The gifts keep on coming for “The Witcher” fans today, as not long after Netflix revealed the show’s Season 2 premiere date out of WitcherCony, the streaming service dropped the first teaser for the second season of the Henry Cavill-led series as well.
Watch the teaser for “The Witcher” Season 2 via the video above.
In the clip, you’ll see Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) and Geralt (Cavill), finally together after first meeting at the very end of Season 1, and Ciri asking the witcher if she is his “destiny,” to which he replies, she’s “much more” than that. Geralt then takes Ciri with him to meet his witcher brothers at Kaer Morhen, and begins to teach her how to run, how to hide, and how to fight monsters. Although that last one is something he seems very reluctant to be doing.

Netflix revealed the first page of the script for the Season 2 premiere of “The Witcher” Tuesday. And yes, there is actually something happening on that page that fans will care about.
Henry Cavill’s monster hunter Geralt of Rivia has the first line of the season, which is said in a voiceover at night in a small mountain town: “You dogged my every footstep. But struck down others I passed on my way. Why?”
A merchant man and his wife and daughter are seeking lodging in this town, which is apparently abandoned and for good reason: The wife immediately goes missing from their cart, leaving the daughter covered in blood. Soon, the merchant is dragged off by the unknown creature attacking them as well.
“I was meant to end up alone, wasn’t I?” So I would finally begin to be afraid?” Geralt’s voiceover continues.

Netflix on Saturday dropped a montage of Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia fighting horrifying creatures in “The Witcher,” mostly in Season 1 but with a quick look at some big bads coming in the show’s upcoming second season.
In the video, which you can view above, “Monster Mash” plays — because it’s Halloween, naturally — while Geralt’s greatest monster-fighting hits roll. Around the 0:15 mark you’ll get your first glimpse of a multi-legged creature that we don’t want to get anywhere near. And at the 0:30 stamp you’ll see some kind of being made up of three skeletons — yikes.

The Witcher Season 2 has cast Basil Eidenbenz for the role of Eskel, replacing the previously tapped Thue Ersted Rasmussen.
Swiss actor Eidenbenz will fill the role of Eskel, which was vacated by Rasmussen over rescheduling issues attributed to Covid-19, reports Deadline. Pertinently, Netflix’s The Witcher was among an entire industry-wide slate of productions that halted back in March as Covid escalated to a pandemic level; an occurrence that leaves the series with a lingering issue upon its recent return, since Rasmussen had been filming scenes as Eskel starting in late February before the early-March shutdown. Consequently, the recasting of the character with Eidenbenz calls for reshoots.

“The Witcher” has recast the upcoming role of Eskel with actor Basil Eidenbenz, Variety has confirmed.
In February, Netflix originally announced that actor Thue Ersted Rasmussen would be taking on the role of the fellow Witcher in the Henry Cavill-starring series. However, Rasmussen had to drop out of “The Witcher” due to rescheduling conflicts caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Eidenbenz, a Swiss actor, has previously appeared in the British historical drama “Victoria,” “The Athena” and had a role in “The Favourite” starring Olivia Colman and Emma Stone. Netflix wasted no time kick-starting Season 2 of The Witcher after 76 million households were noted to have watched at least some of Season 1 in the first month of its release. Filming on the sophomore run initially got underway in February, only to be quickly halted as part of an industry-wide shutdown in the UK, but it’s also reportedly one of the first projects due to restart in the country asap.
For those who enjoyed the streaming service’s take on Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series, an expanded cast awaits in Season 2. Joining Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra in The Witcher‘s second season are Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, and Mecia Simson as Francesca.
“Probably my favorite additions for Season 2 are the new witchers,” showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich told The Wrap.

With news of The Witcher reportedly resuming production on its second season soon, fans of the series are eager to see what’s next for Geralt of Rivia. And in an interview with The Wrap, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed a few interesting details about the upcoming season.
For one, we’ll finally get to meet Geralt’s family, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing his biological parents. Hissrich says that we’ll be introduced to more Witchers, including Geralt’s mentor Vesemir (played by Kim Bodnia from Killing Eve) and his brothers-in-arms from the monster-hunting order. Oh, and Roach is back, too!

