Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “How’s It Going to Be?,” the Sept. 5 series finale of “Roswell, New Mexico.”
In May, The CW pulled the plug on seven shows, including “Roswell, New Mexico,” which was airing its fourth season. On Monday night, the drama aired its final episode — one that showrunner Chris Hollier and the writers planned on being the Season 4 finale, not the final episode ever.
During the last episode, Max (Nathan Parsons) headed off to save the world through portal — one that would allow him to return and live happily ever after with Liz (Jeanine Mason), who he still intended to eventually marry.
“There was one change afterwards where the console melted, and Liz would feel like, ‘Oh no, I just got engaged and maybe he’s trapped there forever.’ It was the only thing we removed,” he tells Variety, noting that...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Roswell, New Mexico series finale “How’s It Going to Be.”] For the most part, Roswell, New Mexico leaves its aliens and humans in a good place. The series finale saw the defeat of Clyde (Andrew Lees), Michael (Michael Vlamis) and Alex (Tyler Blackburn) getting married, and Liz (Jeanine Mason) and Max (Nathan Dean) finally get engaged. However, it also ended with Max leaving Liz behind (for now) to check on his home planet, with Dallas (Quentin Plair) — just as he and Maria (Heather Hemmens) got together — tagging along. Executive producer Chris Hollier breaks down the finale and teases what would’ve happened next. How would the season have ended if this hadn’t been the last one? Chris Hollier: There was one more scene after this potentially. There was a potential scene where Liz turned around and the console melted, so she was separated and stuck with no way for him ...

A wedding, an engagement and a journey to another planet — fans got all that and more in the series finale of “Roswell, New Mexico” on Monday night. And according to showrunner Chris Hollier, a lot of the night’s events were always the plan for the pod squad — except maybe Malex’s wedding.
Don’t worry, Michael Guerin (Michael Vlamis) and Alex Manes (Tyler Blackburn) were always meant for each other. Even Blackburn told TheWrap he’d have been “pissed” if the men didn’t get the ending they deserved. And indeed, Hollier told TheWrap this week that the “Roswell” writers “always knew there was a happy ending” for the pairing.
“We’d always talked about, like, the fact that we were starting Season 4 with a proposal, we expected people would have a wedding,” Hollier explained. “So how can we surprise them with what that wedding would be? And the answer was,...

Nathan Dean as Max Evans and Jeanine Mason as Liz Ortecho in ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ season 4 episode 13
The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season four episode 13 serves as both the season and series finale. Picking up seconds after the end of episode 12, “How It’s Going to Be“ begins with Clyde easily stopping Isobel and Max’s attack. Rosa (Amber Midthunder) concentrates on tuning in on Clyde’s frequency and manages to free herself from his restraint.
Rosa surprises Clyde by smashing him over the head with a board, which gives Max (Nathan Dean) time to prepare to use the blue flame. Unfortunately, Clyde also uses the flame and knocks everyone over before kidnapping Rosa and escaping in a car.
The #PodSquad discuss their next move and Bonnie suggests they need to destroy the portal before Clyde can use it. Michael (Michael Vlamis) thinks they should hold off on that drastic move and Max agrees.

Malex fans came close to their royal wedding on Monday night’s episode of “Roswell, New Mexico,” but in the end, no nuptials occurred. The good news is, they probably still will! According to series stars Tyler Blackburn and Michael Vlamis, a wedding between Alex and Michael is something they’ve wanted as much as the fans have.
“It was about time. I definitely felt that,” Vlamis told TheWrap of learning about this particular storyline. “I’ve been wanting that for a long time secretly, on and off set with Tyler. And so finally, you know, getting it on the show!”
Jokes aside, both Vlamis and Blackburn were pleased to know that the fans would be getting what they want from the writers, one way or another — even if there were some hiccups along the way. Of course, one of those hurdles is a bit more terrifying than the others,...

