Rebel Wilson details how Hollywood’s pay scales can increase exponentially in her new memoir, Rebel Rising. The actress and comedian opens up about her salaries for Bridesmaids and the Pitch Perfect trilogy.
Wilson writes in the book that she was paid only $3,500 for 2011’s Bridesmaids, which starred Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy (Wilson played Brynn, the obnoxious roommate of Wiig’s Annie Walker). But the entirety of her small check went to Screen Actors Guild fees to join the union. Nevertheless, “that didn’t matter to me,” Wilson writes. “The experience was everything!”
Wilson notes she booked six new gigs within two weeks of Bridesmaids‘ release, one of which was the 2012 a cappella smash hit, Pitch Perfect.
“Boy, did that movie pay dividends!” Wilson writes, noting she was paid “SAG minimum scale, which was $65,000,” for the film. Pitch Perfect’s success spawned two sequels, in...

Bridesmaids starring Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig is an excellent movie that shocked the industry with its success at the box office in 2011. It made over $306 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film produced by Judd Apatow.
The brilliance of Bridesmaids lies in the electric chemistry among its ensemble, but the cast could’ve included different comedic actors. After becoming a household name in The Office, Mindy Kaling auditioned to co-star in the movie. Unfortunately, she lost out on the part to Maya Rudolph.
‘Bridesmaids’ is a great comedy about the ways friends drift away from each other
Bridesmaids begins with Annie Walker (Kristen Wiig) in the roughest patch of her life. Her bakery went under during the recession, and she’s barely staying afloat working at a jewelry store.
She gets a reprieve from her daily struggles from her lifelong bestie Lillian (Maya Rudolph), who asks Annie to be...

Kristen Wiig started playing the talkative cashier in sketch shows at The Groundlings Theatre, and included the character on her SNL audition tape. When the character debuted on the show in 2005, it was a breakout moment for Wiig, and Target Lady would appear on the show nine times. But even though the audition tape clearly did its job getting her on the show and giving her her first standout role, Wiig refuses to watch it. “I’ve never even seen the tape that they sent in, because I don’t like watching myself. We have our first cancellation of 2015, and unfortunately for fans of Covert Affairs, it’s not good news. USA Network has decided to cancel the spy series, starring Piper Perabo, after five seasons. Covert Affairs followed the story of Perabo’s Annie Walker, a CIA trainee sent to work for the Domestic Protection Division (Dpd) as a field agent. Throughout Covert Affairs‘ five seasons, Annie did her best to keep her cover intact and worked with blind tech operative Auggie Anderson (Christopher Gorham). In addition to Perabo and Gorham, the series also starred Kari Matchett, Anne Dudek, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Peter Gallagher, Hill Harper, and Nic Bishop at different points during its five seasons. USA cited Covert Affairs’ low ratings for why it decided to cancel the series, which premiered on the network in 2010. With both White Collar and Covert Affairs gone, Suits is now USA Network’s veteran series. The...

Mission aborted. After five seasons, USA has opted not to move forward with more episodes of its spy drama Covert Affairs.
Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham starred in the series, which was created by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, playing spies Annie Walker and Auggie Anderson.
The decision to end Covert Affairs was made from a business standpoint, after the series hit an all-time ratings low this past November during its fifth season. Though the show, which regularly averaged 5 million viewers in live-plus-same-day returns, was well-liked by network execs, USA decided that the series low of 1.1 million viewers, which resulted in an average of about 1.5 million, was just too severe to allow for a sixth season.
Now that USA has pulled the plug, it seems that the season five cliffhanger ending, in which Perabo’s Annie found herself fielding both a marriage proposal and new job with a CIA task...

There's a new face in the spy game of "Covert Affairs" Season 5. Nic Bishop ("Body of Proof") has been cast as Ryan McQuaid, a new regular character coming with the return of the show in the summer of 2014.
McQuaid is described as a "handsome, magnetic and charming" man who first meets Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) out in the field. This former Navy Seal and current private contractor (who happens to be worth billions) is at first an uneasy ally for CIA operative Annie.
