The Church is a film from director Dom Frank. Already released in theatres, The Church is set to show at more retailers, in early August. The film stars: Bill Moseley (3 From Hell), Ashley C. Williams (The Human Centipede) and Clint Howard. In the film, a local holy site is slated for demolition. A pastor has mixed feelings about the destruction and so does the Holy Spirit. Now, everyone is being targeted for their sins. The Church had its online debut earlier this month. This indie thriller also showed in theatres, this past July 16th. Now, the film is set to show in more DVD retailers this August 6th. There are plenty of opportunities to see the film, on home entertainment platforms, this Summer. The Lord works in injurious ways in “The Church,” a low-budget indie horror meller that traps protagonists in a house of worship where they’re beset by malevolent spirits. Just what those spirits are — whether they’re working for Yahweh or Beelzebub or both, etc. — is among many key questions left murky in a film that lands squarely on the amateurish end of the scale as both pure genre exercise and faith-based entertainment. Ambitiously opening on 30 U.S. screens, the project is best viewed as a training ground for first-time feature writer-director Dom Frank, who can only do better with the already-announced sequel.

First Clip from Alice D: “In the late 1890s the Davenport House was a famous and successful brothel, until a young prostitute named Alice killed herself there. After her death, the brothel became haunted by Alice’s ghost, and was eventually abandoned.
More than a century later, the old structure is renovated into a beautiful mansion. It is still rumored to inhabit the ghost of Alice. Despite this, the new owner; the rich and arrogant heir to the Davenport fortune, decides to throw a wild party for his first night in the house.
