While Creed III may be the title of Michael B. Jordan’s new film, a lot of the story revolves around a newly introduced character: Damian “Diamond Dame” Anderson, played by Jonathan Majors. An old childhood friend of Adonis Creed’s, Anderson winds up coaxing Creed out of retirement by the film’s end. Majors is getting great reviews for his performance in the film, and Jordan — who both stars in and directed the film — talked to us about Majors and what he brought to the role. Boxing champ Adonis is living the good life with a wonderful wife, loving daughter, and more than he could have ever dreamed of. So, of course, he’s now about to face his greatest challenge – a friend he left behind – in the third entry of the Rocky spinoff, Creed III.
Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has retired from boxing and spends his days with his wife, Bianca (Tessa Thompson), and his daughter, Amara (Mila Davis-Kent), in their mansion. He also runs a gym and is a promoter for boxing champ Felix Chavez (Jose Benavidez). Yes… life’s pretty much perfect for Creed.
That is until a blast from his boyhood past, Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors), shows up. It seems Damian and Creed grew up together and were...

Rocky Balboa is one of cinema’s most beloved heroes. After creating and portraying the character in 1976’s Best Picture winner, Sylvester Stallone went on to play the Italian Stallion seven more times, earning a second Oscar nomination for his supporting work in Creed (2015). Rocky is such an icon that a statue bearing his image is still a popular tourist destination in Philadelphia.
So it’s quite a feat that Stallone’s absence is never once noticeable in Creed III. Michael B. Jordan triumphantly makes the franchise his own and confirms that Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s nemesis-turned-friend Apollo Creed, is a compelling character in his own right. Creed III is also Jordan’s directorial debut, and he delivers an energetic and entertaining entry that breathes new visual life into a nearly 50-year-old series.

As we get closer to Spring (and that most welcome “break”), the multiplex will present a new addition to a beloved franchise. Some may be indifferent to it, but it’s unique in several ways. For one thing, it’s not based on a comic book (though another ‘s on its way in a couple of weeks), nor are its roots in video games, toys, or TV shows. No, it’s a cinema original, though technically it is a spin-off of the first series that’s almost (gasp) 47 years old (this youngster only has eight years under his championship belt). Creed III marks the ninth film in the Rocky franchise and the third installment of the Creed movies. Lead actor Michael B. Jordan takes a step behind the camera in his directorial feature debut, but Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin’s screenplay comes with no shortage of baggage from its predecessors. Nevertheless, Creed III makes for an amusing sports drama.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Uhd, Disney+ and digital VOD. In the bonus features, the cast and crew discuss their underwater training for the Lost Tribe scenes.
The cast of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ had to learn to dive
Some of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s fantastic visuals could only be accomplished with visual effects. However, for simpler scenes underwater, director Ryan Coogler wanted his actors to really be submerged.
“The way we did things on the first film is we did as much for real as we could,” Coogler said.

Michael B. Jordan returns as Adonis Creed in Creed III, the much-anticipated new chapter in the 300+ million Rocky spinoff franchise. The first trailer shows Adonis reuniting with a childhood friend who’s just been released from prison. Their troubled history is hinted at in the trailer and during a press conference in support of the trailer’s launch, Jordan described Damian (played by Jonathan Majors) as the film’s antagonist. (He preferred that term to “villain.”)
Michael B. Jordan took on an additional job with the new entry in the franchise, making his feature film directorial debut with Creed III. Jordan believed it was the perfect time to jump behind the camera after building up an impressive resume acting for the past 20 years.
“I finally got to this place in my career where I wanted to tell a story and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else’s vision,...

As the television world exists now, one of the main pushes we see from every network is an effort to sub-brand itself as having a “kind of show.” That’s a slightly convoluted way of saying that the networks think fans of one of their shows look for a similar “feel” from the next show. If a new show were thrown at you, they want you to be able to guess who is going to air it.
With that in mind, there’s an extent to which it’s hard to blame ABC for Notorious. It had to seem like a good Shondaland fit, and it looks decent on paper. You do you ABC.
If you throw in Josh Berman (Bones, Drop Dead Diva, The Blacklist) as creator, so much the better.
The trouble is that the world of laughable melodrama, and/or purposeful guilty pleasures that are overwrought with contrivance as a writing style,...
