Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult is yet another Netflix documentary that tells us about a self-proclaimed godman who is said to have brainwashed a lot of young people and influencers for his own benefit and wreaked havoc on the lives of the families of those victims. Whenever I watch a documentary or a film, there are multiple questions that pop up in my mind. I always think about what would it be like have a one-on-one conversation with them—if they would be so charismatic that I would get charmed and influenced by their aura; if they would be thinking that what they are doing is not right; if they know that they are just fooling people by telling them that they have a direct link to the almighty; or if they are delusional enough to believe that they actually have some supernatural powers and that they are the chosen ones.

The first episode of Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult opens with a family making a video and telling the people about what they had gone through and how helpless they felt. They worked hard, followed their passion, and showcased their skills, and slowly, the follower count started to increase. They started doing collaborations with a lot of famous social media personalities, and among them was an influencer named James “Bdash” Derrick. James made the Wilking sisters meet his friend Isaiah, who was...

The live-action TV series based on the Goosebumps books written by R.L. Stine that was released through the Disney+ and Hulu streaming services last October (read our review Here) drew inspiration from five of Stine’s Goosebumps stories. More Stine stories will be brought to the screen in Goosebumps season 2 – but the show is taking the anthology route, so we can expect a second season that has “an entirely new cast and setting based on Stine’s iconic Scholastic book series,” and won’t pick up on the season 1 cliffhanger that involved a character appearing to be possessed. That’s where author Kate Howard steps in, as she has been hired to write a Goosebumps season 1 novelization that will not only cover the story told in the show’s episodes but also include “additional scenes and information not seen on the show, including resolving the show’s cliffhanger ending!”

Y'all are going to have to give me a minute.
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 5 brought me to tears several times, which doesn't usually happen. There was just so damn much loss.
Ripley's case was the most heartbreaking but it also did the impossible: it made me like Ripley, at least for now.
Since he arrived at Gaffney, Ripley has been little more than a pain in the ass. He couldn't get past how Charles treated him years ago, seemed always to think he was right, and was so annoying that I was an anti-Ripley/Hannah shipper.
But his reaction to Jimmy's condition softened him.
Understandably, JImmy's medical history shook Ripley to the core. They were both victims of inhumane psychiatric practices as kids.
Ripley's scars are internal, and he doesn't have cognitive impairments. Still, he must have realized that Jimmy's fate could have easily been his own.

Marcel wasn't kidding when he said Archer was no choir boy.
When he first arrived at Gaffney, Archer purposely let a patient lose consciousness so that he could claim an emergency need to do a procedure the patient didn't consent to—and that was the least of his ethical lapses.
But on Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 4, he berated Zola and Maggie for doing an end-run around an insurance company's denial of service to save a patient's life. Seriously?
His stance would have been reasonable if only he hadn't had the past he had. At the very least, he should have referenced it.
Maybe we're supposed to think that now that he's the head of the Ed, he has a different perspective or that he's grown and changed. But he acted high-and-mighty when he's done far worse, and that weakened any point he might have had.
Sentencing Zola to an ethics...

Carrie Underwood adores the Christmas holidays. It is a time of the year when she gets to settle in and enjoy uninterrupted time with her husband, Mike Fisher, and their two sons, Isaiah and Jacob. She relies on three comforting traditions to get through the holiday season, ensuring these special moments are”making memories” for her children they will carry on into their adult lives.
Carrie Underwood’s Christmas traditions begin with a tree
In late November, Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher, and their sons Isaiah and Jacob head to a local farm to pick out the perfect Christmas tree. It is an important element that kicks off their family holiday traditions.
However, Underwood didn’t always enjoy the real tree experience growing up. She said her family had an artificial tree every year.

All Dirt Roads Taste Of Salt offers a visually beautiful mediation on childhood, family and love, that begins with sisters growing in a lushly green rural Mississippi landscape, and then reaches into adulthood. The film is more a lyrical poem to a time and place, than a plot-driven drama, so it is best enjoyed when you can just embrace it’s dreamy memories of childhood friendship, warm family moments and young bittersweet romance, and let the lovely imagery and dreamy feeling float you downstream.
This lovely, dreamy piece of cinema art was written and directed by award-winning poet, photographer and filmmaker Raven Jackson, making her feature film debut. It is a lyrical film that powerfully evokes its place and time, and the people in that landscape.

