Jimmy Donaldson is attaching his personal brand to a fast food chain, but this time, we’re not talking about MrBeast Burger. The face of the MrBeast YouTube empire has partnered with Zaxby‘s to introduce the MrBeast Box, a meal that features Donaldson’s Feastables brand on its packaging.
The MrBeast Box is available at Zaxby’s locations nationwide. The chain known for tenders and other chicken dishes counts more than 900 locations, most of which can be found in the Southern United States.
The box starts at $12.99 and includes a plethora of Zaxby’s menu items, including chicken, fries, Texas toast, and Feastables’ milk chocolate bar. For Donaldson’s confectionary brand, the Zaxby’s partnership is a chance to show off a new recipe. Feastables recently reformulated its chocolate bars to create what Donaldson calls “the best-tasting chocolate ever made by mankind.”

"Are they staying here?" Metrograph FIlms has revealed the first official trailer for Good One, one of the most critically acclaimed films from this year's 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Good One is the feature debut of filmmaker India Donaldson, proving she has an eye for detail and a knack for nuanced storytelling. During a weekend backpacking trip in the Catskills, 17-year-old Sam navigates the clash of egos between her father and his oldest friend. The film also features the breakout lead performance by Lily Collias as the main character Sam. Donaldson's heralded first feature, starring the talented Lily Collias, is Metrograph Picture's first new release of 2024, and the only film this year to play at both the Sundance & Cannes Film Festivals – it's screening soon in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar in Cannes this month. This also co-stars James Le Gros and Danny McCarthy as the two adults. With a score by Celia Hollander.

Two years ago, Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, ventured to Bentonville, Arkansas, with his management team to talk creators — and chocolate. Donaldson, a giant on YouTube (252 million-plus subscribers), was aiming to leverage his audience to build a real-world business: a candy line called Feastables. And Walmart, based in Bentonville, signed on as a launch partner.
Feastables now brings in nine figures annually in revenue, Donaldson told a conference last year, making it a textbook example of how a creator can monetize fandom. “I know for a fact that Walmart and a lot of these retailers are now going, ‘Ok, what Jimmy did in chocolate, what Logan [Paul] did in hydration [with beverage brand Prime], are creators building in other categories? And should we be more aggressive?” says Reed Duchscher, CEO of creator management firm Night Media, which had repped MrBeast in all areas until recently but now just reps Donaldson for his Feastables business.

MrBeast is reportedly ending his exclusive relationship with management company Night.
Two people familiar with the matter told Semafor that “in recent days,” MrBeast–aka Jimmy Donaldson–told Night it will no longer be his primary manager. He will apparently still remain with Night in some capacity, but will shift some aspects of his business to other management companies in the creator industry.
We reached out to Night for comment on the veracity of the report, but haven’t heard back. Night told Semafor it expects to have an ongoing relationship with Donaldson, if not an exclusive one.
Donaldson began working with Night founder/CEO Reed Duchscher in February 2018, and announced his official signing with Night in January 2019. According to Semafor‘s sources, the split is caused by friction stemming from Duchscher’s refusal to move Night operations from its headquarters in Austin to Donaldson’s hometown of Greenville, North Carolina,...

Luca Guadagnino's new film "Challengers" is set in 2019 during a pivotal tennis match between tennis pro Art Donaldson (Mike Faist) and the struggling also-ran Patrick Zweig (Josh O'Connor). Watching from the stands is Donaldson's wife, the former teen tennis prodigy Tashi Duncan (Zendaya). Tashi looks incredibly concerned, and the two players seem to hate each other. The film then begins a series of flashbacks, stretching back 13 years to when the characters were all teenagers. It seems that Art, Patrick, and Tashi once had a three-way makeout session in a motel room that cemented their physical and emotional attraction for years. Tashi briefly dated Josh, while Art, retaining a crush, attempted to sabotage their relationship. Art and Tashi would begin a romance after she sustains an injury, with Tashi becoming Art's coach. Resentment bubbles apace.
It's all very soapy, of course, but Guadagnino tempers the melodrama with excellent attention to detail,...

This week, a trickshot channel caught our attention, but the channels at the front of the U.S. Top 50 didn’t need any tricks to reach the summit of our ranking. The top five chart leaders all pulled in at least 400 million weekly views.
Four of the top five finishers in the U.S. Top 50 also reached those heights last week, but there’s a new #1 atop the heap.

MrBeast moved up two spots to claim the #1 spot in the U.S. Top 50. Jimmy Donaldson‘s primary YouTube channel typically experiences viewership surges in the days that follow new video releases, and the first week of April was no exception.

