"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" breakout star Daisy Ridley and acclaimed Australian actress Naomi Watts are in final negotiations to star in Claire McCarthy's "Ophelia" based on Lisa Klein's young-adult novel.
A new take on the "Hamlet" story, this puts the focus on the daughter of Claudius' chief advisor who falls for the Danish Prince seeking revenge on those who murdered his father. Ridley will play Ophelia, while Watts is set as Watts.
Daniel Bobker, Ehren Kruger and Sarah Curtis are producing the film which Covert Media is financing.

The film will be set in the fourteenth century but will discard Shakespeare's original text.

Daisy Ridley and Naomi Watts are getting their Shakespeare on. In a new film announced on Wednesday, Ridley will be taking a break from Star Wars to play Ophelia, the tragic love interest of Hamlet in Shakespeare’s immortal play. Watts is on board to play Queen Gertrude, Hamlet’s mother. It’s a reimagining of a Shakespeare play without using the original text, but don’t expect this to be in the same vein as 10 Things I Hate About You or She’s the Man. The film, titled Ophelia, will take place in the 14th century. We got a still-set-in-the-Middle-Ages alternate view of Hamlet with Rosencranz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Now we get one, albeit probably less absurdist and meta, with the focus put on Ophelia. The film’s script is an adaptation of the 2006 young adult novel Ophelia by Lisa Klein. No word on whether the film will...

[Editors Note: Project of the Month is presented in partnership with Blackmagic Design, one of the world's leading innovators and manufacturers of creative video technology.] For many Americans, suicide is an uneasy subject to discuss, whether it's about the trauma left in the wake of an attempt or the measures that can be taken to prevent them from happening. With her documentary "The S Word," director Lisa Klein is looking to change that. And she's not alone. Alongside veteran documentary editor Doug Blush and a group of experienced production staff, she's given the opportunity for survivors of suicide attempts and their families to tell their own stories. It's the first step in what they hope will lead to a more open national dialogue about care and prevention. Via email, we spoke with the "S Word" team (Klein, Blush and producer Kurt Norton) about the difficulties of filmmaking and where they hope this project takes them next. What's...

Title: Of Two Minds Directors: Doug Blush and Lisa Klein An enormously empathetic documentary that highlights the diversity and range of experience within the diagnosis of bipolar disorder, “Of Two Minds” roots down into the stigma attached to mental illness, in a very human, relatable manner. More than an estimated five million Americans are living with bipolar disorder, and with it the [ Read More ]...

Courteney Cox and David Arquette were both spotted out shopping over the weekend, though their outings took place in different cities. Courteney was in Malibu on Saturday and she checked out Maxfield and chatted on the phone while daughter Coco was busy getting her hair done at a local salon. David, meanwhile, arrived at the Lisa Klein boutique in Beverly Hills a few minutes before the store opened on Sunday and had to wait outside before heading in to pick up a few things. Yesterday was the couple's 12th wedding anniversary, but the state of their relationship remains up in the air since their separation last Fall. David and Courteney are still on good terms though, and she stepped out to support him after his Beacher's Madhouse show earlier this month. Whether or not the duo recognized their latest marriage milestone, Courteney has her 47th birthday to celebrate on Wednesday.

Reporters at a Lisa Klein for Division-e fashion event this week wondered if "Melrose Place" star Katie Cassidy might be dating "Twilight: New Moon" hottie Kellan Lutz.
Yes, they posed cozy on the red carpet and looked great together, both tall, blond. with blue eyes and great smiles.
But don't be fooled by the Hollywood fauxmance pose.
All hostesses have to pose with the hot male guests. It's a rule.
And according to E!, Katie is actually dating Jarret Stoll of the Los Angeles Kings, a hockey player previously engaged to model/reality star Rachel Hunter.
Remember back when he called off their August wedding in June?
Who would date a guy who would do that? Hopefully, not Katie!
We think Katie should find a more Face Base kind of relationship.
You know, someone she can count on to change their Facebook status to "committed" and leave it that way.
