Does the last leg of the Hecks' journey travel the middle way, in the ninth season of The Middle TV show on ABC? As we know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether the TV show The Middle is cancelled or renewed for season 10. It's all over but the shouting, the hugging, and the "cooking." Fans don't have watch the ninth season of The Middle TV show, wondering whether it is cancelled or renewed for season 10. In early August, star Patricia Heaton announced season nine would be the comedy's final installment. The good news is, a few days later, the creators confirmed this was their choice and that the Alphabet Network was giving them an entire season to craft a satisfying Middle TV series finale. So, why track the ratings? Well, we're geeks like that, but also, it gives us a good benchmark by which to assess the success of other ABC TV shows, so stay tuned. Set in Orson, Indiana, The Middle stars Heaton, Mike Flynn, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher, and Atticus Shaffer. The ABC sitcom centers on the Heck family. Frankie (Heaton) and Mike...

This is the final part of my conversation with comics writer Robert Loren Fleming on the tragic backstory and forgotten history of DC’s Thriller comic book series. As I explained last week, this is actually an addendum to my recent article on this 80s cult favorite in TwoMorrow’s Back Issue Magazine.
Thriller was poised to be the next big thing from DC, but it seemed like many forces conspired against it. Despite it all, Thriller achieved a certain status. How did so many things go off the rails? The behind the scenes stories are as fascinating as the story between the covers.
Hazing, Publishing Style
There were some difficult things going on backstage at DC in those days. One of the uglier things was the hazing. It included everything from ripping up freelancers checks to harassing a female worker to the point where she was ready to clobber...

[[tmz:video id="0_oqltxok2"]] Former FBI Director James Comey's highly anticipated testimony had something for everyone -- supporters of President Trump, but also his detractors. Comey told Sen. Richard Burr he had no doubts Russia attempted to interfere, and made cyber attacks on voter files and the DNC -- but he's also confident they were not able to alter a single vote in the 2016 election. The biggest bombshell though was his explanation for why he took detailed notes after every meeting with President Trump.

President Trump continues to defend former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn because he “does not want to smear a good man,” White House spokesman Sean Spicer said Tuesday.

“It’s not question of defending Mike Flynn or not,” he said. “I think Mike Flynn is somebody who honorably served our country in uniform for over 30 years. And I think as he’s noted, Lt. General Flynn was...

As he’s neared his 100th day in office, President Trump has dismissed the milestone as meaningless.
In interviews, Trump has called the 100-day marker an “artificial barrier” and a “ridiculous standard,” perhaps in part because he’s faced setbacks on some of his signature issues.
So far, Trump’s three biggest setbacks have been on a stalled effort to ban travel from several Muslim-majority countries, a failed bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act and ongoing investigations into Russian meddling in the election.
He’s also faced a number of smaller setbacks, including a $25 million settlement on a lawsuit...

Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood has taken his well-publicized support of same-sex marriage one step further, calling upon the U.S. Supreme Court to drop Prop 8.
As Breitbart's Mike Flynn reports, the Oscar-winning actor and director joined more than 100 Republicans in signing a Supreme Court-bound brief in favor of allowing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (Lgbt) couples the right to legally wed in California.
Flynn describes Eastwood as a "ong-time Republican with strong libertarian leanings," and says that signing the Supreme Court briefs implies that he "is going to stay active in the political landscape."
One of Eastwood’s representatives and a spokesman for the American Foundation for Equal Rights, the group spearheading opposition to California’s law banning same-sex marriage, confirmed the news to NBC.
Former Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman and Gop strategist Steve Schmidt are among the other high-profile names to sign the brief, CBS News reports.
