It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Slender: The Arrival landed for PCs and consoles. Now, it appears that Blue Isle Studios’ jump scare machine is getting ready to go again later this summer.
A new update to the official site for Slender: The Arrival has brought us a countdown timer, which currently stands at 34 days. That would put the countdown at July 27th for a reveal of, well, something. Adding to the mystery is a new 14-second teaser, which you can see below. The teaser is appropriately cryptic, since Slenderman is nowhere to be found. Instead, we get a rather sickly individual at the base of the stairs who doesn’t move. Creepy.
As for just what the reveal will be is anyone’s guess. Is Blue Isle planning a new entry in the series, or a remake that gives the 2013 game a fresh coat of paint?...

“Linoleum” starts out as one kind of movie, drops teasing hints that it might be another type of film and ultimately plot-twists into, well, something else. All of which makes it difficult to review, much less describe in detail, without spilling an economy size bag of beans. But wait, there’s more: It’s also a movie that, not unlike “The Usual Suspects” or “Jacob’s Ladder,” likely will drive some viewers to opt for an instant replay after closing credits roll by, to see if that final twist actually does a watertight job of answering and explaining. Why? To quote a line of dialogue repeated almost as a mantra throughout the proceedings: It’s not that simple.

If we lived in an alternate universe where Bill Nye never got his big break, relegated to shooting his lo-fi children’s show from his garage and submitting tapes to a local affiliate in hopes he’d advance to a prime Sunday morning slot, it would look something like the one Cameron Edwin (Jim Gaffigan) occupies. As his marriage is also on the brink of collapse, his midlife crisis conveniently dovetails with an old Russian rocket falling in his backyard. Edwin decides to make the most of the opportunity and attempt to fulfill his dreams of being an astronaut. An effective concoction of cosmic mystery and earnest emotion to elevate its small-scale, homespun design, Colin West’s Linoleum evolves into a nifty, heartfelt sci-drama.

Jim Gaffigan is best known for his comedic antics, whether it's on the stand-up stage or as a myriad of supporting characters in films like "Going the Distance" or shows like "Bob's Burgers." Every now and then, Gaffigan digs into more dramatic territory with films like "Chappaquiddick" and "Light from Light," but you've never seen the comedian in a role that resonates as emotionally as his performance in the upcoming indie "Linoleum."
A selection from the 2022 South by Southwest Film Festival, "Linoleum" finds Gaffigan playing Cameron, an astronomer who once dreamed of being an astronaut but settled for creating and hosting "Above and Beyond," a Bill Nye-esque educational program that isn't exactly rolling in the high ratings, largely thanks to its midnight timeslot. But Cameron is about to get a boost of ambition after his wife (Rhea Seehorn) asks for a divorce, he loses his show to PBS where...

Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Blue Isle Studios has announced that the long-awaited arrival of Slender Man is happening; with Slender: The Arrival set to launch on PlayStation 3 on September 23rd, 2014.
Alex Tintor, founder and creative director at the small-scale company, spoke of his admiration for the PlayStation fans and how they influenced the studio’s decision to bring the revered horror title to PS3:
“Over the past two years we’ve gotten literally thousands of messages from Playstation fans asking us to bring the game to PS3. We knew it would be a lot of hard work, but we totally agreed. The ultimate Slender Man experience had to be from the comfort of your living room on a big screen TV.”
Billed as the continuation of Mark Hadley’s eerie and spine-chilling viral hit, Slender: The Eight Pages, Blue Isle Studios’ first-person horror title originally released through Steam in October of last year.

"Slender: The Eight Pages," the experimental horror game from indie designer Mark Hadley, has gone through something of a reimagining as they say at Blue Isle Entertainment.
This official followup is coming to the PC in March, and if you preorder it, you'll get instant Beta access to the game.
Promising an all-new storyline and improved visuals, "The Arrival" is a full-on continuation of the first game with the writers of Marble Hornets onboard providing the script. The game (and its predecessor) are all about that tight-chested feeling of being lost in the wilderness with the certain feeling that something is after you, a deliberate horror title about the mood and texture of being afraid rather than the immediacy of the jump scare.
