The spandex adventures of Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart are set to arrive. At the Tribeca Film Festival, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl director Chris Marrs Piliero said that the series, which stars Helbig and Hart as plucky superheroes, will be a launch title on Fullscreen’s upcoming subscription video service, which arrives on April 26th.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl is a reboot of a 70s TV series from Sid and Marty Krofft (whose journey to the digital world is a whole story on its own). The new version of the show comes from Fullscreen and Legendary, which are hoping to leverage the star power of the content creators cast in the two titular roles. Between their respective channels, Helbig and Hart count more than five million subscribers.

Ariana Grande has settled the "Han Shot First" debate, which has long plagued the Star Wars fandom, with impeccable logic and, for good measure, a double blaster of her own.

In the short clip celebrating The Force Awakens, Grande kicks back while two sloshed aliens argue over whether Greedo or Han Solo fired first at the cantina on Mos Eisley. "Ugh, God, you're both wrong," Grande finally butts in. "Han didn't shoot first because Greedo never fired off...

Watch out, Wonder Woman and Black Widow: Electra Woman and Dyna Girl are the newest names in the female superhero business. Fullscreen and Legendary have just released a teaser trailer for their upcoming digital series Electra Woman & Dyna Girl, starring YouTube sensations Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart.
Based on a 1970’s show of the same title from producers Sid and Marty Krofft, Electra Woman & Dyna Girl tells the tale of Electra Woman (Helbig) and Dyna Girl (Hart), two crime-fighting caped crusaders from Ohio who move to Los Angeles to eliminate bigger problems. In the teaser video, Helbig lightheartedly describes the show as “a survival of friendship in a world where survival is questionable.” The digital star also says Electra Woman & Dyna Girl is like “DuckTales meets Superman meets, like, an E! fashion review show,” which Hart immediately agrees with.

Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart will soon have a claim to fame as two female superheroes. The YouTubers have teamed with Legendary Digital Media and Fullscreen to bring the online video masses a reboot of the 1970’s TV show Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl tells the story of two superheroes who leave Akron, Ohio, for Los Angeles, California, to find better crime-fighting opportunities. However, the two women endowed with unique powers reach the City of Angels only to find far more competition (both internal and external) than they were expecting. Helbig will star as Electra Woman and Hart as Dyna Girl.
While the format and platform of the Electra Woman and Dyna Girl project is yet to be determined, Fullscreen is on board to release the project in the U.S., with Legendary Television Distribution handling global distribution. Music video director Chris Marrs Piliero is set to helm the project,...

Months ago, rumors began circulating that Britney Spears and longtime boyfriend Jason Trawick were going to tie the knot. And on Friday (December 16), sources close to the pair and a mysterious tweet from the star herself confirmed that the couple is engaged.
Trawick had already been working with the star as her agent at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment when they began dating in 2009. They went public with their romance when they showed up hand-in-hand to the 2010 Grammy Awards. That May, the two decided to separate their business and personal relationships, and it was confirmed that Trawick would no longer be representing Spears.
The pair have always been pretty low-key. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest this March, the pop star opened up about their life together. "We're really normal,...

[1] Last year saw the debut of The Viewfinder List [2], which aims to do for aspiring filmmakers what The Black List does for screenwriters. Compiled from a poll of "studio executives, producers, and creatives," The Viewfinder List reflects the most-liked shorts, commercials, and/or music videos of the year. The inaugural list in 2010 included such up-and-comers as Patrick Jean, whose Pixels is due out in 2013, 47 Ronin director Carl Erik Rinsch, and, um, Alejandro González Iñárritu. This year's list has Dan Trachtenberg's Portal: No Escape on top, along with a few other videos you may recognize if you've been paying attention to /Film for the past year. Or even if you haven't -- that adorable Super Bowl Volkswagen ad with the little Darth Vader kid also made the cut, as did Chris Marrs Piliero's video for The Black Keys. Check out the full 2011 Viewfinder List -- with video! -- after the jump.

