“Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony. The renewal arrives ahead of the Season 1 finale, scheduled to air on November 3 on Prime Video. While the Season 2 renewal is unsurprising, it’s welcomed news in the face of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and a general air of uncertainty circulating throughout the film and television arenas.

Welcome, new students of Godolkin University! The spin-off of Prime Video’s breakout hit, the superhero satire The Boys, will be premiering in a few days. Gen V takes fans into the new generation of supers as they learn the lessons they need to be tried and true superheroes. Amazon has now released an orientation video for God U, the college that will be the setting for the show. The video features the stars of the show mugging it up for the camera as they parody the cheesy acting in the usual presentation for videos of this nature.
The official synopsis for Gen V from Amazon reads,
“Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes – preferably with lucrative endorsements. You know what happens when supes go bad, but...

There's never a dull moment in The Boys universe, and we're sure Gen V will hold on to that when it finally premieres later this month.
Prime Video went public Wednesday with the full-length trailer, and it's a violent display of superheroes-in-the-making.
Gen V features an electric cast of younger superheroes, each with their own powers, and the footage hints at some powerful team-ups.
But that doesn't mean everyone gets along.
No, this group is pushed together in a way that doesn't sit right with their peers.
We see lots of bad decisions being made, which means the series will show heroes, villains, and those in between.
Set at America's only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school's top ranking.

Prime Video has released a very bloody look at it’s upcoming college-set The Boys spinoff, Gen V.
A trailer dropped Saturday during Ccxp doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but does give peak at the cast of characters, led by The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s Jaz Sinclair.
Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking.
Whatever is going down at that school involves a lot of bloodshed, as indicated by the many shots of the cast completely covered in blood (and the one of someone scraping organs off a sidewalk). You can watch the entire trailer below.
The series also starts Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh,...

As if college isn’t a tumultuous enough time, the students in The Boys‘ university-set spinoff Gen V are also facing the special kind of challenges that come with being a supe. Like, a lot of blood. So. Much. Blood.
The above first look — revealed at Ccxp in Sao Paolo, Brazil, on Saturday — introduces America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International). The series “explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking,” per the official synopsis.

Rosemarie DeWitt (The Staircase), Rob Benedict (Supernatural), and Elliot Knight (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II) have joined the Season 4 cast of Amazon’s The Boys. DeWitt will play Hughie’s (Jack Quaid) mom opposite returning series star Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) who plays Hughie’s dad.
The Boys, based on the New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, shares a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought—the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super-powerful.

The Boys is one of the biggest shows on streaming.
It premiered at a time when the superhero genre was saturated, offering viewers a fresh and exciting spin.
Now, with three seasons under its belt, the franchise is taking viewers to a college for supes.
We've known about the show for a while now, but it was essentially in development hell for some time as changes were made to the cast.
Prime Video on Friday confirmed the series will be titled...
Gen V.
It's not a bad title, but it won't exactly make any of the casual fans of the original series associate the two shows.
That will leave an almighty job for the marketing team. Then again, maybe Prime Video will call it The Boys: Gen V, or something.
Time will tell.

In the wake of their upcoming TV series for AMC based on Garth Ennis' acclaimed "Preacher" comics, the show's producing team of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Neal Moritz are ready to do the same again on another network.
The trio will produce a TV series adaptation of Ennis' "The Boys". Developed by Rogen, Goldberg and "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke, and to be written by Kripke, it is set in a time where most of the superheroes are corrupted by their celebrity status and engage in reckless behavior that compromises the safety of the world.
The action follows a CIA squad, known informally as 'the boys,' whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, eliminate some of them. The series ran for 72 issues from 2008-2012.

With the white collar around his neck, you might think he's a man who follows God's word, but when he's melded with the otherworldly entity known as Genesis and God abandons his throne, Jesse focuses his attention on hunting down the big guy from upstairs. Since its first publication run from 1995 – 2000, readers have embraced the dark humor, thought-provoking writing, and visceral violence of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Preacher comic book series, and with AMC's Preacher series pilot, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin are looking to bring that paneled page magic to the small screen. Following the casting of numerous key supporting characters, the lead role of Jesse Custer has been cast.
Seth Rogen announced via Twitter today that Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dracula Untold) has been cast in the lead role of Jesse Custer in AMC's Preacher series pilot.