Like so many of the broader Goosebumps series’ nightmarish affairs, the back half of the new Goosebumps show belongs to Slappy.
It all seemed to begin in the early 1990s when young Harold Biddle was caught in a fiery inferno. As he burned, a group of teenagers ran off into the night with one of his most prized possessions. Eventually, those teenagers grew up and had children of their own.
There’s Zack Morris’ Isaiah, the charismatic football star and his best friend James played by Miles McKenna, a fun and sarcastic rich kid dealing with the pitfalls of being one of the small town’s only openly queer residents. Ana Yi Puig plays the tough, strong and socially isolated Isabella, Will Price is Lucas, who’s as lovably affable as he is occasionally idiotic, and Isa Briones is the staggeringly charming Margot, Isaiah’s neighbor, lifelong friend and on-again,...

The Direct has an exclusive new clip from the Goosebumps finale that introduces Kanduu and Franz Maher, two important figures from the past.
Things have been a little wild in Port Lawrence ever since Justin Long’s Nathan Bratt took over the old Biddle House. Though, despite a litany of haunted objects terrorizing some of its citizens, including the infamous Slappy, all the horror seemed to be in the rearview mirror.
Isaiah, Margot, James, Isabelle, and Lucas were all already in the process of moving on from the recent terrible happenings. But, thanks to Mr. Bratt’s extensive writer's block, their struggles aren’t over yet.

Raven Jackson’s All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is a small miracle. A feature debut from the Tennessee-born writer and director, the A24-backed film acts as a meditation on life, a poetic retelling of moments that wash and wade, tug and pull, and shape and break one’s heart. Jackson composes her drama as a collection of experiences for Mack, played by Kaylee Nicole Johnson in childhood and Charleen McClure in adulthood, snapshots of a Black woman’s life in Mississippi. Both actors imbue reality into this character, a sense that Mack is so much more than just a character in a movie. Jackson tells Mack’s story without a need for linear consistency, instead deciding to focus on the people, places, sounds, and feelings that molded her.

R. L. Stine’s spine-chilling “Goosebumps” book series holds a great deal of nostalgia and memorable spooks for ’90s kids and beyond, including executive producers Pavun Shetty and Conor Welch, who were determined to “elevate” the beloved novels with modern stories for a new generation through the new Disney+ and Hulu series.
“Connor and I grew up on the ‘Goosebumps’ books, and now that we’re adults, kids are reading them for the first time. While we’re looking back with a sense of nostalgia, they’re getting scared for the first time,” Shetty told TheWrap ahead of the series’ Friday the 13th premiere. “We knew we wanted to do something with these iconic stories and do an elevated take on them.”
With established fans and newcomers bringing distinct perspectives on the same material, the “Goosebumps” team — led by filmmakers and creators Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller — aimed to harness...

This Goosebumps review contains no spoilers.
R. L. Stine’s famous teen horror book series Goosebumps was a big thing in the ‘90s. The books sold like candy (which meant over four million copies a month during their prime), and the author was dubbed the “Stephen King of children’s literature” — which is strange because I always thought that Stephen King was the Stephen King for kids — with a substantial influence on shaping the genre. Nevertheless, Stine’s novels were unsubtle and simple, usually devoid of gruesome violence and murder, appealing to younger readers by creating deliciously spooky atmospheres combined with campy humor. Naturally, they spawned multiple adaptations from video games to TV series to movies and more, varying in quality and success.
The latest one, created by Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller for Disney+ and Hulu, Goosebumps, unfortunately, falls in the line of weaker adaptations that entirely fail to...

Four episodes into Disney+ and Hulu’s Goosebumps, two characters take a beat to reflect on everything they’ve been through. “You know, our parents are sleeping together, there’s a ghost kind of haunting us, and I’m vomiting up worms, and now we’re having like a sleepover or something,” one says. “Yeah, throw in a long-lost sibling and a rich grandmother and you’ve got a soap opera on your hands,” the other cracks. And that’s without even getting into the clone army or the prophetic camera or the weird new teacher or decades-long mystery binding their families together.
It’s a lot for any one show to handle, and Goosebumps stumbles. Where the R.L. Stine books dished out zippy, mostly standalone adventures, Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller’s series adaptation increasingly gets bogged down trying to deliver supernatural horror and angsty teen drama and a...

