The villain for James Gunn's Superman, releasing in 2025, has yet to be confirmed, but the director may have just spoiled who it will be.
The Dcu's Superman has announced a stacked cast including several major Justice League superheroes, but plot details, including the identity of the movie's main villain, remain vague at best.
Past live-action Superman movies have pitted the Man of Steel against General Zod, Doomsday, and Lex Luthor, while other iconic villains from his rogues gallery such as Brainiac, Bizzaro, Metallo, and Parasite have gone largely ignored.

Dcu’s Joker is by far the greatest antagonist and without a shadow of a doubt, he is the most popular negative character by a landslide. The character has existed in comic books for several years and has undergone a number of vital changes during this time. However, there is no denying that among a sea of villains, his face was the most iconic and it grabs one’s attention right off the bat.
Joker in Batman: The Animated Series
One of the key reasons that he remains popular is because he is driven by sheer chaos and madness, making him an intriguing and multifaceted character. Over the years, fans have seen The Clown Prince of Crime had immense respect for his arch-nemesis, Batman. However, the superhero franchise has done the impossible by making him sane in a recent arc, and interestingly enough, he respects Superman the most.

A hero is only as good as his villains, which helps explain why Batman has eclipsed Superman as DC Comics' trademark character. There are at least two dozen memorable villains in the Gotham City rogues gallery, while Metropolis has less than half that. Bruce Timm, an architect of both "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Superman: The Animated Series," is aware of this.
In a 2021 interview with Comic Book Resources, Timm said that, "Superman's rogues gallery was not as visually interesting as Batman's rogues gallery." At first glance, that's a blunt statement, but it's also quite revealing. For one, Timm's vocation as an artist means he prioritizes character design. Secondly, he's right — even the best Superman villains aren't as colorful as the best Batman ones. Lex Luthor is just a normal man in a business suit, and it's essential to his conflict with Superman that he be nothing more. Bizzaro's...
