Then, in November 2023, *Nsync walked the purple carpet to celebrate the premiere of Trolls Band Together. They recorded “Better Place” for the animated musical comedy’s soundtrack.

Beware the prisoners of Cellblock 666, especially that curly-haired fellow in the jack-o’-lantern suit. Yes, Tom Hanks returned to play David S. Pumpkins on Saturday Night Live on October 29. In one of the sketches on the NBC show Saturday night, Ego Nwodim, Andrew Dismukes, and host/musical guest Jack Harlow play theme park attendees braving Cellblock 666, “a terrifying tour of this petrifying prison, where each cell holds an iconic fright from the silver scream,” as Kenan Thompson’s tour guide says. Will Heath/NBC Sure enough, the trio comes face to face with Michael Myers from Halloween, Annabelle from The Conjuring, Pennywise from It, Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, and… David S. Pumpkins, flanked as always by dancing skeletons played by Mikey Day and SNL alum Bobby Moynihan. Dismukes’ character points out that David isn’t a horror-movie character, but Harlow’s character doesn’t mind. “I...

Tom Hanks made an unannounced appearance on this week’s Halloween edition of “Saturday Night Live” to revive one of his most popular — and undeniably weirdest — characters: David S. Pumpkins.
Host Jack Harlow was featured in a sketch in which he and some pals enter the Cellblock 666 Halloween attraction, an elevator ride that presents visitors with “horrors from the silver screen,” according to the elevator’s operator (Kenan Thompson).
“If I pass out, film me and post it,” said Harlow’s overly excited character as they’re greeted by “Halloween” maniac Michael Myers, evil clown Pennywise from “It” and possessed killer doll Annabelle.

Saturday Night Live‘s cast of comedians is shrinking even more before Season 48 kicks off. Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor, and Aristotle Athari are officially exiting ahead of the NBC sketch show’s return later this month. The three are just the latest cast members to depart from the long-running series following Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson earlier this year. The large ensemble of players will be noticeably smaller without seven of its team members. (Credit: Will Heath/NBC) Moffat, Villaseñor, and Athari are leaving just weeks ahead of the new season, which has yet to announce hosts or musical guests. This comes almost six years after Moffat and Villaseñor first boarded the cast as featured players in 2016. They were both promoted to series regulars in 2018. As for Athari, he joined the series last year in Season 47, making his run a shorter one. He memorably introduced the...

Kate McKinnon is opening up about her departure from Saturday Night Live after a decade on the NBC comedy sketch series. In an interview with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest on Live With Kelly and Ryan, McKinnon got candid about the reason behind her big decision to leave. “I thought about it for a very long time,” the comedian said of her exit. “All I ever wanted to do in my whole life was be on Saturday Night Live.” (Credit: Will Heath/NBC) But even that desire to be a part of the show wasn’t enough to keep her beyond this past season. “So I did, I loved it, I had the best decade, and then I was just like, ‘My body was tired,’ and I felt like it was time.” Ripa jokingly followed up by teasing, “it was just a decade though.” For now, McKinnon is taking a...
