Photo by Pete Souza.Today, an appellate court panel ruled that Rahm Emanuel does not meet necessary residency requirements to run for mayor of Chicago and must have his name removed from the ballot. “Appellate judges Thomas Hoffman and Shelvin Louise Marie Hall ruled against Emanuel. Justice Bertina Lampkin voted in favor of keeping President Obama’s former chief of staff on the Feb. 22 ballot Emanuel’s attorney’s are expected to use Lampkin’s dissenting opinion to appeal the case to the Illinois Supreme Court,” The Chicago Sun-Times reports. An attorney for Emanuel, Kevin Forde, told the paper, “It’s surprising.” Privately, we imagine Emanuel also responded to the decision with similar incredulity. “By gosh, this is a shame, huh? I sure do disagree with this,” is exactly what he likely said.

It’s not as magical as let’s say “Enchanted” would be, however, “Bedtime Stories” serves up simple fun that parents can enjoy with their kids. Adam Shankman, known for his work on the acclaimed “Hairspray” adaptation, directs the film from the writing by Matt Lopez and Tim Herlihy. Marty Bronson (Jonathan Pryce) is living his dream running a homely hotel with the help of his children. His son Skeeter (young Thomas Hoffman) is in heaven, exploring the hotel and gleefully acting out all of his fantasies resulting from the wonderful ‘bedtime stories’ his father tells him each night. However, when the ambitious and germ-phobic hotel mogul Barry Nottingham (Richard Griffiths) spots the business in trouble, he loses everything.
