SandalwoodTo be directed by Manju Swaraj, the film is about the owner of a haunted house desperately trying to sell it off.Digital NativeIt was revealed recently that Sruthi Hariharan plays the female lead in Mane Maratakide, which is touted to be a horror comedy. The film is directed by Manju Swaraj who had delivered the blockbuster hit Shravani Subramanya starring Ganesh and Amulya in 2013. Chitra Karniya Ram has been signed up to play the hero in Mane Maratakide, which will have a bevy of comedians such as Sadhu Kokila, Kuri Pratap, Ravi Shankar Gowda, Chikkanna and Giri in supporting roles. While the progress of Mane Maratakide has been kept a secret till now, we hear that it has reached the post-production mode already. The team is planning on releasing the trailer soon while the film’s release is scheduled to happen later next month. However, the date has not been finalised as yet.

According to reports doing rounds, Darshan has been roped in to reprise the role done by Ajith in the Tamil version and Amulya will be seen playing his sister onscreen. Amuyla, who was on a break, announced that she will be staging a comeback with a Kannada film that will be directed by a debutant. And now, this news about her sharing screen space with Darshan proves that she is back in full swing. It may be mentioned here that Darshan was initially in talks to star in the Kannada version of Veeram but this project failed to take off for various reasons. While it has been confirmed that Dharshan and Amulya will form the core actors in the remake, the director is yet to reveal the rest of the star cast. Vedhalam, written and directed by Siva, hit the silver screens in the year 2015. The film was presented by ace producer Am Rathinam with S Aishwarya producing it under the banner Sri Satya Sai Movies. Made on a budget of Rs. 61 crores, the film went on to earn Rs. 130 crores at the box office, proving to be a commercial success. Vedhalam had Ajith playing the lead role with Lakshmi Menon playing his sister. Shruti Haasan was Ajith’s lead pair in it. The others in the star cast include Rahul Dev, Kabir Duhan Singh, Aniket Chouhan, Soori and Thambi Ramaiah. Anirudh Ravichander had composed music for the film with Vetri cranking the camera and Ruben editing it. Darshan is currently expecting the release of Kurukshetra and is busy with the shooting of Yajamana. According to the latest reports, he will be seen playing a character with shades of grey in the upcoming A Hari Krishna directorial. Titled 8 Mm, Jaggesh will reportedly don a negative role in the film. The project has reached the post-production stage and will be ready for release this summer. The exact release date is expected to be announced soon. Jaggesh is now all set to move on to his next that is to be directed by Kaviraj. In this film, the hero will be seen playing an encounter specialist. The director is currently busy with the prep work to get it on the floors this May. The film will have music composed by Gurukiran with Av Krishna Kumar roped in for cinematography. The buzz is that this Jaggesh starrer will be a thriller. It may be noted here that director Kaviraj made his directorial debut with the romantic film Maduve Mamatheya Kareyole that had Suraj and Amulya playing the lead pair. Jaggesh began his acting career way back in 1982 with the film Ibbani Karagithu, in which he played only a small role. The actor was then seen in Shwetha Gulabi in 1985 and since then he has acted in a number of popular films, including Krishna Nee Kunidaga, Rani Maharani, Hatamari Hennu Kiladi Gandu, Solillada Saradara, and so on. Jaggesh made his debut as director with the film Guru that had Gururaj, Yathiraj and Rashmi Gautham in the lead roles. He then went on to direct Melkote Manja, which had himself and Aindrita Ray playing the lead roles.
