Maroon 5 and Jimmy Fallon disguised themselves as bearded buskers and hit the New York City subways in a charming Tonight Show web video. Singer Adam Levine and guitarist James Valentine performed acoustic renditions of the group's 2014 hit "Sugar" and Queen's 1979 hit "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," with the late-night host assisting on tambourine.
During the Queen cover, most people walked by the performance disinterested – and totally oblivious to the musicians' true identities. (It also helped that Levine also masked his signature vocal style with a huskier, heavier tone.

Father John Misty performed his grandiose orchestral ballad "Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution" Tuesday on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
A stoic-looking Josh Tillman transformed into his warped crooner persona – often singing his satirical, post-apocalyptic lyrics in a tender falsetto as his massive band crescendoed with brass, strings and guitars.
"Revolution" appears Pure Comedy, Father John Misty's third LP. Last month, Tillman released the song's vivid yet depressing stop-motion video, in which a nomad wanders through an abandoned city littered with blown-up cars and decrepit buildings.

Lorde gets real about fame and bullies.
The 20-year-old singer became a breakout star in 2013 when she released her debut hit single, "Royals." The song catapulted the then-16-year-old to stardom and earned her high praise from the music industry.

But the fame and attention happened so quickly that Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-o'Connor, felt "overwhelmed" and realized that she's not the best at being a celebrity.
"When it was happening, I was quite overwhelmed by it," the singer told NME in an interview on Thursday. "But that was a long time ago. If anything, I’ve slowly been getting less famous since 'Royals' was really big. Which is totally cool for me, I suck at being famous. And that’s fine."
Lorde also admitted that being criticized and body shamed "rocked my foundation...

"I think it's a great anthem for people to use whenever someone's trying to hold you down or bully you," Perry replied, without naming names. "That's kind of what this record is about. It's just like [a] 360-degree liberation."
"'Chained to the Rhythm' was this political liberation.'Bon Appétit' was a sexual liberation," she added. "And now, I think 'Swish' represents the liberation from all the negative that doesn’t serve you."

Stephen Colbert introduced a new segment on The Late Show on Monday night titled "Lyrics We Can Afford to Songs We Love." In the first installment, Green Day sang "Camptown Races" – written by the 19th century American songwriter Stephen Foster, and thus freely available in the public domain – over their 1997 hit, "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)."
Green Day performed the song acoustically in the dressing room, with Billie Joe Armstrong strumming a guitar and Late Show bandleader Jon Batiste accompanying him. Colbert and Armstrong traded lead vocals, while Mike Dirnt...

Like some of the best illustrations that graced the covers of fantasy novels and heavy metal albums in the ’70s and ’80s, Arik Roper's artwork is a portal to another world brimming with adventure and endless possibilities. Ahead of his appearance as a featured artist at MondoCon 2016 this weekend in Austin, TX, we caught up with Roper for a special "Meet the Artist" Q&A feature, and we also have a look at some of the eye-popping artwork he'll be bringing to this year's MondoCon.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Arik. What sparked your initial interest in being an artist?
Arik Roper: It was a natural path for me, being an artist. Both my parents were artists. I was surrounded by it and I instinctively was drawn toward it, and received a lot of encouragement.
Your art often transports people deep into the realms of fantasy and horror.