Plot: Inspired by R.L. Stine’s worldwide bestselling book series, “Goosebumps” follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle – while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past.
Review: For decades, R.L. Stine has been a mainstay of tween and teen horror. In the 1980s and 1990s, Stine was the Stephen King for younger audiences, and the 1995 television anthology series of his books frightened a generation. The 2015 and 2018 feature films brought most of Stine’s iconic stories and characters together for movies that were more adventure than horror. Now, Disney+ and Hulu bring a new take on Goosebumps that is decidedly darker and scarier than the previous takes on the source material. The new Goosebumps combines ten of R.L. From possessed puppets to sentient worms, horror author R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books spooked an entire generation of kids growing up in the 1990s. In this 10-episode series (which drops five episodes on Disney+ and Hulu before switching to weekly installments), the collection’s creepiest tales are brought back to life, all tying into a larger mystery. Five teens—football star Isaiah (EastEnders’ Zach Morris), loner Margot (Isa Briones), sarcastic James (Miles McKenna), daredevil Lucas (Will Price) and shy Isabella (Ana Yi Puig)—each face down one of Stine’s iconic frights in their fictional Pacific Northwest town of Port Lawrence before realizing they’re all fighting the same battle. In the first hour, Isaiah snaps some shots on a haunted Polaroid camera (a plot taken from Stine’s Say Cheese and Die!), which offer a glimpse at a grim future. But it isn’t all campy ghost stories and monster mashes,...

The first image in writer-director Raven Jackson’s All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt—a close-up of a hand squeezing a freshly caught fish, its reflective scales mirrored by the twinkling, gauzy light captured on 35mm by cinematographer Jomo Fray—quickly immerses us in the film’s world. The relationship between bodies and the natural world that surrounds them, mediated by the physical properties of film, is central to Jackson’s work. As the scene progresses, the camera’s focus remains resolutely on what may seem like its incidental textures, tracking the interplay of skin, earth, and water as if they were brushstrokes on a canvas.
The elemental poeticism of these images is clear evidence of Jackson’s promise as a filmmaker, and yet this opening sequence also points to why All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt amounts to a limited showcase for her talents. Essentially all of the film’s aesthetic,...

Peacock's Killing It burst onto screens last year and landed strong reviews.
The second season, premiering Thursday, August 17, 2023, heightens the stakes and the comedy as Craig and Jillian take the money they won from the Florida Python Challenge and buy a saw palmetto berry farm.
TV Fanatic got the chance to speak with Craig Robinson, Rell Battle, and Claudia O'Doherty about what's in store for the sophomore season. These interviews were conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Robinson opened up about where we pick up with Craig. He's closer than ever to achieving his dreams after winning the money.
The actor says Craig "couldn't be happier" when Killing It Season 2 begins, but he warns that it "all comes crashing down."
"He's about to get paid, and then, it's a dream deferred, if you will," he explained, adding that Craig's relationships with all the characters will come to the forefront this season.

The python killing game may have been the feature focus of Peacock‘s Killing It, but the actual creatures of mystery are the humans.
The heartfelt comedy combines the sweetness and out-of-the-box comedy of a series like Detroiters or The Office with the spicy edge of Breaking Bad.

In HBO’s “Winning Time,” Quincy Isaiah took on the “large task” of portraying Earvin “Magic” Johnson Jr. — often regarded as one of the greatest point guards of all time after helping the Lakers win five NBA championships across 13 seasons.
“I think being able to make it smaller, in terms of playing this person who just won a championship and who’s just dealing with life issues, I think that’s the way that I have to frame it… really taking this giant of a person and making him relatable to everyday people,” Isaiah told TheWrap. “The way that we are able to do that is with a great script and a great cast, but also just leaning into the humanity of these emotions that you see in Season 2.”

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the Season 2 premiere of “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,” now streaming on Max.
The Los Angeles Lakers are on top of the world at the start of “Winning Time” Season 2. It doesn’t take long before they find themselves back on their asses.
After taking down the Philadelphia 76ers to win the 1980 NBA Finals, it’s no surprise that a championship would inflate some egos in Inglewood. Basking in the glow of a city’s adoration, Magic Johnson (Quincy Isaiah) finds himself a media darling, fielding fawning reporters that regularly overrun the Lakers locker room. It’s enough hot air to irk Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Solomon Hughes) — who also hasn’t shaken the awkward disappointment of suffering a sprained ankle during the Finals. The team’s de facto leader watched from home as Johnson took over his position at center to clinch the championship.

HBO’s “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” is back for Season 2, and it’s still electric and a damn good time. The first season, mostly spanning the 1979-1980 NBA calendar, unpacked the origins of Los Angeles Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss (a crass but delightful John C. Reilly) and exhaustively detailed the origins of the dynasty that he would build behind teen megastar Earvin “Magic” Johnson (Quincy Isaiah). A more rapidly paced second season addresses the following years, leading up to the highly-anticipated 1984 NBA Finals that positioned the Lakers against long-time rivals the Boston Celtics, led by Larry Bird (Sean Patrick Small).
Season 2 opens with the first game of that landmark championship series. It’s May 27, 1984, and a full-fledged mob scene is under way. Magic, the Lakers and their Armani-clad coach, Pat Riley (an exquisite Adrian Brody) — having just won Game 1 — race off the basketball court, through...
