Ride was one of two new scripted series to premiere on Hallmark in 2023. (The other is the time-travel drama The Way Home.) It debuted in March 2023; the season finale aired in May.
In contrast to The Way Home, which Hallmark renewed mid-way through its first season, Ride languished in limbo after its dramatic season 1 finale. Now, Vulture reports that the network has quietly decided not to move forward with Ride Season 2.
As recently as two weeks ago, some of the Ride cast appeared to be holding out hope for a renewal. When a fan commented on Instagram in early November that she was looking forward to season 2, Jake Foy,...

"There's something going on between you two." Photon Films has revealed an official trailer for Canadian-British indie film titled Polarized, which just screened this weekend at the Canadian Film Fest in Toronto. Made and set in Canada, the LGBTQ drama is about an aspiring songwriter named Lisa, as played by Holly Deveaux. There's no US release set yet, so keep an eye out for this if you're interested. Lisa's farming family has suffered foreclosure and she is forced to work at a new 'urban farm' where she meets Dalia. Her casual racism leads her to be fired but the women end up drawn into a passionate affair. This also stars Maxine Denis as Dalia, with Tara Samuel, Elie Gemael, Hesham Hammoud, Darren Martens, Abraham Asto, Sandrella Mohanna, & Adam Hurtig. Another honest & powerful film about how family's refuse to let their kids be who they want, and love who they want to love.

Exclusive: Canadian sales company Apl Film has acquired international sales rights for Canadian-British writer and director Shamim Sarif’s drama Polarized, a love story between two women separated by culture and religion.
The film will screen in the market as part of the selection of Telefilm Canada’s Perspective Canada initiative.
Holly Deveaux co-stars as a white farm worker who is fired for racism and then falls in love with her Palestinian boss, played by Maxine Denis.
“I like to push the boundaries of the way queer women of color are portrayed,” said Sarif. “With Polarized, I believe it’s one of the first times in cinema that we see Palestinian immigrants onscreen who are successful, driving scientific innovation, and in the case of co-lead character Dalia, also queer.”

Watch the Trailer for Doors: "Without explanation or warning, a number of mysterious, alien “doors” suddenly appear in every corner of the globe. While many of those that encounter these sentient visitors feel the strange urge to interact with them – never to be seen again – others stay behind to face the potential threat of what their ultimate agenda towards mankind is. In a rush to determine the reason for the arrival of these cosmic anomalies, the government enlists volunteers to brave the journey to enter the doors so that we might learn more about their origin or purpose. But even these brave volunteers are not prepared for what lies beyond the threshold. Tagline: "This Game Has No Players - Only Prey." Beast Within has already been released in several territories in 2020. Now, the film is set to show on DVD this February, through Stonecutter Media. In the film, a game developer invites several guests to a VIP event. Here, a publicity stunt leads to murder and a growing mystery. Beast Within was co-directed by Chris Green and Steven Morana. Together, they have brought a familiar cast to the screen, including: Colm Feore (Thor), Ari Millen (The Oak Room), Holly Deveaux ("The Mist"), Art Hindle (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and many more. These filmmakers have brought something unique to the screen, based on the film's rabid reception. Stonecutter Media will have Beast Within show-up at DVD stores this February 23rd. Rated PG-13, the release is not hosting many extras. However, this latest showing is for those DVD collectors, looking for something a bit different.

In a decidedly rare movie these days, Syfy is letting you in on one of its original movies that’s less than two weeks away.
There isn’t much to know at this point, beyond the fact that there’s some potential to the concept, but at least we know who we’ll be watching.
Sci-Fi fans might want a little more info on exactly what “mutant” means, because it might turn out all too similar to “zombie,” but if you’re looking for a slick, popcorn adventure, having people emerge from their bunkers ten years post apocalypse gives you a lot of options. That’s especially true if you throw in a mysterious stranger with tales of a safe haven.
Keep an eye out for this one, though you don’t have a long time to decide.

If you're an aficionado of literature, you're probably aware that this is the feature debut of David Bezmozgis, an acclaimed author. I haven't read his book Natasha and Other Stories. Nonetheless, Bezmozgis is definitely a director to watch for the years to come because of his writing skills. However, the cast's performance in Victoria Day is often soft at times.
1988: It's Victoria Day, school is almost over and the Edmonton Oilers (which had Wayne Gretzky at that time) were fighting in the NHL playoffs against the Boston Bruins. Ben Spector (Mark Rendall), a teenager from a Russian immigrant family living in Toronto, decides to attend to a concert of Bob Dylan with his two best friends. Once there, he runs into Jordan Chapman (Mitchell Amaral), the class jerk and Ben's annoying teammate in his amateur hockey team, who is five dollars shy of buying some drugs. Ben gives Jordan five dollars without enthusiasm.
