You know when your restaurant table has a wobbly leg and the waiter promises to fix it, but no amount of wadded-up napkins or coasters or old baguette can seem to even things out? That’s kind of how I felt about most of the performances from Night 3 of The Voice‘s Season 7 Blind Auditions.
Something was amiss — and not just with the ears of our four coaches, who turned their chairs with the brazen indiscriminateness of Golden Retrievers snatching dropped foodstuffs from a toddler’s high chair.

The Voice’s season finale aired last night with Will Champlin and Tessanne Chin from Team Adam Levine and Jacquie Lee from Team Christina Aguilera competing for the winning title. Lady Gaga, Aloe Blacc, Celine Dion, Ne-Yo, Paramore and OneRepublic joined the contestants to perform in a star-studded finale.
The Voice Recap: Group Performances
Chin, Lee and Champlin opened the star-studded night with the rest of the Top 20 performing Outasight’s “Tonight Is The Night.” It was great seeing the rest of the contestants back, and the performance was a lot of fun.
For her Bring-Back Performance Lee brought Matthew Schuler, Caroline Pennell, James Wolpert and Cole Vosbury back to sing an entertaining — but shortened — rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The performance had the coaches rocking out in their seats.
Josh Logan, Schuler, Nic Hawk, Preston Pohl and Ray Boudreaux, some of the eliminated male contestants, came together and performed “Treasure” by Bruno Mars.

Might there finally be a clear frontrunner on this season of The Voice? Because Cole Vosbury has had a pretty solid showing on the iTunes songs chart every week since viewer voting began (this week he's virtually neck and neck with Tessanne Chin, who's at the head of the class for the very first time). At the very least, he is the dark horse to keep an eye on – especially because he hails from three-time winner Blake Shelton's team. (Plus, there's the whole Duck Dynasty vibe he gives off with that broom-like beard.

The Top 6 were revealed on Tuesday night's (Nov. 26) "The Voice" as two contestants were eliminated. America's Twitter-powered "Instant Save" went to Team Christina's Matthew Schuler, while Team Blake's Ray Boudreaux and Team CeeLo's Caroline Pennell were sent packing. It was no surprise that America saved Matthew, but host Carson Daly was stunned that Matthew needed saving at all.
"I was shocked," Daly tells Zap2it backstage. "I was shocked." As for how Matthew ended up on the bottom, Daly says, "I don't think he did good last night. I don't think it was his best. You think about 'Hallelujah' [his Nov. 11 performance] and you think about last night, and I think America went ... I think it proves that these artists are vulnerable on performance nights. Whereas before I thought, 'Oh, it's a popularity contest. If they like so-and-so, they're going to vote them all the way through.' And I don't think [the viewers] do that now.

As far as results-show telecasts go, The Voice has just about gotten its formula down pat: Plenty of musical performances, kind and gentle quotes like “two people are gonna have to go home tonight who don’t deserve to go home” (thanks, Blake!) and the absence of Christina Milian’s signature dingbattery from the Sprint Skybox.
One more thing Mark Burnett & Co. might want to consider outlawing: Carson Daly asking contestants any variation on the question, “What has your coach meant to your artistic journey?” I mean, seriously. Whether or not said coach has sabotaged them with unwelcome backup dancers...

Could an all-season frontrunner very well go home? While Monday night was a bit lopsided in terms of performances, Team Adam delivered a hat trick of the night’s best renditions. The Voice is like a snow globe this season – it loves to be shaken up. And last night's performance show lived by that philosophy, as the artists and coaches once again focused on making risky choices. While it paid off for some, others – including one-time frontrunners – might find themselves in trouble, especially because it's about that time in the season when "shocking" eliminations start happening.
The biggest blunder of the night came from Matthew Schuler, whose rendition of contemporary classic "Hallelujah" from two weeks ago is still floating around the...

With only a few weeks until The Voice crowns its Season 5 winner, the top 8 singers converged Nov. 25 for another intense sing-off. While a ton of worthy singers took the stage, it was Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee that truly blew us away, coming out of her shell and delivering a killer rendition of Smokey Robinson‘s “Who’s Loving You.” Two more singers will be booted from the competition tomorrow night, so let’s talk about who we love — and who deserves to head on home.

The Voice is not the easiest show to recap for a fella like myself, who’s as cozy with snark and bitchery as a Kardashian is with secretly texting her exact whereabouts to the paparazzi. So on what am I supposed to hang my hat now that Season 5 is down to eight vocalists with enough combined talent to fill up an entire major label roster?
Oh sure, I can always find humor in Carson Daly’s attempts to position himself as Coach No. 5 — how I wish I could’ve been in the Sprint Skybox and shouted “Objection! Leading the witness!

