Set in a middle-class town on Long Island, Co-Dependents follows a 30-something brother and sister have gotten older but haven’t really grown up. Childhood rituals and their commitment to each other always take first place over spouses, jobs and kids.
The project is inspired by Astrof’s relationship with her brother, Jeff Astrof.

The horror comedy series Shining Vale premiered on Starz back in March of 2022, then the second season reached the airwaves this past October. Unfortunately, there won’t be a season 3, as Variety reports that the show has been cancelled for the most common reason a show gets cancelled: it “did not find a large enough audience to continue.” But Starz is going further than just cancelling this show, as they’re also going to be scrubbing it from their archives. “Not only will the show be cut by the network, the first two seasons will be removed from the Starz streaming service at the end of the year.“
Created by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan, the first season of Shining Vale followed a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. But no one seems to notice except for Patricia “Pat” Phelps,...

Pivoting was a surprise cancelation at Fox after it emerged that the critically acclaimed comedy would not return for a second season.
The move came after lengthy negotiations between the network and studio Warner Bros Television.
Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox, said that canceling the show, which stars Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin and Maggie Q, was a “hard call”.
“Liz Astrof and Aaron Kaplan are great partners and we have to make tough decisions. We had to look at it holistically, not just as a show, but as a business and in this case we were sorry not to renew it,” he said.
Pivoting had been considered a strong bet for renewal. A favorite of the Fox brass, the show had a rare 100 on Rotten Tomatoes as one of the best-reviewed new broadcast series and also was a strong performer on Hulu, which the network has been able to monetize.

Judith Light has joined the cast of Starz’ upcoming horror comedy “Shining Vale” in a guest-starring role.
The show, which is currently in production in Los Angeles now, follows a dysfunctional family that moves into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. Only one person in the family seems to notice the house’s bad energy, though: Pat (Courteney Cox), who at first thinks she’s either depressed or possessed.
Light will play Joan, who is described as Pat’s “Lithium-infused mother,” who has battled mental illness for a long time — and also battled her daughter, who she blames for her mental illness. Joan is vain and hyper-critical and will take any opportunity to try to reclaim her youth or belittle her daughter. Joan may be the most frightening horror Pat faces.
In addition to Cox, “Shining Vale” stars Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey, Gus Birney (“Dickinson”) and Dylan Gage.

Meg DeLoatch has come onboard the CBS comedy “The Neighborhood” as showrunner and executive producer of Season 4, Variety has learned.
DeLoatch takes over running the multi-cam comedy from series creator Jim Reynolds, whose exit from the series was originally reported earlier this year.
DeLoatch most recently created, executive produced, and served as showrunner on the Netflix multi-cam “Family Reunion.” The second season of that series debuted on the streamer in April, with the first season having dropped in its entirety back in 2019. No decision has yet been made on a third season, per an individual with knowledge of the situation, but should the series get renewed, DeLoatch would remain onboard as an executive producer. Her other TV credits include “Fuller House,” “Raven’s Home,” “Austin & Ally,” and “Single Ladies.” She also created and executive produced the Upn series “Eve.”
She is repped by Gersh and Morris Yorn.

Updated with new photos: It was a long, pandemic-impacted broadcast development cycle, with some pilots taking a year to get produced, but the broadcast networks have made their picks for new scripted series to debut in fall 2021 as well as the bulk of their decisions for new midseason 2022 shows.
The pandemic forced broadcast executives to think outside the traditional broadcast pilot model and rely more heavily on straight-to-series orders, often based on additional scripts, sometimes delivered through the opening of a writers room.
Check out Deadline’s gallery of new 2021-22 shows. Those picked up straight-to-series that have not produced a pilot and have no episodic art available, are represented by their top talent on or behind the camera.

Here is ABC’s fall 2021 schedule, which features two new series, comedy The Wonder Years and drama Queens, followed by a brief analysis and descriptions of all of ABC’s new scripted series for next season

CBS has started to pare down its returning series slate for next season, cancelling comedy The Unicorn‘s after two seasons. It is one two sophomore series the network won’t be bringing back, along with drama All Rise. Two other CBS bubble series, Seal Team and Clarice, are eying a move to Paramount+.
From the get-go, the single-camera Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins, has been, well, an unicorn, on CBS, not quite fitting into the network’s traditional sitcom mold.
Yet, the series, which was well received by critics and features one of the strongest comedy casts on TV, had big fans at the highest ranks at CBS, which helped it snag a Season 2 renewal last year for a limited midseason run, which concluded in March.
The Unicorn’s linear ratings were among the lowest on CBS but its Live+Same Day delivery was actually higher than that for the renewed S.

Simone Missick starred as newly appointed judge Lola Carmichael, with Wilson Bethel, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Lindsay Mendez, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsey Gort, and Audrey Corsa. Dee Harris Lawrence, Len Goldstein and Michael Robin were executive producers. Warner Bros. Television produced.

Fox is bringing three of TV's most popular actresses together for its latest series.
The network on Monday placed a series order for Pivoting, a new comedy series that follows three women after the death of their childhood best friend.
Faced with the reality that life is short, in desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised, and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond, proving it’s never too late to screw up your life.
Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Maggie Q are set to lead the series.
Coupe (Happy Endings) is set to play cooking show producer Amy, who wants to spend more time with her children.
Goodwin is on board as Jodie, a mom who escapes her husband by having an affair with her gym teacher.
Q will play Sarah, a doctor who divorces her cheating wife and takes up a job working at a supermarket.
