Aavo Harju
- Production Manager
- Additional Crew
In the fall of 1979 Aavo Harju began a nearly 20 year career at the ABC Television Network. He was hired by the Broadcast Operations and Engineering division in New York City and began work on behind-the-scenes technical engineering - first helping with design and construction of new broadcast studios and facilities, then moved over to the TV network-operations side, working his way up to the position of Senior Technical Manager. Over the years he worked on everything from soap operas to the Olympics, Good Morning America, and other programs, working alongside the very talented people of ABCNews during that time. After leaving ABC, Aavo retired early. He has spent time since then raising a family and being a hockey dad. He has been pursuing his interests in geopolitics and genealogy, writing a book about his family's harrowing escape from Estonia in 1944. He has been sending out the weekly EstoNews email newsletter since 2014.