The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season four episode 12 is both the season and the series’ penultimate episode. Episode 11 ended with Clyde offering Shivani help bringing back her daughter, and episode 12 reveals she took him up on the offer.
Liz (Jeanine Mason), who’s still struggling with her addiction to the mist, concocts a new version of the mist that will return Max’s powers in just an hour. Max (Nathan Dean) explains he and Isobel discovered Shivani packed up her lab (including the pods) but left behind remnants of a formula on a board. Liz doesn’t recognize it and Max thinks it came from Clyde. Liz believes this mysterious formula might be used to remove Clyde’s brand. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 11 “Follow You Down.”] Roswell, New Mexico celebrates its 50th episode with a couple of major moments for a fan-favorite couple — but it’s too bad the happiness couldn’t last for long! In “Follow You Down,” Michael (Michael Vlamis) reunited with Alex (Tyler Blackburn) after journeying to the liminal space to find his missing boyfriend. And after Dallas (Quentin Plair) and Bonnie (Zoe Cipres) left to find the fruit that would open the portal home and give them some alone time, the couple caught up on what the other missed: Alex admitting he dreamed of getting home to Michael, and Michael explaining he’d let the fantasy of his planet distract him from what they’ve built together. Alex understood and told him he didn’t care if they were on other sides of the universe, as long as they were looking at the same stars … and then ...

Free Alex From The Underground!
I will be shouting that until we actually see Alex freed from the underground, which doesn't happen on Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 8. Though at least everyone knows he's missing now, and they even have a lead on his whereabouts.
Small victories, guys. Small victories.
This hour is a little up and down because the forward momentum stalls again in favor of more character work versus plot work, which isn't bad. It never feels wrong for Roswell to step back from the sci-fi and focus on the relationships, especially when one of the epic pairings of the season hasn't been as prevalent this season.
Malex were due this episode.
Alex's disappearance at the end of Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 2 feels like a long time ago, though in the show's storyline, it's only been a few days. And in that time, they've been dealing with...

Elsewhere in the Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 premiere, Max (Nathan Dean) planned to propose to Liz (Jeanine Mason), only for her to ask him to wait since she felt like the other shoe was about to drop. Michael (Michael Vlamis) moved in with Alex (Tyler Blackburn) and panicked after he broke a childhood touchstone, but Alex assured him, “what I can’t live without is you.” Anatsa (Sibongile Mlambo) told Isobel (Lily Cowles) she loves her, and the other woman responded in kind and was about to tell her she’s an alien when ...

Fans of Roswell, New Mexico, were given some bad news last week.
The sci-fi reboot has been canceled after four seasons.
The good news?
We still have an entire season to watch before the residents of the alien-filled town say goodbye for good.
The CW dropped the official trailer this week, and it teases the coming events in a big way.
While the show isn't getting a pre-planned conclusion, the ending is supposed to be satisfying enough for longtime fans.
“Mark Pedowitz [and] his team at The CW had the class [and] grace to warn the shows that they might not survive, even if The CW wanted them,” executive producer Julie Plec tweeted of Roswell and Legacies over the weekend.
“Because of that, the season finales of both shows were carefully crafted to also work as series finales.”

We love a good ship over here at TV Fanatic.
Lucky for us, 2021 gave us a ton of fun romantic relationships to gush over, from new duos setting sail to seasoned ships continuing to bring the passion (Grace and Judd for life).
And we were blessed with some of our all-time favorite ships Finally getting together. Basically, there was a lot of love this past year, and we're not mad about it.
But not every ship is a good ship, or even a tolerable one. And while there were a lot of amazing couples, there were, unfortunately, some not-so-great ones that stood out to us this year as well.
The TV Fanatic staff picked out our current top couples (and a few of the worst), and you can find them all down below!

Have you caught your breath yet?
Talk about one hell of a cliffhanger! Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 Episode 13 left viewers with a plethora of questions and Shiri Appleby! That's right, the Og Liz was on-screen, and the reveal gave me goosebumps!
Here is part two of my conversations with EP Christopher Hollier and Michael Vlamis, which takes a closer look at the finale and peek at what's ahead.
There was a tremendous amount of information dumped on the audience throughout those two hours, with Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 Episode 12 being the softer of the two, with a greater focus on the quieter moments between characters.
Hour two was heavier on the action but still gave us some beautiful scenes as well.
When asked about the importance of including those moments into a science-fiction show, Hollier remarked, "It's very important. We always break from a place of character, right? And we were also looking too,...

"Look, we got our interview!" Michael Vlamis said to me as we started our chat about all things Roswell, New Mexico Season 3, and in particular, the upcoming season finale.
I've not so secretly wanted a chance to speak with Michael Vlamis for a long time now because he's the dream interview. Getting to talk to an actor who brings so much heart and soul to the characters he brings to life is all we want as critics. And Vlamis is nothing short of amazing to speak with.
And if that wasn't enough of a treat, I also got a chance to interview EP Christopher Hollier, who speaks about the show with so much reverence and joy.
Both men were open, honest, and incredibly insightful as they talked about some of the best moments of the season at large and gave us a little preview of what's to come on Roswell,...

Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 has shown us a new side to Rosa Ortecho.
Between exploring her powers and continuing to find herself in this new world, Rosa has found her niche within the group and has been a valuable asset in the fight against the season's big bad.
Amber Midthunder took a few minutes to talk with us about Rosa's journey, her favorite dynamics, and what she's excited for the audience to see over the final episodes this year!
Rosa has had quite the journey this season. Can you speak to that journey and what you enjoyed most about it?
I mean, what a big question. So, many things. The whole thing I've enjoyed. I think this season has been my favorite, both shooting and my experience just personally of shooting it was, I think, the most fun that I've had any of the years. And also kind of what...

Set in tropical surroundings, four friends set off to investigate the urban legend of a terrifying episode that occurred on a Hawaiian island that saw a palatial hotel resort abandoned due to the presence of the infamous Half-Faced Girl. One of the quartet, Lex (Bianca Haase) is finishing a horror book and hopes the trip will allow her to find some much-needed research and background for it, but she and friends Chris (O’Hurn), Bree (Michelle Randolph), and Sam (Michael Vlamis) get much more than they bargained for.

I’m sure I’m very wrong but it feels like there are about a dozen low budget horror movies with the title ‘The Resort’ and this one 2021 is the latest one. In it we see a group of four friends head to Hawaii to investigate reports of a haunted abandoned hotel and the story of the Half-Faced Girl.
To be fair The Resort doesn’t come across as a particularly low budget affair. It’s shot decently enough and the production values look better than most (that aren’t super big budget). The location is key to a lot of this but with that, this abandoned hotel is part of both good points in the movie and bad ones. It’s good, well better than good, because it’s this...

It’s a wonder that “holiday horror” isn’t a recognised subgenre given there are so many films about vacationing families, friends or couples coming up against a plethora of maniacal/supernatural rivals, as in the recent likes of You Should Have Left, The Rental, Koko-di Koko-da, Death of Me and Get In.
This latest, The Resort, centres on Lex (Bianca Haase), a writer and determined “final girl” type visiting a supposedly haunted resort on Hawaiian island Kilahuna, and with a group of friends in tow to celebrate her birthday. Lex wants to visit the island to conduct research for a writing project, but the group soon find themselves stalked and at the mercy of a skulk of malevolent spectres.
Supporting characters/genre stereotypes arise in the guise of Lex’s friends meat-head/jock douche with a heart of gold, Chris (Brock O’Hurn), the sarcastic, booze abusing Sam (Michael Vlamis...

"It's not a legend." Vertical Ent. has released the first official trailer for a horror film titled The Resort, the second feature from filmmaker Taylor Chien (after Cornered previously). This hasn't played at any fests but will be out to watch at the end of April this spring. For her birthday, Lex's three closest friends decide to take her on a surprise trip to a supposedly haunted island resort. When the four friends arrive in Hawaii to investigate the reports of a haunting at an abandoned resort in hopes of finding the infamous "Half-Faced Girl" haunting the grounds, they soon learn you should be careful what you wish for... This stars Bianca Haase, Brock O'Hurn, Michael Vlamis, and Michelle Randolph. It looks like they shot this at actual abandoned resort for real, which makes it another meta level of freaky on top of everything else going down. Here's the official...

Season four will air during the 2021-22 television season (roughly September 2021 through August 2022). Year three will launch at some point during the current 2020-21 season. It's unclear how many episodes either season will have.
Season three of Roswell, New Mexico stars Jeanine Mason, Nathan Dean, Michael Vlamis, Lily Cowles, Tyler Blackburn, Heather Hemmens, Michael Trevino, Trevor St. John, and Amber Midthunder. Tanner Novlan, Steven Krueger, David DeSantos, Michael Grant Terry, and Gillian Vigman will all recur.

Exclusive: Bones alum Michael Grant Terry and Gillian Vigman (Life Sentence) are set for recurring roles on the upcoming third season of the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico.
Written by Carina Adly MacKenzie and directed by Julie Plec, the reimagined Roswell, like the original, is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz.
Terry will play Jordan, the son of Roswell’s Mayor Bernhardt, a privileged young man who blames his failure to measure up to his parents’ high expectations on the influx of immigrants and people of color in his community. As the leader of a grassroots group dedicated to preserving the status quo in Roswell, Jordan will go toe to toe with our heroes as racial tensions in town bubble to the surface.
Vigman will play Roswell’s diligent new Sheriff Brooke Taylor, a tough yet charismatic officer elected on a mandate of law and order.