Younger audiences flock to social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok, and stars of those services could find themselves with streaming deals soon.
MrBeast is officially coming to Prime Video. On March 18, Amazon announced a new output deal with YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson. Better known by his moniker of MrBeast, Donaldson is the owner of the second largest viewer base on YouTube with over 247 million subscribers, second only to Indian record label T-Series. Donaldson’s deal with Amazon will see his hugely popular “Beast Games” YouTube series become the biggest reality TV competition in history. For younger generations, social media and creator-distributed content far surpass traditional linear and streaming video consumption, so this deal shows that streaming providers are keeping a watchful eye on the viewing habits of younger generations. Details of the specific challenges that will be featured in “Beast Games” remain under wraps. According to Prime Video, the show will feature 1,000 contestants vying for the single $5 million cash payout in a “fast-paced and high-production format.”
MrBeast will serve as host and executive producer of “Beast Games.” No premiere date has been set for the show, which will be available exclusively on Prime Video worldwide. Variety previously reported that MrBeast was in talks with Prime Video for a reality-competition show.

‘Beast Games’ Competition Series From YouTuber MrBeast Ordered By Prime Video With $5 Million Payout
Prime Video has handed a series order to reality competition series Beast Games from YouTube personality MrBeast (né Jimmy Donaldson) and Amazon MGM Studios, with a $5 million grand prize – the biggest payout in TV history. As we reported in January, MrBeast was nearing a deal with Amazon for an unscripted competition series, but details were not revealed.
Based on his already successful YouTube show, Beast Games is touted “to become the biggest reality competition series ever with 1000 contestants competing for a $5 million dollar cash prize,” per the release. MrBeast will serve as host and executive producer. Beast Games will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
In November 2022, MrBeast became the most subscribed YouTube creator worldwide and now has over 244 million subscribers. His social media career began when he first posted on the platform at 13, though he rose to fame in 2017 when a video of MrBeast counting to 100,000 went viral.

MrBeast is headed to Amazon.
The hugely popular YouTube star has struck a deal with Amazon MGM Studios for his first traditional TV series: a competition described as “the biggest reality competition series in television history.”
The project is based on his YouTube show and titled Beast Games. It will feature 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million cash payout. The prize is touted as the biggest single prize in the history of television and streaming.
Sources say Amazon outbid at least one major streaming rival to make the deal with MrBeast, a.k.a. Jimmy Donaldson, who is the most popular content creator on YouTube. Donaldson also negotiated the right to retain creative control of the production.
“My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms,” said MrBeast in a statement. “Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen.

Dwayne Johnson has been leaning into his heel character in WWE a little too much that fans have now started going against him. In the recently concluded Oscar Awards, Johnson graced the red carpet among other celebrities. He had a little chat and a game of ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ with Amelia Dimoldenberg of Chicken Shop Date fame. Fans are pretty sure that the Black Adam actor was not happy when he lost the game to Dimoldenberg.

However, it might be a stretch, since the actor had lost another game of Rock Paper Scissors against MrBeast a couple of years back and was totally cool about it. He even made a donation of $100,000 to charity.

Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, is one of YouTube’s greatest sensations. He is known for the unbelievable and out-of-the-box challenges that he often attempts, and one such particular challenge of his has seemed to catch the spotlight.
Out of the many channels he operates, MrBeast runs a gaming channel, and many of the watchers believe that his challenge of surviving 100 days straight in Hardcore Minecraft is one of the most painful challenges he has ever taken.

In many of the hardships and difficulties that Donaldson intentionally faces to curate content, he has to often stay active and be in front of a camera without even a single break. This was the case with this particular video, where he revealed he had to shoot straight for 20 hours to finish the challenge.

The LA film festival scene just got a bit brighter.
The Los Angeles Festival of Movies (Lafm), co-presented by Mubi and Mezzanine, announced the full lineup for its inaugural festival taking place April 4-7, 2024. The new festival will screen 11 titles including one world premiere, three 4K restorations, plus a featured artist talk, documentary series, and a curated short film program. Passes are currently on sale, and single film tickets go on sale March 14.
Per the festival’s organizers, Lafm was created to redefine Los Angeles as a destination for independent film. There are many film festivals in LA, primarily led by AFI Fest in the fall, but rarely do they make independent film their only focus.

Early in writer-director India Donaldson’s Good One, during lunch at a diner, 17-year-old Sam (Lily Collias) takes an enormous bite of a burger. “I thought you were a vegetarian,” her father, Chris (James Le Gros), bemoans. She replies that she’s “never been one,” to which Matt (Danny McCarthy), Chris’s oldest friend, incredulously states, “You seem like one.”
The essence of Donaldson’s feature-length directorial debut, which traces this trio’s weekend backpacking trip in the Catskills, is distilled in that seemingly throwaway moment, as this is a film about two adults who spend much time presumptuously ascribing stereotypical behavior to the teens in their midst. Though Sam is on her way to college, about to face the onset of adulthood, her divorced parents barely notice the young woman developing before their eyes. Good One, then, in its glimpse of a generational divide, is less a tale of...

