The “Nurse Jackie” sequel series is now in development at Amazon Prime Video with original star Edie Falco set to return, Variety has learned exclusively.
It was first reported in 2023 that a “Nurse Jackie” followup was in the works at Showtime from Lionsgate Television, but the project has now moved to Amazon.
The official logline states, “10 years after we left Jackie Peyton (Falco) clinging to life in the series finale, we find her back on her feet in spite of having lost her nursing license. The continuation of her story will find her facing new dilemmas in trying to be good in a world where being bad is often not only easier, but a lot more fun.”
Liz Flahive and Abe Sylvia serve as writers and executive producers on the sequel series, with both having worked as producers and writers on the original series. Sylvia is also attached to direct.

One husband-and-wife duo shocked their teammates and the audience with a risque answer this week on Family Feud.
The Butler family faced off against the Burketts, and things got a little spicy — but to be fair, the answer warranted some sexually charged answers.
Longtime host Steve Harvey surveyed Donald Sr. from the Butler’s team and Dominique from the Burkett’s team at the podium in a round-opening faceoff.
The survey question Steve read to the competitors was, “Name something in your dreams that you might be riding on naked.”
Donald Sr. was the first to tap his buzzer, and his guess, “A horse,” was the number-one answer, putting 45 points on the board for the Butler family.
Donald and the rest of his family members chose to play rather than pass and headed over to their side of the stage.
Sylvia and Donald Sr. had fun with their spectators

It’s official: Platonic is returning.
Apple TV+ has doled out a second season to the comedy starring Rose Byrne (Sylvia) and Seth Rogen (Will), who play best friends (and only best friends). The duo also serve as executive producers on the series from their former Neighbors director Nick Stoller and his wife Francesca Delbanco. In a statement, the co-creators teased: “Season Two spoiler alert: Will and Sylvia won’t get together this time either.”
Though the streaming service doesn’t reveal viewership metrics, it’s been busy hailing Platonic as a “hit comedy,” which it certainly is among critics. “Since the first episodes of Platonic debuted on Apple TV+, global audiences have been charmed by the hilarious, wildly fun and relatable friendship that Rose and Seth have brought to life through their charismatic performances,” added Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, in a statement.

Michel Franco’s “Memory” is in the tradition of movies about broken people coming together, with all the heartbreak and melodrama required.
But “Memory” bucks the tradition of the cold films previously made by the director of the apocalyptic 99-percent-uprising thriller “New Order” and high-school bullying drama “After Lucia.” They’re films that seem calm at the outset, but you wait for the other blood-dipped shoe to drop. That shoe never quite hits the ground in the peculiar and sensitive “Memory,” which stars Jessica Chastain as a 13-years-sober alcoholic who reconnects with a former school classmate, Saul (played by Peter Sarsgaard), at a reunion she doesn’t want to be at anyway.
