Joshua Jackson, star of Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey, teased a bit about the anticipated new drama series set for premiere this fall on ABC.
In a red carpet interview with Deadline at Disney’s upfront earlier this week, Jackson said the show is in “deep pre-production” with shooting to begin in about four weeks. He added, “the sets are all built” and “look amazing, the cast is mostly together, the scripts are written and we’re just ready to go.”
In addition to Jackson, Don Johnson, Phillipa Soo and Sean Teale also star.
As with all Ryan Murphy series, no details about the premise or character descriptions are being revealed. We do know that Jackson is playing a Doctor. “Ryan Murphy doesn’t write normal procedural television, so the world that this doctor lives in is going to be as over the top and outrageous as you would expect from Ryan Murphy,...

Ryan Murphy is not one to shy away from many things. This even includes casting names not normally known for acting, such as Lady Gaga’s early crossover role when she made her appearance in the FX series, American Horror Story. Recently, Murphy even cast Kim Kardashian in a later season of American Horror Story, who isn’t the most popular figure, given the amount of exposure she’s received for years. Murphy would drop a teaser for his upcoming horror drama for FX, which you can watch below, and Deadline has reported that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be making his Hollywood debut in Grotesquerie.

In the first few seconds of the trailer for American Horror Story: Delicate Part Two, Emma Roberts eats bones and watches a spider crawl out of her pregnant belly, a stroller burns, and Kim Kardashian kisses her, and that’s when she screams. Not all of those events are interconnected, though, since the clip is a 90-second distillation of the season, which premieres April 3 on FX.
In one instance, Roberts’ character tells Kardashian’s that she can’t keep campaigning for an award and the reality TV star slaps her … hard.

After starring in Season 12 of “American Horror Story,” Kim Kardashian is making more moves as an actress. She will continue to work with “AHS” co-creator Ryan Murphy, this time in a procedural.
The legal drama has been given a series commitment at Hulu — which also airs reality series “The Kardashians” — and will see Kardashian play a successful divorce lawyer who leads an all-female law firm in Los Angeles. Jon Robin Baitz, the showrunner of the Truman Capote-focused upcoming season of Murphy’s “Feud,” will write the series alongside Joseph Baken, a writer on “AHS” spinoff “American Horror Stories.”
Aside from “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” Baitz is best known as the creator of “Brothers & Sisters,” which ran on ABC for five seasons from 2006 to 2011, and developing NBC’s “The Slap” based on the Australian series of the same name. Other writing credits include episodes of “The West Wing...

In this week's Indie Spotlight column, we're talking about a series that observes a young man's personal transformation -- and plays it for laughs. The show is called Ding Dongs, and it stars its creator, Joseph Baken, as a Mormon who grapples with his gay identity during a missionary trip to Los Angeles.
The arc of Ding Dongs -- at least in its first episode, which is now available on Baken's YouTube channel -- centers around its young protagonist, Elder Clark. While he is committed to God and his faith, his trip to the big city also ignites a personal journey within him. At the same time, Elder Clark plays straight man (no pun intended) to a slew of offbeat supporting characters. Ding Dongs' excellent casts includes well-traveled actor Drew Droege and drag queen Willam Belli.
As Baken explained in an article he penned for Advocate, Ding Dongs draws from...
