- Born in California on January 17th, the only child of an Assyrian Russian mother and a Scottish Irish father. At the early age of five her parents divorced. Basil grew up and was educated all over the United States as well as parts of Europe. She has written produced and directed two short films; one based on one of her favorite author's Irvine Welsh's Ecstacy as well as a documentary entitled Flags and Mental Jewlery.
