Taylor Jenkins Reid fans, rejoice! Netflix announced back in March 2022 that it's adapting Reid's best-selling novel "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" into a movie. At the time, the streamer shared that the adaptation will be written by Liz Tigelaar, who served as the showrunner for other book-to-screen adaptations like "Little Fires Everywhere" and "Tiny Beautiful Things." Universal Pictures has acquired rights to Susanna Hoffs’ novel “This Bird Has Flown,” setting a feature adaptation with Liza Chasin and Bruna Papandrea producing.

“The Last Mrs. Parrish,” a best-selling novel about a twisted con-artist, is getting the movie treatment at Netflix.
The streaming service landed the rights to the novel, written by Liv Constantine, and plans to adapt it into a feature film. Amazon in 2019 announced it was developing a TV series based on the book, but the project has since been scrapped.
“The Last Mrs. Parrish,” a Reese Witherspoon’s book club pick, has sold over half a million copies and has been published in over 30 countries. The story, a psychological thriller, centers on a con-woman who targets a wealthy couple — the Parrishes — as her next victims. Exclusive: Netflix has acquired rights to a pitch from Ben Queen that is loosely based on the novel A Note of Explanation, to be adapted by Queen into a feature film.
A Note of Explanation, a previously unknown work by famed writer Vita Sackville-West and written in 1922, was recently rediscovered as a miniature book in Queen Mary’s dollhouse in Windsor Castle, and tells the story of a time-travelling sprite who inhabits the dollhouse.
Liza Chasin will produce for 3dot Production under her overall deal with Netflix. 3dot’s Margaret Chernin will oversee for the company.
Queen is currently writing The Addams Family sequel for MGM and Long Distance for Netflix with Aggregate attached to produce. He is also co-writing a pilot with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack for MRC. Previously, he wrote Cars 2 and Cars 3 for Pixar and created the TV series A to Z at NBC.

Syfy is linking up with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck‘s Pearl Street Films and CBS Television Studios to develop the futuristic espionage thriller, “Incorporated.” The series tells the story of one man's efforts to beat a corrupted system, where corporations have seemingly unlimited power. See video: Jennifer Garner on Husband Ben Affleck's ‘Gone Girl’ Nude Scene: ‘You're Welcome’ David and Alex Pastor (“Selfless”, “The Last Days”) will write the pilot. Ted Humphrey (“The Good Wife”) is executive producer/showrunner. Damon, Affleck and Jennifer Todd will also executive produce. Pearl Street Films’ Margaret Chernin will serve as associate producer.

Warner Bros.-based production company Gulfstream Pictures has added three new executives to its development and production divisions, the company announced on Wednesday. Josie Rosen, left, who produced "New Year's Eve" and "Valentine's Day" with Gulfstream co-chief Mike Karz, joins the company as Executive Vice President of development and production. Rosen has worked at Karz Entertainment, Farrell Paura Productions and 20th Century Fox. Margaret Chernin and Matt Phelps are also joining the company as creative executives.
