After the supremely disappointing Insidious: Chapter Three, I was hoping that the sequel to The Conjuring wouldn’t go the same route, and thankfully it didn’t for the most part. It’s not as effective as the first film in many ways, but it doesn’t destroy the momentum created by the earlier film like the third entry of the Insidious saga. Early whispers about the second conjuring suggested it would be about Amityville, and while that sounded cool, Amityville has been done-to-death by this point, so I was glad to learn that, while it would be mentioned, another case of the Warrens would be the primary focus of The Conjuring 2.
