Under Vmi releasing, “Junction” is slated for a theatrical and VOD release on Jan. 24. As per the press release, the film description reads: “[‘Junction’] chronicles the modern-day opioid crisis in America from three different points of view: the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, a doctor and a patient. “The cast of ‘Junction’ has been nothing short of spectacular,” Verdi previously said. “We’ve been very lucky to have such notable talent respond to Bryan’s amazing script.

Verdi Productions, run by Chad A. Verdi, Paul Luba, Chad Verdi, Jr.
and Michelle Verdi, plans to release three films in 2024 that were previously put on hold since actors were unable to promote work during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
“Workers in the film industry are getting financially destroyed by these strikes, whether it’s actors, writers, directors or crew. Most of these individuals were already working multiple jobs to get by,” Verdi said in a statement. “This widespread production shutdown didn’t hurt the top 1% in the industry but ruined many people who work week-to-week and paycheck-to-paycheck. It’s very unfortunate to see. Let’s get our union members a fair deal so that they can get back to doing what they love.”

Sean Penn’s “Superpower,” the actor’s upcoming documentary about Ukraine’s fight to maintain its freedom from Russia, is set to premiere on September 18. The film will be available to watch exclusively on Paramount+.
Co-directed by Penn and Aaron Kaufman, the documentary features several interviews between Penn and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over the production’s seven trips to the country over the past two years. The film chronicles the months before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the hours leading up to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to launch rockets into Kyiv and the devastating aftermath.
“Superpower” has followed an unconventional road. Filming started in 2021, and at the time, the documentary was intended to be a deep dive into Zelensky, an actor and comedian who played a president on TV before becoming Ukraine’s actual president. Vault director Tom DeNucci’s new film Johnny & Clyde is usually referred to as a “crime thriller”, but we’ve also heard that the story shifts gears to become a “balls-to-the-wall slasher/horror” flick. Since I have been a dedicated slasher fan since the 1980s, I’m looking forward to checking it out when it receives a theatrical and VOD release this Friday, May 5th. With the release just a few days away, a trailer for Johnny & Clyde has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
Scripted by DeNucci and Nick Principe, Johnny & Clyde follows the two eponymous serial killers who are madly in love and on an endless crime spree. They have their sights set on robbing a prosperous casino run by crime boss Alana and her head of security.

Shudder and IFC Midnight are launching microbudget Skinamarink on a not-so-micro 629 screens, giving the viral horror pic a major push after a well-received premiere back at Fantasia-fest that just kept snowballing with strong reviews and social media love.
“I was over the moon. For a horror filmmaker in Canada, [Fantasia] is like getting a Cannes screening,” says first-time filmmaker Kyle Edward Ball about the leadup to this weekend’s buzzy specialty opening. He shot the 15k feature at his parents’ home in Edmonton, Canada.
In it, two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. “I’d had a nightmare when I was little. I was in my parents’ house, my parents were missing, and there was a monster. And lots of people have shared this exact same dream,” Ball tells Deadline.

Hartley, a major force in American independent film, has been trying to get this off the ground for awhile. He launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money in 2020 just before the pandemic hit. He told potential donors that the script was “the best thing I’ve written.”
The film is a farce about a well-regarded 58-year-old director of romantic comedies who wants to become assistant groundskeeper at a local cemetery and work outdoors. Meanwhile, he thinks it’s important to have his last will and testament drawn up. But his actor girlfriend thinks he must be dying and that he is just too brave to tell anyone. Exclusive: Copper comes from Arizona, and Peaches from Georgia, but if we had to rewrite the lyrics to the Blossom Dearie standard “Rhode Island is Famous For You,” you can add film production to the latter 1,214 square mile sized state. Verdi who over the last eight years has pumped out 20 features with notable homegrown titles like 2016’s Bleed for This and the upcoming Grindstone Entertainment Group/Lionsgate crime pic Vault, both which shine a spotlight on his native Rhode Island.

Martin Scorcese's powerful religious film, following the Catholic church's mission to instill Christianity in Fuedal Japan, Silence is coming out this March! Come inside to find out how you can get your hands on it early.
One of the biggest snubs of this year's Academy Awards, Silence, is making its way to digital and blu-ray, merely 3 months after being on the big screen. The Martin Scorsese religious feature, starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and Liam Neeson will arrive on Blu-Ray on March 28th, but for audiences who can't wait that long the Digital HD version will be available March 14th.

