Dutch documentary filmmaker Corinne van der Borch is based in Brooklyn. Mentored by experimental filmmaker Alan Berliner (Nobody's Business) and the pioneer of Direct Cinema Albert Maysles, her work has screened in Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, New York, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. She produced and directed her first feature length documentary 'Girl with Black Balloons', about Bettina, the oldest living resident of the Chelsea Hotel won the Grand Jury Metropolis prize at DOC NYC in 2011. Together with Norwegian producer/Sant & Usant Corinne directed a feature length Netflix Original documentary 'Sisters On Track', with Shola Lynch as the story consultant and Sam Pollard as her mentor and as the executive producer. The Colgate/Palmolive company financed the social impact campaign of the documentary. Most recently she is in development for a feature length film about cowboy boots and mental health in the American West.
