Way before I started this website I was a huge fan of this online TV series called Pure Pwnage, one of the original series from back when about geeky video gamers who "pwn n00bs" all day. The show has amassed a global following and now years later they're about to premiere a feature-length film called Pure Pwnage: Teh Movie. A teaser trailer has debuted and if you love video games, geeks being uber-geeky, or anything to do with pwning n00bs then fire this up and get a look at what they've been working on. Jeremy (played by Jarett Cale) reunites with his friend FPS_Doug (Joel Gardiner) to become a professional gamer. This is a very niche show that not everyone will be into, but I've always admired the geeky passion these guys have. Here's the first teaser trailer for Geoff Lapaire's Pure Pwnage: Teh Movie,...

Series Name: Space Janitors Asking For: $30,000 (Canadian) On Kickstarter Amount Raised Thus Far (At Time Of Post): $13,281 (Canadian) Days Remaining In Campaign (At Time Of Post): 38 Description: Space Janitors is a sci-fi parody web series created by Davin Lengyel and Geoff Lapaire. It follows the unfortunately mundane lives of two janitors aboard a Death Star-esque space station, who keep the windows clean and the floors shiny, all while dreaming of moving on to bigger and better space adventures. Seasons one and two were distributed internationally via Geek and Sundry and scored a healthy amount of views. The Kickstarter campaign is attempting to raise the requisite funds needed to complete a budget for season 3. Creator Bio: Even if you've never seen Space Janitors, you may recognize Lapaire's name from his work on Pure Pwnage, a classic of the web series community's early days. Lengyel, a Pure Pwnage producer, also created Pro at Cooking,...

Felicia Day's Geek and Sundry channel will celebrate its one year anniversary on April 1st, and the YouTube Original Channel dedicated to nerd culture is celebrating with a new slate of programming. In addition to returning existing favorites, three new shows based around video games will be launched. The two returning shows are Space Janitors, the sci-fi comedy created by Geoff Lapaire of Pure Pwnage, and TableTop, where Wil Wheaton invites notable nerdy people onto his show for some board game action. Season two had better feature a round of Carcassonne, or else. To spice up the new season, Day and Wheaton are launching International Tabletop Day, a global event dedicated to analog gaming. Three debutant series will join the two returnees, with video games taking center stage. Felicia's Ark will see Day and her viewers choosing which video game animals to take aboard her ark, thus saving them from impending doom.

Jarett Cale and Geoff Lapaire, the duo behind the classic Pure Pwnage web series, recently acquired enough funds on Indiegogo to turn their baby into a feature film. Since then, the pair have hosted a production live stream (with plenty of gaming) as they chip away at their movie project. At the same time, they are taking steps to get the series some more attention. Lapaire has started posting old Pure Pwnage episodes, one at a time, on his KylePP YouTube channel. The show was previously available on its website and on DVD, but the new YouTube listing will make it easier for old fans to experience some web series nostalgia while new viewers are exposed to Pure Pwnage's n00b-pwning goodness. Judging by the current release rate, we can expect a new episode to get posted every day until January

For almost 7 years, Pure Pwnage trundled along as one of the best series dedicated to the gamer subculture. With its hyper-specific gaming references and sci-fi leanings, Pwnage (remember kids, it's pronounced OWNage) became popular enough to gain a TV run on a Canadian network. However, that deal ended up being the beginning of the end for the series. For whatever reason, it didn't do well on the small screen and ended for good last year. Luckily for its devoted fans, Pure Pwnage may very well rise from the dead, bigger and better than before. The series' creators, Jarett Cale and Geoff Lapaire, have launched an Indiegogo campaign, with the goal of raising enough money to turn their magnum opus into a feature film. As part of the promotional effort, the duo have appeared in a video in which they explain their vision for the film. My favorite part of said...

Thanks to FirstShowing we have our first look at Space Janitors, an upcoming Star Wars-inspired web series. The web series airs on The Escapist on February 24th. Davin Lengyel and Geoff Lapaire created the series. The story follows "two human custodians working on board a battle station for the evil Empire. As they try to hold on to their jobs in the midst of an intergalactic civil war, the series offers a satirical and irreverent view of androids, clones, Dark Lords, and other science-fiction staples."
