Not one to be a dull boy, Funko is looking to break collectors out of the rut of all work and no play with new Pop! vinyl figures based on the fractured family from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining (based on Stephen King's novel of the same name).
Now officially revealed by Funko, The Shining Pop! vinyl figures will be released in August and you can view all four of them below.
From Funko: "Come out, come out, wherever you are!
From Stanley Kubrick's classic psychological thriller, The Shining comes the Torrance family!
They live in the creepy, mountain-isolated Overlook Hotel, but we won’t hold that against them, as they are now receiving the Pop! vinyl treatment!
Here comes Jack - featured with his signature axe. Wendy and Danny Torrance are shown with knives of their own.

What's The Shining really about? We delve into the underlying theme of Stanley Kubrick's horror classic...
Few horror films have been as closely studied and intimately dissected as Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. The simple story of a family ripped apart by the effects of a remote, haunted hotel, Kubrick's film has only grown in mystique since its release in 1980. Clearly, there's far more going on below the surface, but what does Kubrick's imagery and symbolism - much of it unique to the film, and absent from Stephen King's source novel - actually mean?

Rodney Ascher's superb 2012 documentary Room 237 pulled together some of the more outlandish theories about The Shining. It's Kubrick's veiled confession that he helped Nasa fake the 1969 Moon landings,...

(Updated: in Deadline's original article, it was implied that the titular Jack was Jack the Ripper, but this is apparently not true and has since been corrected). Danish maverick Lars Von Trier has announced the first cast in his upcoming feature The House That Jack Built and the cast announcement has brought quite a few plot details along with it. Matt Dillon will star as notorious serial killer Jack in the film with Bruno Ganz starring opposite as a character referred to only as Verge at this point, who sounds like a sort of confidant to Jack - or at least the mechanism that we're told the story through as Verge engages Jack in a series of conversations about his actions. Here's how Deadline sums...

Kids In Love tells a very specific coming-of-age story. Not a universal one by any stretch, but rather an exploration of what it’s like to be a middle class British young man who’s just reached the end of compulsory education. Options are sprawled in front of Will Poulter’s Jack - an unpaid internship, a gap year, a university course – but none of them particularly interest him.
Enter Alma Jodorowsky as Evelyn, a Frenchwoman living in London who parties at places that Jack can’t even describe. She lives in a big quirky house filled with free-spirited pals, including Cara Delevingne’s Viola (an interesting role for the Suicide Squad alum, with a certain wit and warmth emerging alongside a vast collection of colourful headbands), Evelyn’s loathsome boyfriend Cassius (co-writer Preston Thompson) and the film’s breakthrough comedic force Milo (the other co-writer,...

Twisted twins and doppelgangers. Some engage in incest, others just have horrible, even life-threatening relationships.
For some reason, the shows with twins played by the same actor or actress, in this case Alexandra Chando of The Lying Game, or Sarah Michelle Gellar of Ringer, don't seem to last very long.
But these relationships are always so juicy and dark because even compared to siblings, there's just a certain bond between twins that is undeniable and leads to much deeper rifts in their family fabric.
Seems like daytime soaps have an uncanny habit of revealing a shocking doppelganger.
Below, here are some of our favorite dark, deep, twisty, and puzzling twin relationships.
1. Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce - The Vampire Diaries Well, they weren't really twins, but doppelgangers are close enough, right? Dobrev did a marvelous job of separating these two, and an eventual third, Amara, but working as two different...

There are some characters on TV that talk way too much.
They can be the nicest of people, but they just can't stop talking.
They take talking to a whole new level and it leaves us wishing they would put a sock in it.
We've compiled a list of 17 characters that really need to do just that.
1. Frank - Shameless There are times when Frank speaks the truth, but most of the time he has his mouth open, he's trying to find a way to screw his family over for his gain. He's not the best of people. That's for sure. Remember that time he talked too much and it resulted in Liam being held prisoner? 2. Chet - UnREAL There was a time when Chet was a great character on UnREAL, but he's just faded into mediocrity. He pops up here and there to lay down the facts about why Everlasting is his show,...

We've been celebrating actors all month, and today one of our most legendary deserves a double dose of celebration: Jack Nicholson turns 79!
Nicholson is currently enjoying a low-key retirement. He hasn't been seen on the silver screen since James L. Brooks misfire How Do You Know, but his monolithic legacy of landmark work still feels fresh and the films rewatchable. We're lucky to still have an actor with us who can continue to inspire awe with performances like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest's McMurphy or The Joker. It's saying something that he's Oscar's most recognized actor, but has plenty of worthy unnominated worthy performances to add to the heap - Batman, Carnal Knowledge, and even The Shining.
Yes, he remains Oscar's golden son. His winning performances - Cuckoo's Nest, Terms of Endearment, and As Good As It Gets - are a great example of the range of his talents: ferocity,...