When asked what the hometown of horror is, Providence, Ri, doesn't immediately come to mind. But Woodhaven has become a prolific horror studio, located right in the heart of New England, and we recently visited the set of their newest film, Almost Mercy.
The location was a no-tell motel where, if the walls could talk…Omg, the stories they would tell! It was the perfect setting for one of the key scenes for the film. Director Tom DeNucci took some time out of his shooting schedule to talk about Almost Mercy and the progress of Woodhaven Productions.
"The film is definitely darker, definitely more sinister. It has a lot less of the campy throwback horror-comedy," DeNucci said. "However, it does have a very slick, cutting and mean dark comedy to it, which is fun. I've never had a chance to flex those muscles before. That I attribute to getting to work with B.

Woodhaven Production Company and Chad A. Verdi Productions have worked with some of the biggest names in horror, and now they are bringing in two more genre legends to star in their upcoming film Almost Mercy, written and directed by Tom DeNucci.
Both Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder will be featured prominently in the film.

Rock band Godsmack's frontman Sully Erna was there as well as horror icons Tony Todd and Michael Berryman, 'N Sync's Joey Fatone, wrestlers Tommy Dreamer, Maria Kanellis and Thea Trinidad, David Chokachi from "Baywatch" and veteran horror star Nick Principe. As fans of horror and entertainment in general, we thought our readers would appreciate meeting these cast members, and now producer Chad A. Verdi is making that a reality at this year's Rock and Shock convention.

To say that producer Chad A. Verdi has made a splash on the horror industry would be quite the understatement. In just the last two years he has produced films starring Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Michael Berryman and many more.
And he's just getting started.
Verdi inked a four-picture deal with Screen Media guaranteeing him distribution for his films before they were even made. A monumental feat for an independent film company. Now Verdi continues to add to his catalog of films, and even landed legendary director Martin Scorsese to co-produce a project he's always dreamed of making.
Verdi recently sat down with Dread Central to talk about his recently wrapped film Army of the Damned and his upcoming projects. "I feel Army of the Damned is the best horror movie we've made yet. No question about it," Verdi said. I think the actors came in, they delivered and with...

It's not often we hear of a cast as unique as the one producer Chad A. Verdi and Woodhaven Pictures put together for their upcoming film Army of the Damned. So when we got an invite to visit the Rhode Island set, it was a no-brainer.
Headlined by horror legend Tony Todd, the cast was an amazingly diverse bunch, and we got a chance to talk to all of them about their experiences filming Army of the Damned. There were so many key contributors to this movie that we had to break our report into a two-part series; in this section we talk with Todd, horror mainstay Nick Principe, wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer, gorgeous wrestlers Maria Kanellis and Thea Trinidad and one of Army of the Damned female leads, Jackie Moore.
We figured there was no one better to talk to on the set first than the icon, Tony Todd.

Producer Chad A. Verdi had already assembled a memorable cast for his current project, Army of the Damned, but the man behind Woodhaven Productions refuses to rest on his laurels.
Verdi has now added former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis and the infamous Jasmine St. Claire to the project.
Everyone has a favorite wrestling diva, but it is this writer's opinion that there has never been a more drop-dead gorgeous creature to enter the squared circle than Maria Kanellis. She is absolutely stunning, and as you can see by the still shot from Army of the Damned below, she's got no trouble getting into the action of a bloody horror film.
Kanellis and St. Claire are added to a very interesting cast. Verdi stated, "We have a very eclectic group of actors on this project: horror legends, rock and pop stars, TV and wrestling superstars, Playboy Playmates and the list goes on.

"Keep Away," "I Stand Alone," "Cryin' Like a Bitch"... sounds like a description of Doctor Gash's high school years. Actually these are few kick-ass Godsmack songs, and lead singer Sully Erna has been named to the cast of Woodhaven Pictures' upcoming Army of the Damned.
This will be Erna's feature film acting debut, and he will be joined by a delightfully diverse cast. Producer Chad A. Verdi has also announced that horror legend Michael Berryman, entertainer Joey Fatone, professional wrestlers turned actors Tommy Dreamer and Thea Trinidad, as well as a man who knows a little something about scaring people himself, Nick Principe, have been added to the cast. Jackie Moore and Tom Paolino round out the list of players. The film will be directed by Tom DeNucci and begin filming in April with additional cast members yet to be announced.
