- Skiffle and rock and roll group formed by John Lennon in 1956 Liverpool. The remaining original line up was Pete Shotton, Eric Griffiths, Rod Davis, Colin Hanton, and Len Garry. Paul McCartney joined in 1957, and George Harrison in 1958, with the group eventually evolving into The Beatles. Shotton, Griffiths, Davis, Hanton, and Garry plus a 1958 member, John Duff Lowe reformed the group in 1997. Shotton retired in 2000 due to ill health, and Griffiths died in 2005, while the others continue to perform. Lowe died February 22, 2024.
