ABC is not moving forward with a second season of drama series The Crossing.
The Crossing premiered April 2 with American Idol as a lead-in, but that episode of the revived singing-competition series happened to match a series-low demo rating for a regular telecast. Post-Idol, the midseason drama managed to eke out a win in the 10 Pm hour with a 1.0 and 5.45 million viewers. It outperformed same night last year for ABC by double digits but fell short of previous week’s The Good Doctor wrapper and its season average, though that still left it ABC’s second-most-watched Monday 10 Pm debut, behind Doctor, in nearly three years.
The series stared Steve Zahn as the sheriff of a small fishing town in Oregon who must deal with dozens of refugees from a war-torn country who arrive on its beach. One twist: The country they’re from is America — and the war they’re...

ABC has picked up four new series from its sister ABC Studios, including a new drama from Shonda Rhimes’ company, a drama about saving the world (starring Jason Ritter), a series about refugees… from America, and comedy that sounds like it might take a few cues from the recently installed White House inhabitant.

On The CW's Flash, Firestorm the Nuclear Man is comprised of Professor Martin Stein (Garber) and S.T.A.R. Labs engineer Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). However, the younger Amell's name has not been mentioned in any press or promo material for the show, despite the debut trailer showcasing that Firestorm will appear on Legends of Tomorrow. Recently, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim spoke to ScreenRant and dropped a major clue, acknowledging that the showrunner's are purposefully keeping things under wraps. "It’s a good question. I will say Victor Garber, who plays Martin Stein, is a part of the spinoff… and we wouldn’t have Martin Stein on the show if there wasn’t going to be some Firestorm." Seeing as how we already met Jason Rusch earlier this season on The Flash, played by Luc Roderique (Seventh Son, The 100) one would certainly have to...

That encounter plays heavily into the show’s mid-season premiere which opens with Barry’s narration changed to reflect his battle with the Reverse Flash, followed by Barry working on improving his speed through various training exercises that force him to dodge drones piloted by Cisco (How cool was that?). As it stands right now on the CW's The Flash, the plan is to eventually have Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond combine with Victor Garber’s Professor Stein to make Firestorm...but we might be looking at a threesome. According to KSiteTV, Luc Roderique has also been cast as the current DC Comics incarnation of Firestorm, Jason Rusch. He's described as “a graduate student at Hudson University, he was part of Martin Stein’s research team on the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. project. In the DC comics, Jason takes over the Firestorm matrix after Ronnie Raymond’s death.”. So maybe a nasty end is in store for Raymond on the show, or they'll just take turns or something. Roderique (Godzilla, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Supernatural) is set to appear as Rusch in the tenth episode of The Flash which will air after the mid season break.
