Billy Packer, whose caustic style and sharp insights as college basketball’s premier television analyst generated compliments as well as criticism for more than three decades, has died. He was 82.
Packer died of kidney failure after being hospitalized for the past three weeks in Charlotte, North Carolina, his son Mark told the Associated Press.

The Buchwald talent agency is expanding into the sports realm with the acquisition of Cse.
The goal is to blend Buchwald’s strength in TV news, broadcast hosts and sportscasters with Cse’s client base of athletes, executives and coaches to expand the enlarged agency’s reach.
“By merging our reputable entertainment client initiatives with Cse’s respected athletes, coaches and journalists, we will create multi-faceted brands and greater creative opportunities for our clients,” said Julia Buchwald and Ryan Martin in a joint statement.
Cse was founded in 1986 by Lonnie Cooper. The agency has offices in Atlanta, Miami, New York, Orlando, Fla., and Richmond, Va.

“Jump Shot,” a documentary from executive producer NBA star Stephen Curry telling the story of Kenny Sailors, the developer of the modern day jump shot in basketball, is set for a special one-night-only theatrical event on April 2.
The film, executive produced by Curry’s Unanimous Media, will be screened in more than 250 movie theaters across the U.S. through distributor Aspiration Entertainment in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing.