There are only 16 acts in total left standing on the current seasons of The Voice and The X Factor — and yet this past week’s editions of NBC and Fox’s reality singing competitions were surprisingly lackluster.
On this week’s edition of Reality Check, my cohost Melinda Doolittle and I discuss the recent struggles of Voice front-runners Cole Vosbury, Jacquie Lee and Caroline Pennell, dish Cee Lo’s weird criticisms of his last woman standing and ponder the effectiveness of the show’s relentless push to fantasize about putting a ring on Matthew Schuler.

As the Top 10 took the stage at the top of the hour, host Carson Daly revealed that the first two artists safe and moving on to next week would be Team Adam's James Wolpert and Team Christina's Matthew Schuler, followed by Team Blake's Ray Boudreaux and Team Adam's Will Champlin.
With half of the Top 8 revealed, the next two safe were Team Adam's Tessanne Chin and Team Christina's Jacquie Lee, meaning that both coaches could breathe easy for the rest of the night. CeeLo, however, looked as if he was going to have a heart attack.

Adam Levine may be People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2014 — yep, Carson Daly confirmed that the rumors are true — but the Maroon 5 singer got relegated to third-place status on The Voice‘s Season 5 Top 10 results telecast.
Finishing ahead of him? First runner-up Cher, of course, breathing life into a sleepy “Voice confessional” segment with her flame-red hair and “Honey, I’m a legend!” brand of humor.
And winning the hour? Well, that crown went to Team Xtina — the Lady Aguilera along with her two remaining singers Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler — who delivered a scintilating Jackson sibling medley of...

Welcome to Song Choice 101 – a.k.a. last night's performances on The Voice. While Blake Shelton is still the best song selector, even he faltered as the top 10 took the stage (see: Austin Jenckes). A few of the other teams' singers – James Wolpert, Jacquie Lee, Tessanne Chin – even looked downright concerned after finishing their songs, because their coaches threw them curveballs.

Usain Bolt is to the Olympics what The Voice‘s fifth season is to reality singing competitions: Fast, thrilling and seemingly invincible.

Which two singers deserve the boot after the Nov. 18 episode? See our picks, then share yours!
The Voice‘s final 10 singers assembled Nov. 18 for a live two-hour battle of epic proportions. Yes, it was punctuated by a few weird moments — like a random “hello” from Olympian Usain Bolt and a super-awkward group number — but the 10 singers were eventually given their individual moments to shine. Our personal favorite of the night was Matthew Schuler, who soared high above his competition with a powerful rendition of “Beneath Your Beautiful.” Without a doubt, he’s the best guy left in this game.
‘The Voice’: Top 10 Finalists Perform Live
Team Blake’s Austin Jenckes got things rolling with a bombastic performance of The Outfield‘s “Your Love,” which the judges unanimously enjoyed. Not only did Austin do his coach proud, but Christina Aguilera even said the song “took us there!”

Another week of "The Voice," another round of performances as Season 5's Top 10 takes the stage on Monday (Nov. 18) to sing for America's vote and hope their fate isn't decided by that newfangled Instant Save. With returning coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green each down a team member after last week's results, leaving them with two each, the pressure is on for their remaining artists to earn their keep. Meanwhile, mainstay coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton still sit pretty with three artists apiece. Which artists will hit all the right notes and which will fall flat? Find out with Zap2it as we live blog the fun, beginning here at 9:00 p.m. Et.
Up first, we're treated to a group performance from our full Top 10, singing "Say It, Just Say It." There's a distinct KidzBop vibe to this performance that feels too silly and cheesy to be enjoyable.

Never underestimate the power of Blake Shelton on The Voice.
Although his team lacks a country singer and it seems like the deck has been stacked against him, the three-time winner was still able to hold onto all three of his contestants in the first 100 percent viewer-voted elimination of the season. None of them were even in the bottom three! A pretty amazing feat considering Austin Jenckes was one of only three contestants who didn't crack the top 100 of the iTunes songs chart this week.

It was a first for ‘The Voice’ on Nov. 12, when the fans got to decide who they wanted to save from the bottom three. We all had five minutes to tweet who we thought deserved to stay after the bottom three were announced — however, it resulted in a shocking double elimination!
Since all 12 of the finalists are extremely talented, it was tough to see anyone go home on The Voice – but the two who were eliminated were not at all who we were expecting. Do you agree with America’s save?
‘The Voice’ Performances
The show opened with an awesome performance of “Brave” by Sara Bareilles along with Kat Robichaud, Caroline Pennell, Jacquie Lee, and Tessanne Chin.

Coach Ceelo Green performed with his team for his first time this season, singing “Roam.” Wearing a black dress-like(?) pant suit, the harmony sounded really beautiful with two men and two women.
