Premium U.S. Spanish-language SVOD service Pantaya – already a partner with Starzplay on Lucia Puenzo’s “Señorita 89,” Pablo Fendrik’s “El Refugio” and Sofía Auza and Silviana Aguirre’s “Yellow” – will release “Nacho” in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Starzplay distributes in Spain and Latin America. Elsewhere, Lionsgate will oversee international distribution.
Starzplay has shared with Variety a first-look image from the eight-part series, inspired by the life and times of Nacho Vidal, an adult film industry legend. Taken to California by Rocco Siffredi in 1998, Vidal became the sector’s first Spanish international mega-star.

Starzplay has unveiled plot details, casting and a first-look image for “Express,” an original co-produced with Spanish production giant The Mediapro Studio and U.S. streaming platform Pantaya. “Express” is Starzplay’s first local language Spanish production, but one of several announced in August of last year. Each will be available on the Starzplay platform in Spain and Latin America as well as Spanish-language focused streamer Pantaya – a co-venture between Lionsgate and Hemisphere Media Group – in the U.S.

Starzplay, the Starz-backed streamer that is available in 50 countries, has pulled the curtain back on its first slate of Spanish and Mexican originals.
The four shows (detailed below) will stream on Starzplay across Latin America, with a plan to debut select titles in Spain and in the U.S. on Starz and Spanish language streamer Pantaya.
The originals include Spain’s Bambu Producciones and La Claqueta PC making Nacho Vidal, An Industry Xxxl, which will examine the life of legendary Spanish porn star Nacho Vidal.
Meanwhile, Express is a crime thriller produced by The Mediapro Studio. Written by Ivan Escobar (Locked Up), it will focus on the rise of express kidnappings, where people are abducted for an immediate ransom.
Over in Mexico, Fremantle and Chilean production company Fabula will co-produce Señorita Mexico (working title), which tells the story of contestants training for the country’s Miss Mexico pageant in the 1980s.