Taking Back Sunday have just debuted a music video in support of their latest single "Faith (When I Let You Down)". The clip follows a "cat man" tasting an overnight fame via self-made YouTube video and appearing on an "Eileen Show". He then tries out a bunch of auditions for a role in the big screen only to end up landing a role in a porn flick.
"Faith (When I Let You Down)" is lifted from Adam Lazzara-fronted band's self-titled album "Taking Back Sunday". Its music video which mocks YouTube sensations like Rebecca Black comes from direction hands of Chris Marrs Piliero.
Explaining why they dropped an eponymous effort, the vocalist gushed, "We haven't had a self-titled album, and going back to the original line-up, it seems appropriate, but who knows by the end of the recording process." They have released four studio albums before doing this self-titled one.

Britney Spears didn't play into her sexy pop star persona for her Lol-worthy "I Wanna Go" video. Instead, she made fun of it by verbally flipping off annoying reporters, battling cyborg paparazzi, flirting with sexy street cops and buddying up to Weeds30 Rock star Jack McBrayer. The bottom line is sometimes it's nice to know pop stars are in on the joke.
And, it seems that those who work in the world of pop culture and know all things Britney agree. "The video did what it was supposed to and then some! Not only do you see Britney having lots of fun, but you also hear her speak and are just watching her look very normal," Perez Hilton shared with us early Wednesday, right after the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed video dropped. Video director Chris Marrs Piliero knows how to use low-brow, absurdist and the spotted use of cameo, as is apparent by one of his brightest, the Black Keys' "Howlin for You." Now he's been paired up with America's sweetheart and punching bag Britney Spears, and together they strike back and break hearts with "I Wanna Go." And the result is fun for fans. There's little Easter eggs throughout the clip of Britney's past and present, and of course, the recurring theme of death-to-the-paparazzi. The former Mouseketeer dons a cutoff tee with a Mickey Mouse skull, and a polka dot bikini underneath...

Britney Spears proved her comedic chops on the small screen in her cameo on "How I Met Your Mother," and now she's once again displaying her funny bone in the video for "I Wanna Go," which dropped Wednesday (June 22).
Like he did with Ke$ha before, director Chris Marrs Piliero makes off-kilter pop culture references and pokes fun at the idea of the sexy pop star. There's a number of Spears-related references, including a polka dot bikini top as an homage, perhaps, to Minnie Mouse, her skull-wearing Mickey Mouse ears T-shirt and a movie theater marquee that reads "Crossroads 2: Cross Harder."
Spears has touched on her relationship with the media in the past, but perhaps not with this much humor or self-deprecation.

Britney Spears is taking a stand against the paparazzi in the music video for her new single "I Wanna Go," which premiered online Wednesday morning (June 22). In the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed clip she slings a microphone their way, knocking them off their perch. But it's hardly the first time Spears has taken a tongue-in-cheek approach to making a statement about the tabloid media.
In fact, since early on in her career, Spears has examined her love-hate affair with the prying lens of the paparazzi. After bursting on the pop scene in the late 1990s with a naughty girl-next-door image that made her a star, Spears learned that fame would come with lots of attention from the press. And,...

After giving fans a taste of the Femme Fatale stage setup, Britney Spears is opening up some more about her tour, just days away from its big launch. In an interview airing Wednesday night (June 8), Spears says that she's working hard to make sure that everything goes just right for the tour, which kicks off on June 16 with Nicki Minaj."I'm really excited," she told "Entertainment Tonight." It’s for a short film though… or actually more like a music video.
Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, it was reportedly created around a song by The Black Keys. The cast, along with Todd Bridges, includes Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Sean Patrick Flanery, Corbin Bernsen, and of course The Black Keys themselves.
Synopsis: Alexa Wolff, a sexy assassin with a troubled past, unknowingly falls in love with the man who killed her father. He is not her first love, though. Two other men came before. But they would not have her. Now, all grown up with an appetite for revenge, Alexa’s leaving a trail of bloody corpses and broken hearts in her wake.