When Game of Thrones wrapped up, the streaming networks immediately began commissioning shows to fill the swords, dragons n’ boobs-shaped hole in the viewing schedule. First out of the gate was Netflix’s The Witcher, which adapts Polish author Andrezj Sapkowski’s series of novels with heavy inspiration from CD Projekt Red’s bestselling series of video games. The first season was a big hit and Netflix quickly commissioned a second run with more to come.
That began shooting earlier this year, only to be put on hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show actually had a case on set, resulting in the entire cast and crew going into isolation. Fortunately, there were no further cases, though it meant that they had to stop right in the middle of a major action sequence. The shoot is expected to resume sometime over the summer, but there will inevitably be some delay to the release.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Lauren Hissrich, the showrunner on Netflix’s hit series The Witcher, confirmed that season 2 will introduce the character of Vesemir, a fellow Witcher who’s set to be played by Kim Bodnia.
For those of you who’ve only seen the show, the best part about this bit of news is the prospect of getting to see Geralt (played by Henry Cavill) interact with a fellow monster hunter. However, for those of you who played the fantasy games developed by CD Projekt Red on which the show is based, this is huge, because Vesemir was a major supporting character in the latest title of that series, The Wild Hunt.
In addition to Vesimir, Hissrich told The Wrap that the second season will also introduce other familiar faces from the games, including Lambert (played by Paul Bullion) and Coen (Yasen Atour).

When things start getting frightening, there's nothing better than having a dog by your side to scare away the evil. Oscar's Bell is a new dialogue-free horror short film made by UK-based filmmaker Chris Cronin. Paul Bullion (from "Peaky Blinders") stars as Duncan, who heads out on his weekly camping trip into the wilderness with his dog Oscar. However, when Duncan looks out into the woods, something else looks back. Also co-starring the dog Anti as Oscar. "Our goal was to create a longer film, really going back to the basics of the scary ghost story," they explain about making this. "During the writing we just kept asking ourselves, 'what would make this even worse for Duncan?', looking to heighten the horror until we had an ending we really felt delivered." It definitely does. Thanks to Short of the Week for debuting this one recently. Brief description from YouTube...

The Witcher season 2 spell has been woven over at Netflix, with the proverbial coin of renewal having been tossed to the series by the streaming Valley of Plenty over a month before the premiere of season 1.
The second season of Netflix’s The Witcher was officially confirmed back in November, and with an 8-episode order, which matches the number of episodes for the hit inaugural season. Production on Season 2 will commence in London in early 2020, with a premiere set for fall 2021.
Indeed, Netflix’s gamble seems to have paid off, with The Witcher going on to become one of its biggest performers, due to a touted record-breaking 76 million household presence – notwithstanding ambiguity over the parameters for those metrics.

Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) has joined the Season 2 cast of The Witcher, Netflix’s fantasy drama series starring Henry Cavill.
The series that the streamer calls its biggest new show is epic tale of fate and family — the story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

While the wait is far, far from over, fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of The Witcher season 2 recently received some spectacular news.
Making the announcement earlier this week with an adorable image featuring himself and the noble steed that ‘plays’ Geralt’s horse Roach in the hit show, Henry Cavill confirmed that filming on season 2 is officially underway. Production is to take place primarily in the UK (we’ve already seen some of the potential locations that Geralt and co. will be visiting) and, it’s emerged, will feature an expanded cast.
As reported by Deadline, in fact, seven new cast members have already been confirmed for the series’ return next year, many of which TV junkies will immediately recognize. Best known for his performance as Tormund Giantsbane in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Kristofer Hivju will play Nivellen, while Peaky Blinders‘ Paul Bullion will take on the role of Lambert.

Geralt and Ciri’s next stop in The Witcher will give the Child of the Elder Blood a chance to meet some of Geralt’s comrades in Kaer Morhen, and apparently, Netflix has already found the right actors to portray them.
The new live-action adaptation of the White Wolf and his epic tales in the Continent has been the talk of every town since its debut in December, bringing in huge numbers for Netflix and causing a massive surge in the sales of The Witcher saga by Andrej Sapkowski. As such, fans are thirsty for more and want to know what’s next for Geralt and his Child Surprise. Well, considering the fact that the second season is just entering pre-production, there’s not much to share, though according to some reports, the next run will roughly adapt Blood of Elves, which is the first novel after the collection of short stories.
