Exclusive: CBS Films has acquired Other People’s Love Letters, a script that will be helmed by Tom Bezucha. The film has a Love, Actually vibe in that it follows the intertwining storylines of four romances, each at a crossroads. The film was scripted by Bethany Ashton Wolf, and Laurence Mark is producing with Jonathan Shukat, with Tamara Chestna and Eric Bromberg exec producing. They may change the title, but it’s based on the book of the same name, which is a collection of love letters that was edited by Bill Shapiro. They’ll now go out to cast. This movie is meant to be pure romance, and Tom Bezucha is the perfect director to bring these diverse love stories to life on the screen,” said Mark. Wme-repped Bezucha helmed Monte Carlo and The Family Stone. Wolf is repped by Apa and Magnet Management. CBS execs Mark Ross and Winnie Kemp are overseeing.

Before you say, “Wait, this sounds familiar…” your memory serves you right. Syfy aired Nick Willing’s (Alice, Tin Man) version of a Peter Pan origin story, also titled Neverland, just last December. Sony’s project began from a seedling idea from actor Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Dear John), and producers Reid Carolin and Eric Bromberg.
Variety reports that Warrior director Gavin O’Connor is in talks with Sony to direct this project to expand upon J.M. Barrie’s story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Huntsman) and Palak Patel will be producing the project through Roth Films while Tatum and Carolin will produce through Iron Horse. O’Connor will be involved with the drafting of the script that Billy Ray (The Hunger Games, Color of Night) is working on.
So, I know what you’re thinking. How will this...

Gavin O’ Connor’s Warrior proved to be a heart warming tale of brothers battling, and now the director is ready to transition from that to boys who never want to grow up fighting pirates. But we aren’t talking about another adaptation of Peter Pan, instead Billy Ray’s script Neverland, focuses on the origins of the immortal boy who never wants to grow up and his nefarious archenemy Captain Hook. Channing Tatum will produce.
According to Deadline, O’Conner is now in talks to direct the movie that was once simply titled Pan. Channing Tatum along with Reid Carolin, and Eric Bromberg developed the idea for the movie which they handed off to Ray who would script it. Last year Sony picked up the rights to the movie, and with 21 Jump Street already earning rave reviews, there’s no doubt that the movie studio wants to continue their relationship.

Warrior helmer Gavin O'Connor is in talks to direct Sony Pictures' Neverland , reports Variety . The movie, to be produced by Joe Roth ( Snow White and the Huntsman , Alice in Wonderland ), Palak Patel, Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin, is an origin story about J.M. Barrie's characters Peter Pan and Captain Hook. The trade adds that Tatum, Carolin and Eric Bromberg came up with the idea and brought it to Roth Films and screenwriter Billy Ray for the group to develop as a pitch. Tatum will not be starring in the film.

Fresh off his critically acclaim Mma movie (how many times have you heard that one?) “Warrior”, director Gavin O’Connor is ready to hop onboard something a little bit more fanciful beyond the ring. The director is currently in talks to direct Sony Pictures’ “Neverland”, yet another “re-imagining” of the famous children’s tale (a popular thing nowadays in Hollywood, I hear). Not to be confused with the Syfy mini-series of the same name, the Sony version will be an origins story that tells the beginnings of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and Captain Hook. So yeah, I can definitely see how you might confuse it with the Syfy mini-series besides, you know, just the title. “Neverland” is the brainchild of Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin. (Yes, Channing Tatum.) The duo came up with the idea along with producer Eric Bromberg and screenwriter Billy Ray, and sold it to Sony.
