They’re still tiny and now they’re learning to be a little looney with a new spin on one of television’s most catchy theme songs.
Tiny Toons Looniversity, the updated take on 1990s favorite Tiny Toon Adventures, used its time at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday morning to unveil its theme song, which as you’d expect, is based on the beloved theme song from the original — but with a new twist.
Composer Matthew Janszen has taken composer Bruce Broughton’s Daytime Emmy-winning tune and remixed the original arrangement and lyrics to fit the rebooted show made for a new generation.
The voice cast features Eric Bauza as Buster, Daffy and Gossamer; Ashleigh Hairston as Babs; David Errigo Jr. as Hamton J. Pig and Plucky; and Tessa Netting as Sweety. Looniversity also brings back Tiny Toon Adventures grads Jeff Bergman, Bob Bergen, Candi Milo and Cree Summer, who...

Matthew Janszen, the talent behind the music on animated shows such as “Archibald’s Next Big Thing” and “ThunderCats Roar!”, is suiting up for an upcoming superhero project on HBO Max. IndieWire is exclusively announcing that Janszen will compose the streaming service’s upcoming “Aquaman: King of Atlantis,” an animated series that centers on the popular DC Comics superhero.
The three-part family-friendly “Aquaman: King of Atlantis,” which will be executive produced by 2018 “Aquaman” film director James Wan, is one of several DC-related projects slated to premiere on WarnerMedia’s new streaming service sometime in the future. Janszen is no stranger to musically-inclined family shows, such as Netflix’s aforementioned “Archibald’s Next Big Thing,” and the composer is particularly eager to tackle HBO Max’s “Aquaman” limited series since superhero projects allow for all manner of booming music tracks.

Other than teaming with Mick Garris and directing a pair of episodes (Cigarette Burns, Pro-Life) for the short-lived Showtime series Masters of Horror, John Carpenter has not been behind the camera since the 2001 box-office flop Ghost of Mars. Piss-poor marketing by Screen Gems and the real life horrors of 9/11 crushed any chance it had to be a hit. While it is not Carpenter’s strongest work, it is still better than the other red planet inspired flicks released at the time, and could best be described as Assault on Precinct 13 on Mars. Fast forward to a decade later and John is back with The Ward, which is currently available on VOD and will receive a limited theatrical release on July 8.