MrBeast, the massively popular YouTube creator known for big-money giveaways and outlandish stunts, is nearing a deal for a reality-competition show with Amazon’s Prime Video, Variety has confirmed.
Details of the show, including its title, aren’t known. But the idea is that a MrBeast-hosted show for Prime Video would follow the format of his viral YouTube challenges, including doling out large cash prizes. To date, MrBeast’s most-viewed video on YouTube is his 2021 reenactment of “Squid Game,” featuring a series of elimination challenges re-created from the hit Netflix show — which awarded one winner $446,000.
Amazon declined to comment. Reps for MrBeast did not respond to requests for comment. MrBeast’s negotiations with Prime Video were first reported by Puck, which cited a source as pegging the deal at potentially near $100 million. Sources familiar with the talks cautioned that a deal has not yet been officially inked at this point.

A slight but sensitive and fantastically assured debut that unfolds with the pointillistic detail of a great short story, India Donaldson’s “Good One” is a coming-of-age story that jettisons all of the genre’s most familiar trappings in favor of a long walk in the woods.
There were supposed to be four people on the upstate New York camping trip, but one of the teens dropped out because he didn’t want to spend one of their last pre-college weekends sleeping in a polyester tent with his dad. That leaves anxious divorcee Chris, his avuncular best friend Matt, and Chris’ queer 17-year-old daughter Sam (extraordinary newcomer Lily Collias), who dutifully comes along because she’s always seen it as her job to keep what little peace is left in her family. To not be a burden. To make her parents feel like they still know her, even if they...

It’s been nearly two decades since Kelly Reichardt’s Old Joy showed how the wilderness can be an open canvas to explore the breaking points of male friendship and reckoning with a midlife crisis. While those emotional quandaries are evergreen, it’s appropriate timing to bring an entirely new element to this conceit. India Donaldson’s carefully observed, refreshingly patient, beautifully rendered debut feature Good One shifts the perspective, concerning a 17-year-old girl who embarks on a camping trip in the Catskills with her father and his best friend. Through an accumulation of minute details and uneasy glances, the drama becomes a portrait of increasingly crossed boundaries leading to an ultimate breaking point.
What was originally envisioned as a four-person backpacking trip into the woods with Sam (Lily Collias), her father Chris (James Le Gros), his best friend Matt (Danny McCarthy), and Matt’s son Dylan quickly turns to...

As teenagers go — and let us allow for some hormonal leeway here — 17-year-old Sam is what most would call a good one: smart, thoughtful, grounded, self-sufficient but not averse to advice, the kind of kid that parents can’t help bragging about, as their friends wish their own nightmare offspring were a little more like her. But such a reputation has its downside, as elders take the teen’s compliance and good humor for granted, and expect undue allowances for their own irresponsibilities. Writer-director India Donaldson probes that awkward reversal of roles with delicacy and care in her debut feature “Good One,” monitoring the white lies and red flags that emerge over the course of a father-daughter camping weekend in upstate New York.
Premiering in the U.S. Dramatic competition at this year’s Sundance festival, “Good One” is modest but assuredly perceptive independent filmmaking that makes no grand claims...

On a trip to the Catskills, 17-year-old Sam’s father is so preoccupied looking out for his oldest friend that she begins to feel suffocated. Such is the premise of Good One, the debut feature by the Los-Angeles based India Donaldson. Also debuting on Good One is cinematographer Wilson Cameron (Glass Note). Below, Cameron discusses the film’s natural development toward longer takes, the fun and difficulty of shooting in the woods and the various films that served as reference. See all responses to our annual Sundance cinematographer interviews here. Filmmaker: How and why did you wind up being the cinematographer of your […]

MrBeast hasn’t committed to regular uploads on X, but he’s at least curious about it. On the platform formerly known as Twitter, top creator Jimmy Donaldson shared an old video to test the earnings potential of Elon Musk‘s revenue sharing program.
Donaldson chose a car-themed video as his guinea pig for X monetization. The Samsung-sponsored hit the MrBeast YouTube channel last September, and it has since pulled in more than 211 million views. Obviously, the video’s X traffic won’t be nearly as high, so I’d imagine Donaldson is testing his earnings rate rather than his viewership potential.
“I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make so I’m reuploading this to test it,” Donaldson wrote in a tweet. “Will share ad rev next week.”

MaviGadget just eked its way past MrBeast to claim the #1 spot in this week’s U.S. Top 50. If the YouTube Shorts channel had gotten one million fewer weekly views across its library of machinery-focused clips, it would have been forced to settle for second place. Instead, MaviGadget got its...

The Smeds And The Smoos
An ancient feud, jungle exploration, forbidden romance and an interplanetary adventure complete with aliens – BAFTA longlisted animation The Smeds And The Smoos has got it all. It’s based on the book by children's author and illustrator team Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, best known for the Gruffalo and Samantha, and has been brought to life by director team Samantha Cutler and Daniel Snaddon. I caught up with the two of them at an animation event late last year to find out how this delightful children’s fable made it to the screen and enjoyed such success there.
Daniel has worked on previous adaptations of Donaldson and Scheffler’s work, and for him it was all about the story.
“It's about two races of aliens,” he explains. “Red aliens and blue aliens who live on a planet. And they're neighbours and they can't stand each other.
