least the kid is in shape, right? I’m just kidding, of course. There’s plenty to like about Ungar’s film, especially if you’re in the mood for a little face-punching and head-knocking action. It looks like it’s got plenty of that, so that’s a plus. Also a plus? Michael Biehn and the Karate Kid’s greatest nemesis, Martin Kove, are also in this thing. Check out the first teaser trailer for “Tapped” below. And yes, karate dojos are apparently involved. A disgruntled teenager, sent to do community service at a run-down Karate school,...

Valladares will be helming the redo himself which is based on a shockingly true criminal case. Michael Biehn ('The Divide') stars and produces the flick under his Blanc/Biehn Productions banner which has scored a couple of new cast members today in the form of William Forsythe ('The Devil's Rejects') and Mma fighter Krzysztof Soszynski. 'I have never seen such a violent film that didn't feel gratuitous and exploitive,' commented Biehn. 'Patricio Valledares did an incredible job to combat that with his original film and we're excited to announce that he is on-board to direct the English remake.' Michael Biehn stars in Tapped as Reggie, a karate instructor who mentors a teenager who’s been sent to do community service at his rundown school and plans to enter a mixed-martial-arts tournament to confront the killer of his parents. Directed by Allan Ungar, the movie also stars Martin Kove (on familiar turf from the Karate Kid movies), Hobo With A Shotgun’s Nick Bateman, five-time Karate World Champion Cody Hackman and Ufc superstars Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and Krzysztof Soszynski.
The movie was shot in London, Ontario, Canada, and producer Geoff Hart plans to return there to film the upcoming chiller Severed Connection, starring Biehn and partner Jennifer Blanc. Hart also scripted this one, from a story by Bateman and Hackman about two people who find themselves trapped in a remote location and must reveal their pasts in order to survive. Bateman and Hackman will be part of the...

Ufc 122: Marquardt Vs. Okami
Taking place at the Koenig Pilsner Arena in Oberhaunsen, Germany, Ufc 122: Marquardt vs. Okami features the headling middle-weight match between Nate “The Great” Marquardt and Japanese star Yushin “Thunder” Okami, as well as a further nine bouts of devasting, hard-hitting, grapping action – including Dennis Silver vs. Andre Winner, Amir Sadollah vs. Peter Sabatta and Kyle Noke vs. Rob Kimmons.
Having previously enjoyed the long-running television series The Ultimate Fighter I was more than a little interested in watching my first full Ufc title card event (yes, I’m too cheap to pay the sub) but what an introduction into the world of Ufc! Featuring a mix of Us and international fighters, Ufc 122 contains some of the weakest Ufc bouts I’ve had the misfortune to see… With none of the “big” names in attendance for this German Ufc outing, it was left to some...
