They're all grown up! Modern Family is in its seventh season (and will go on for an eighth), and while the Pritchett and Dunphy families have made us laugh through all the years, they've also left us in disbelief. We're not talking about jaw-dropping plotlines; we're referring to how the show's kids have aged! Let's just say they're not kids anymore. Lily Tucker-Pritchett, Cam and Mitchell's adopted daughter, entered the show as a baby played by twins Jaden Hiller and Ella Hiller, but seven years later Modern Family needed a more grown up girl to play the part. Enter Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. Lily is the only character to swap actors, but you can't help it when you start to...

Meet the new Joe! When "Modern Family" Season 7 premieres on Wednesday, September 23, we'll be seeing a different Fulgencio Pritchett, aka Joe, son of Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay (Ed O'Neill). The toddler was played for the past two seasons by Pierce Wallace, but ABC recast the role with Jeremy Maguire. According to TVLine, Jeremy turns 4 on August 10. The site said producers wanted to recast the role as Joe will be "rough and tumble" this season, as a yin to Manny's yang.

Isn't he the cutest? They do look like they could be mother and son. (While Joe ages, Gloria just keeps looking younger every year.) This isn't the first time "Modern Family" has aged-up its kids.

A Family rep declined to comment, but I’m told producers are currently scouring Hollywood for a 4-year-old actor to portray Jay and Gloria’s newly “rough and tumble” son — Aka the ying to evolved older brother Manny’s yang.

E! Online reports that the producers of the ABC series "Modern Family" have posted a casting notice for an "Asian, 3- to 4-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Cameron" as a series regular role, apparently to permanently replace twins Ella and Jaden Hiller, who play gay couple Cameron and Mitchell's adopted baby Lily on the show.Cast members and producers have hinted in recent months that they might need to recast the role for next season, since Lily is supposed to grow quickly from a baby to a toddler. So are the Hiller twins out of a job?"At some point, Lily has to stop being a silent baby and has to become a little girl – a laughing, acting little girl," "Modern Family" executive producer Steve Levitan told EW.com in May. "We all may determine that as gorgeous and sweet as Jaden and Ella are, it's not what they signed up to.

When Zap2it attended a Paley Center event for "Modern Family" last summer, roughly half the audience shouted "Lily!" when the child first appeared in the episode screened before the Q-and-a. The adorable little girl, played by twins Ella and Jaden Hiller, certainly has her fans.
But alas, those fans will be seeing a new Lily in the coming season of the ABC comedy.
According to E! Online, "Modern Family" is recasting the role to make Lily a little bit older than she currently is. A casting notice is seeking a "3- to 4-year-old daughter of Mitchell [Jesse Tyler Ferguson] and Cameron [Eric Stonestreet]."
What that likely means is that Lily will be a little more animated -- and maybe even talk a little bit -- in the coming season, which could also see Mitchell and Cam start the process of bringing another child into their family.
That all makes perfect sense, and it's a...

Modern Family executives have reportedly decided to recast the role of Lily. Lily, who is the daughter of Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), was played in the first two seasons by twins Ella and Jaden Hiller. However, a new child star will be brought in to play Lily in the third season, E! Online claims. The show has allegedly sent out a casting notice for an "Asian, 3- to 4-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Cameron", suggesting that (more)...

'Modern Family' is about to lose one of its biggest scene-stealers: twins Ella and Jaden Hiller. According to E! Online, little Lily is being recast.
Producers have reportedly issued a casting notice for an "Asian, 3- to 4-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Cameron." Series star Jesse Tyler Ferguson hinted to E! about a possible recast, especially since Season 3 will feature a walking, talking Lily.
"Lily will definitely be more prominent in season three," he said. "It's interesting with children because we can't force this 2 and a half-year-old child to start speaking, and we don't know if the twins who play Lily are inclined toward acting, so maybe we'll cast another older child who can talk and who wants to be an actress to play Lily."

The term “family comedy” does not usually bring to mind laughs that are sharp or surprising. Corny-syrupy is more like it. But in 2010, Modern Family proved that you can’t always judge a series by its genre, as the show took home the Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy, among other accolades. Of course, as we toast Modern’s impressive collection of comedic talent (Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson), it’s easy to overlook an important part of the show — the part that’s not legally old enough to toast yet. That...

It has been revealed before that Mitchell of "Modern Family" used to hide his orientation as a teenager and his girlfriend back then would re-appear in his life. Mary Lynn Rajskub who has been hired to portray the gay-radar-less girlfriend made a trip to the set of the show to film her first scenes on Wednesday, October 13.
Rajskub, who was last seen on "24", arrived at The Grove in casual blue shirt and pants along with the show's regular cast members such as Ed O'Neill, Sofia Vergara, twins Ella Hiller and Jaden Hiller, Eric Stonestreet, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson who plays Mitchell. The rest of the cast were not present.
Shortly later, Rasjkub changed outfit to pattern shirt and blue cardigan while tagging along shopping bags. On the other end, Cam and Mitchell walk together with their baby Lily in stroll. It looks like they would film a scene where they...
